Robert stood at the head of the table as the other three clan leaders sat at attention to hear what had made him call an emergency meeting. Adam sat to Robert's right side looking bored and uninterested in what his father had to say. "I called this emergency meeting to declare my son's engagement to Nicole, our second queen." Adam jumped from his chair in shock of what his father had announced. The clan leaders at the table started to exclam congratulations. Adams mouth hung open as he started at his father. When the room went quiet, Adam glared at his father and turned to the others at the table. "Thank you," he said and walked out of the room without another word. As soon as the door closed behind Adam he started stomping down the hall muttering how his father was an i***t. Behind him Jason ran from down the hall to catch up to him. "Hey what was the meeting about," he asked trying to sound like he hadn't known already. Adam could tell he was lieing and had already known what his father was going to say. "You know," he hissed out standing still in the hall still turned away from his friend. "Look your father brought it up to me last night. I'm sorry I didn't warn you but you can't become King until you have a Queen. Everyone has been worried and other clans were talking of taking over the territory." "That's ridiculous, but I'll tell you what I told my father. I will not marry anyone until the end of next month. If by the last day of next month I don't find her then I'll marry whoever he chooses. That doesn't mean I'll love her." Adam finally turned around and looked at his old friend with pleading eyes. "You still think she's alive after all these years?" The question everyone had been asking him everyday since the incident happened. "She's alive and this coming month is her 21st birthday. That's when she will have her true powers and I will be able to find her." Jason sighed before saying, "It's been 5years since that happened. No one has found her or heard a word about her since the kidnapping. The video clearly showed them throwing her off the top of the waterfall. No one not even the Queen could have survived that. Her real powers weren't even active. Even with our fast healing it wouldn't have been fast enough. No one has had power like that." Adam cursed under his breath. "I've watched the video a thousand times. I searched the river banks up and down over and over every week. Her body was never found, we don't know for sure." Jason had heard his best friends argument before and knew no one could change his mind. He only hoped that this would be the last month of hearing it and his friend could finally move on. Adam saw his friends pity look and turned away. "This is the last month, then yes I'll give up." Adam didn't wait for Jason to respond he just started walking away down the hall. Jason walked behind his friend as he said, "Cool, so let's forget about that for now and go out drinking tonight." Adam chuckled and nodded his head in agreement.
Flash back to 5 Years earlier.
A Dr is pushing a bed as fast as he can yelling to anyone who would listen."Does anyone know this girl or her family. we need to rush her into surgery right away or she won't service the night. I need permission for her to go into surgery." Only one nurse ran up to the bed and followed the Dr. "This girl was brought in by ambulance, they think it might have been a suicide attempt. she had no idea on her and no one has called asking about a girl like her. Unless she wakes up and tells us who she is or what happened we don't know who to call." The Dr stopped pushing the bed and sighed. "Fine I'll take responsibility for her. I'll sign the paperwork and if her parents get upset about me saving their daughter we will deal with it then. She's too young to die let's get her to surgery right away." The nurse and Dr both pushed the bed through the hospital hall to the surgery center. Even after 12 hours of surgery no one has called describing the girl or asking about her. The Dr knew with everything he had done she still might notale it through the night. Her whole body was broken. almost every bone had been shattered. Her lung was punctured and she had multiple organs bleeding out. He was amazed she had even made it to the hospital without dieing. The Dr walked up the the nurse station. "Has anyone come looking for the girl?" The nurses all looked sad and shook their heads no. "We called the police to report her as a missing person. They will be by tomorrow to take her picture and ask around." The Dr nodded at the nurse who had spoke what he had already assumed. He sighed and said, "ok I'm going to take a little nap on the break room. Get me up as soon as anyone asks about her or if she wakes up. I don't expect her to wake up for a few days with those injuries." It took seven days before she woke up. she couldn't even talk but had opened her eyes for a brief moment. The nurse had come in the room because the girls IV had started beeping and caught the girl looking around the room. "Your safe just rest for now." was all the nurse had said before the girl fell back to sleep. The nurse had run back to the doctor and excitedly told him she had finally woke up for a brief minute. "That girl is a miracle, I hope we can find her family soon. she's a true fighter." The Dr had checked on the girl every morning and every night to see how she was healing and if she had woken up. Everyone on the third floor of the hospital had heard about how bad she was when she came in. They also had heard how no one had come to claim her as their child. Something had never sat right with the nurses or DR about the girl had attempted suicide to end up that way. Even if that were true a parent would still go looking for a missing child. Everyone had questions and the only one who could answer them was the girl fighting for her life and healing. It took another two days before the girl was able to stay awake long enough to talk. She had no idea who she was or what had happened to her. She couldn't remember how she ended up in the river where she was found and couldn't remember her name. The Dr thought she might have amnesia but there was no way to fix that. she would have to gain her memories back on her own but it was possible she would never remember. Eventually the girl was healed enough to be released from the hospital but she had no where to go but the orphanage. She was 16 years old by what the Dr had learned from her bone scans. That's all she knew. The only thing that survived what had happened to her was a white gold necklace with a small star charm. She never took it off since she left the hospital. She realized her family was never going to come for her after she spent two years in the orphanage alone. when she turned 18 she left the orphanage and got her own apartment and a job at a restaurant to pay bills. She sang on her free time to forget her problems. She posted some of her songs online but didn't expect anything big to happen
she had a few followers that regularly liked her videos and asked for new songs. Tonight she posted a new song followed by a small note saying this coming month was her 21st birthday and she had planned something big so to keep checking back for updates. Sophia sighed after publishing her song online and smiled to herself. She was going to finally go see Italy after her birthday. she had finally saved enough money for the plan ticket and the hotel for a week long vacation. She deserved it for how hard she had been working. If no one else would get her a present she would get her own present.
