Chapter 9

'So how are we going to start on this?' I ask my wolf who's now laying beside me. 'You will need to accept that you and I are one. Remember what your father rather our father had told you a long time ago.'

Meg's POV

It's already 4 pm and still, no sign of Skylar. I just hope she's safe and will comeback soon. This two here are pissing me off specially this Cleo. I don't care if she's the future of this pact I shall talk to her the way I want to.

"Cleo, what the hell are you still doing here? You and sky are already done with the assignment right?"

"Yes we are but I'm still waiting for her to get back."

"Why? It's not like she wants you here when she gets back so why stay?"

'Meg' my mate interrupts our small talk. Gowd! I never thought that having a mate will be this irritating. Turing a round I see him seated on the couch with his foot raised on the table top. I walked to him, glaring and said with all the fury in me 'GET OUT! Both of you! Now!'

I really don't know if it worked but he rose up immediately putting his arms up as to signal that he wont fight. He walked straight to where Cleo is standing talking in a deep breath; he took Cleo by the arm and dragged her all the way out of the house.

While he was doing this I could hear a small whimper from him. Oh I wish I could say how sorry I am and that I don't mean to be so harsh on him but as this moment he's not helping. And for now my sister Skylar is what's more important for me.

Nate's POV

I am sitting on the couch feeling at home with my foot on top of the table. Very happy being with my mate atlast, I am thinking of what I may do for her to get better while Sky's out when she suddenly started on pick at Cleo. Giving her a warning and somehow wanting to stop her, I called her name.

'Meg' I said with the flattest voice I could have. But I guess trying to stop her is a big mistake cause now she is so furious that I thought she can even rip me apart. She waked towards me with fury in her eyes and shouted 'GET OUT! Both of you! Now!'

Getting up as fast as lightning I raised my arms up to tell her that I won't fight. I don't want to leave my mate like this but I have to give her time for herself. Thinking straight a whimper got out of me my wolf does not agrees with this but I have to do it. Walking over to Cleo I got her on her arm and dragged her out the house closing the door behind us. 

Right after we got out of the house Cleo pulled her arm from me and started walking towards my car. Hell I know what she's thinking and I will not let her mess with my car. Running towards her I growled giving her a warning. Turning around she looks as mad.

"What the hell Nate?! You are the beta, why be so scared of her?" Cleo says with so much control not to shout.

"She is my mate Cleo. What ever position I have or she have in this pact I will respect her decision. And for now she wants to have a little privacy so that's what we're doing."

"Whatever. You're such a wimp Nate."

"I don't care Cleo. And by the way, as of the moment you are not allowed to come near this house nor to my mate and her sister. Understood?"

"You can't stop me Nate."

This girl really doesn't know how to stop. I'm pretty sure she wont like this but I have to talk to the Alpha right away. Tapping on our mind link I called out to Alpha Patrick and told him everything that happened.

Cleo's POV

Who the hell he is giving me an order like that. Yes he is the beta but I am the future alpha once Uncle Patrick steps down as alpha. He needs to give me more respect than how he's treating me, I'll show him.

Taking my car, I drove off leaving him by himself. I hate listening to him. He always gets on me. As if he's someone I need to listen to. Turing on my radio ignorance by paramore was on. Not so much my type of music but it will do with my anger.

Remembering Sky and how she got so angry and yet not able to show her wolf side is very intriguing. This is the first time that in werewolf history that one can't change or even able to use her wolf abilities. But she'll be a great addition to our good for nothing mutts.

Getting this idea I called on to one person who'll be very pleased with my plan. I'm sure he won't complain about this and the elders can't do anything about his actions.

Sky's POV

It has been like a day since my wolf and I started to talk. But I know this is not the real world so it's ok for us to stay here longer. Just talk about us and what we need to do inorder to fix the problem. I know that I get too irritated with her most the times but that's just me. Having found out that I have been hurting my wolf all this time made me cry. This will be the first time that I cried after mom and dad died.

'That's a great feeling, isn't it? Being able to let out what you really feel instead of keeping them all bottled up.' My wolf consoles me. She is the other half of me. Maybe I should give her some chance I just hope it'll work.

'I know what to do now.' I tell her. 'That's just right on time and I hope you're sure about it?' her words with a mixture of surprise, excitement and a little bit of doubt. 'Yes I'm ready to accept everything now. Let us give each other a chance huh?' I said with a lot of hope. 

It took her longer to answer my question and when she did, she started walking back in to the woods saying 'I will be expecting this change. You know how to reach to me. For now, you'll need to go back. Your sister is waiting for you.'

And as soon as she's gone I drifted back to reality. Getting my self back I got up and tapped to the mind link that my sister and I share. I sent her a message 'I'm on my way home. I'm sorry' knowing her so well I'm sure she has already forgiven me. But I will buy her some ice cream first before going back home.

Heading back to town I started to run. Noticing that suddenly I am able to run faster I thanked my wolf for granting me her speed. Well not only have she given me additional speed, she also had given me a sense of direction because if not, I might be lost in the woods by now.

I was about a few miles from the road when I heard some girls shouting not too far from me. slowing down I grin to myself knowing that I have finally gotten some of my wolf abilities back. Being so high with happiness I didn't noticed that the voices where already gone and that there are now two figures standing in front of me.

Since it's already 6pm. Part of the woods had been covered with darkness. Then one of them blinded me with a flashlight. 'Who are you?' one of them shouted. Knowing to whom that voice belonged to I said 'what the hell Dani?! Are you trying to blind me with your flashlight?'

Getting shouts of laughter from the other girl whom I now know is Amber; Dani lowered the light which made me give out a long sigh. What are you doing in this time of the day here in the forest Amber asked while I walk towards them. 

"I was just having a run didn't thought it will take me this far and so late. How bout the two of you?" I answered their question and returned the question to them.

"We are actually doing our usual. Roaming around the woods and keeping ourselves busy on our tree house." Dani answered.

"Oh. I see, well. I need to go now my sis might be looking for me now."

I was about to start walking again when Dani spoke 'Sky wait. We're about to go home too. Maybe you might want to have a ride home?' I told her I would love to but I will need to buy ice-cream for my sister first. And without thinking twice she said ok and that they will help me buy the ice-cream and then they'll drop me home since she'll drive Amber home.

With her being so caring and not wanting no for an answer. I said okay and we all walked over to her car, which gave her more edge. So when she started the engine I told her that she should take her car to school more often because it gives her more attitude; she gave me the sweetest smile that I could possibly receive.

We drove of for a few minutes before Dani parked the car in front of a convenient store. I went out of the car and bought some things. Then we're off again towards amber and my street.

Danita's POV

We were about to go home when we saw Skylar on the woods. At first we thought that it was some kind of animal but when she got near us I got shock to see her this late and alone in the woods. She told us that she was having a run and got lost track of time and then she bid us goodbye.

I can not let her go home by herself, I need to make sure she's safe then out of no where I just heard myself say 'Sky wait. We're about to go home too. Maybe you might want to have a ride home?' my heart rate had gotten to overdrive this time it would make me feel better if she'll say yes, which she did after a while.

Starting the car she gave me the very first compliment and the best one that she can give 'should take her car to school more often because it gives her more attitude' her words giving me the warmest feeling of joy, being lost for words I gave her my heartfelt smile.

Our drive from the woods to the minimart was quiet but when Sky went inside to buy some stuffs Amber suddenly started singing 'Skylar and Dani sitting on a tree kis-' I threw a book at her before she gets to finish.

'Shut up amber.' I told her with a straight face. Trying to keep the happiness I felt to myself. 'Oh c'mon Dani. You can't fool me, you know that.' Well, she got that right; then I guess being her bestfriend since birth sometimes has its downside. 'Ok amber I'm happy that she's no longer ignoring me that's it. I am not telling you anything.'

Before Amber could have reacted Sky opened the car door and went in. silence filled the car again and we drove of towards Oak Street. The rest of the drive was quiet that was ended by Sky whom suddenly said 'You guys have been making this ride awkward for me.'

With shock on her face, Amber started laughing her heart out. I don't know what's so funny but Sky started laughing too which left me with a big question mark on my face. They didn't stop until we reached their street and I parked on the road in between their houses.

We all got off the car and stood on the side walk. Sky said thanks and bid us goodbye then started walking towards the other side of the road to their house. Standing there Amber nudge me on my right side, said goodnight and then run off like the fool she is and shouted thank you when she reached their door.
