Chapter 13

s**t! I’m late. How can I get out of this now? Sure, Luna Sofia probably will just let this go and won’t get mad at me if I were to give her a good excuse. But what the hell will I tell her? Of all reasons, why can’t I think of one? What will I tell her? That I just had a steaming make out session with Cleo, the next alpha, the niece of your husband?

*sigh*

No, I can’t tell her that. It’s a stupid reason. No! it’s a f****d up reason that someone may ever give. Besides, I don’t even know if they knew about how she is or if they’re even supporters of same s*x relations ships. For all I know she might get kicked out if they don’t accept her. Well, that would be a great idea but I would be kicked out as well. UGH! Damn you Cleo.

Not knowing how I got to the pack house, I stood there on the porch, standing right in front of the large oak door of the pack house. Then the door flew open. And guess who it was standing right there in front of me? Yup! Bingo. It is the alpha and his wife, the Luna.

Guess I have the word guilty writer all over my face or it’s just this shocked expression that I have given when I saw them cause the alpha raised his eyebrows as if trying to analyze why I’m so shocked to see them. And then our eye contact was broken by someone clearing their throat. But what got me so confused was the next thing that happened. Luna Sofia started pulling me towards her car before her husband got to say something, she said goodbye and then we’re off.

I think I was lost in thought because the next thing I knew we’re already a couple of miles away from the pack house. I turned to look at our Luna, not knowing what to say to her but before I get to open my mouth she spoke.

“My dear, I already know what happened so you don’t need to worry yourself on what to say to me.” She said with a wide smile on her face.

Deciding that it’s no use to lie, I asked her how she knew. But she decided to allow me to get curious more that I should be, because she didn’t gave me an answer right away. Then after a few minutes, she gave out a low laugh and told me the entire things that she knew about how Cleo gets to control the teens of the pack. She said that she knew all about Cleo’s tactics but the alpha does not know. I didn’t spoke nor give out any comments. I just simply kept quiet waiting for more information’s that she might give me about Cleo. To my luck, she continued.

“you might be wondering how I knew. Well, you’ll be shocked but that’s actually how she always is to new young pack members. But her uncle doesn’t know because I don’t tell him all that I know for his sake and mine. Much of what I heard from the other girls is that she’s very dominant and tends to practice it a lot.”

Well, I guess that’s old news. As if I have already expected this to happen. I told her what really happened and that I was somewhat forced by her and a guy. Getting to curious I asked her how she knew about me and Cleo, cause I practically bathed myself with perfume before I reached the pack house.

She chuckled and eyed me before turning back to the road. Feeling like a fool I asked her “what?” she then faced me and said with all the sarcasm in the world.

“I have practically memorized the smell that she gives out whenever she besides to go down and dirty with one of the girls in the pack.”

The look that I have given her must have looked very funny, because she started laughing hard. Calming down, she said sorry, I said okay and we continued on our way.

The drive took another 5 minutes before we reached our destination. The same place where we have driven off yesterday morning; a small shack on the forest with an underground sound proof training facility. It’s like a mansion underground with all the things one need to live in luxury.

Once we have covered the car and entered the facility, I immediately changed in to my training suit. Track pants and sports bra. The training started with stretching a few lifting and running. Then off we go to my strength and my fighting skills. Once I’m so drained up, it is time for meditation.

It is a total of three hours of full blown training. For what, I don’t know and why she is doing this, I don’t know either.  But once I am done, I went straight to shower got dresser and we’re off again. I never really bothered to ask yet. I have a feeling that there is a right time for all my questions.

“Wow! You look like nothing happened. It’s as if you didn’t train for 3 hours.” Luna Sofia stated cheerfully while I’m getting near. Feeling a little bit awkward, I just gave her a smile.

I hopped in to the passenger seat while she got on the driver’s seat and started the engine. We were silent for awhile, well not that awkward silence but the silence that one needs to have peace of mind. I was thinking about her and how she’s so kind to me when she decided to break the silence.

“I can see that you’re getting better. A lot better today than yesterday I may add. You are getting way stronger every minute. I can see it in your eyes. You are winning a battle inside of you. But, do you think you are stronger now to face everything that life gives you?”

She asked me without removing her eyes on the road. I would like to know why she said those things to me but in some way I know I’m also asking myself that question. Am I ready to face everything? Gawd I hope I am.

“I.. Uhm.. Well.. I actually don’t know Luna. Truth is I don’t know if I can still go back to how I was before all this happened.” I answered her question with truthfulness. Feeling a bit ashamed of myself I went back to staring outside the window.

Giving me her understanding, she got hold of my arm that gave me this soothing sensation. I hate whenever they do this. But I will now be forever grateful for this being beside me. If we have not changed states and was not able to meet her, I may be nothing by now. So I promise I will protect her all my life.

Come to think of it, Luna Sofia and her husband our Alpha is still young. She reminds me so much of our mom and Alpha reminds me somewhat of dad. Well, they are almost of the same age but mom is I think older that her. And I can still remember the day they offered to be taken in their pack. She said that they will treat us as their own.

My mind drifted off the rest of the drive. She decided to drop me off first before going back to the pack house. So we’re here now, parked on the street in front of the driveway. I was about to open the door when she got hold of my hand, a gesture that I’m pretty sure means that she would like to talk to me. So I nod in agreement and settled down on my seat again.

She turned off the engine and let out a deep breath. I can feel that she’s still searching for the right words to tell me, I am looking at her expression intently when I saw this glimmer in her eyes. She truly cares for me and I can feel that she is worrying for me. I wonder why.

The next thing I knew, she’s holding my hand, not, she is cradling my hands in hers with the look of total sadness. I don’t know what to do or say so I just kept quiet. She cleared her throat and continued to say what she has to say. Luna Sofia started off about our parents, about how sorry she is that we have lost them. Then she continued off about my sister and her mate then to my wolf and my strength. And most of all, she let me know how much she wanted me to stay away from Cleo. This actually made me burst out laughing.

With shock registered in her face, I laughed even louder. Taking a few more minutes, I started to calm down. And when I’m totally sober from my laughter, I told her why I ended up laughing on such a serious matter.

“I’m sorry for that Luna, but actually, I’m very sorry for my language but Cleo is a total b***h. And to tell you frankly, she’s the one who keeps on stalking me. Just like what happened earlier, why I got late.”

I told her straight without hesitation. I did so because I knew I can trust her. I knew that she’s the only person that would listen to everything I say without judgment. I know laughing at her will be a total sin but when I lifted my gaze to see her reaction, she has this huge smile plastered on her face.

“I am happy to see pure happiness in your eyes love. I can say that I don’t need to worry about you too much, not yet may be. But please, Skylar, as much as possible stay away from Cleo and her group. Do you understand me?”

As I have said too many times now, Luna Sofia is my mother now. So without hesitation I leaned in and hugged her tight, told her not to worry too much for me and that I will be okay. I guess it was a total shock for her because she tensed up. But she warmed up on me and hugged me back.

”this might sound crazy to you Sky but you are my baby girl now. You might not be of my out flesh and blood but I have this pull on you like I needed to take good care of you. And I would want you to start calling me mom now. You got me?”

I sure am not expecting what she have just said but I’m happy to hear her say those words. I can call her mom now. I have a new mom, she makes me happy and I’m ok with it so I hugged her more tightly and let her got to say how happy and grateful I am.

“I’m glad that you accepted my Sky, I will make sure that you won’t have to worry anymore. I will talk to my husband once I got back home. We will talk about what we have talked about and then we will go here sometime tomorrow to talk to you and your sister. Okay?”

I am so glad that I am now lost of words. Instead I nodded and gave her a tight hug again. After a while I let her go because I know that she now needed to go back home. We said our goodbyes I got off of the car and she drove off. And now I’m standing on the street with a huge smile plastered on my face.
