CHAPTER 7When I got to him, he had rolled onto his side and was trying to get up. There was some blood on his face, though not much, and his suit jacket was torn at one shoulder. He had been hit hard under the left eye and seemed to have difficulty opening it. He jumped when I touched him. “It’s all right,” I said. “It’s me, Mac.
