9. The club

Kyla wasn’t sure why she had agreed, especially when it involved some dominant, or bondage, whatever. She'd come across the word "b**m" and had never ventured into knowing what it meant. The way Chelsea explained it sounded way out of her expectations, but she promised it was safe. That she was in charge of whatever happens tonight. It was crazy, yet here she was staring at another version of herself through the mirror. A short, black, slick dress with thin straps clings to her curves in a sexy way she could never imagine. Make-up light with golden glitters around her eyes. She looked like a woman about to seduce some random man. God, what are you doing, Kyla? “Relax. If you’re not comfortable with this, it’s no problem.” Kyla's palms turned sweaty. She wasn’t sure this could fix her problem, but it’s not bad trying. She needed to trust her gut this one time. “You know I’m a virgin, right?” Kyla muttered. “Yeah. And it’s super unbelievable, but you don’t need to have s*x tonight. One step at a time. You're in control." Chelsea kissed her cheek from behind. Chelsea was also clad in a black, back-exposing dress that barely reached half of her thighs. Her dark makeup suits her personality quite well. Her blonde hair falls over her shoulder, giving her a perfect sassy look. Chelsea's mysterious boyfriend, named Michael, sent a driver to pick them up. Apparently, the club was hard to get into, but through invites, it's easier. And Kyla, being a first-timer, would be a visitor tonight. In the car, Kyla contemplated telling Carlos about where she was heading. Then at the end, she messaged him that she won't be coming home until the next morning. They arrived at the club named Vortex Club. Larger than she expected. There was a line, but Chelsea pulled her straight to the two broad-shouldered bouncers at the entrance and showed them a card. They glanced at Kyla. "She is a visitor. Michael already told you I was bringing someone." The confidence in Chelsea's voice was professional, as if she owned the club. But Kyla, she's nervous as f**k. Once the bouncer stepped away, Chelsea led her past another line, past a woman at a desk, and then finally inside. The interior was, of course, what she had expected. Insane. Kyla hadn't swallowed as hard as she just did. The club was nothing like the wild, loud ones she had seen. This was pure sin. It was massive and high-class, with dazzling dark high walls. Throbbing bass filled the air, not wild party music, but heavy, sensual, pulsing. The kind that creeps into your skin and leaves goosebumps in its wake. The main floor stretched wide like a ballroom. A crystal chandelier hung above, casting a warm, dim light on the space. Some were talking, teasing, and a few even went into intimacy, the kind that screams possession. There was a whip. Blinds. Cuffs... And some equipment that made her jaw slack. She spotted a man in a suit wearing a neck collar. His hands were cuffed behind him. A naked woman had one foot adorned with a red heel pressed against his chest. She had a whip, which she ran across the bare chest of the man. Some were watching the show on the main floor, where pole dancers wearing masks or chains entertained them with seductive dance. A few of the men glanced in their direction. Kyla was suddenly hyperaware of every step she took. No one needs to tell her. These people are influential. The aura they carried spoke volumes. This place was insane. But what was more insane was the fact that she was... Intrigued. "My girl." Kyla's attention shifted to a young man in casual wear and a beanie, leaning against the sleek bar adorned with lines of expensive drinks. Chelsea crashed into his arms, and they kissed. Short. Passionate. Sinful. He must be Michael. He was slightly tall, lean but built, and handsome. Has this carefree aura that makes anyone feel safe. But those eyes looked the opposite... "This is Michael and Michael—This is my cousin, Kyla," Chelsea introduced them. Kyla stretched out a hand, silently relieved it wasn't trembling. "Hi, I'm Kyla Harper. Nice to meet you." Michael accepted the handshake, slower than usual. Something unreadable flashed in his eyes, but it disappeared quickly, as if it had never been there. "Michael. Nice to meet you." He broke the handshake and drew Chelsea's waist closer. "So how do you see here, Kyla? I hope you aren't overwhelmed. It's usual for first-timers." "A little." Kyla took in a huge breath. Chelsea leaned close to him and whispered something. Michael looked at her, then smiled. "I should buy you guys a drink while I tend to something," he said and turned to order them liquor. A less strong one for her, as if knowing she wasn't a fan of liquor, and then a favorite for Chelsea. With that, he strode away. "Isn't he so hot?" Chelsea snickered, drinking from her glass of whiskey sour. "Yeah. Lucky you," Kyla said. "How long have you known Michael, though?" "A month ago. Told you how we met." Kyla nodded. "So are you guys together or—" "No," Chelsea's expression tightened. "Not after divorcing Adrian. I'm done with relationships. There's no such thing as love... I'm happy single." Kyla bit her tongue. Chelsea was a mess four months ago after divorcing her ex-husband, Adrian. The man hid the fact that he was gay and even brought a man to the matrimonial bed. Chelsea had caught them red-handed. Adrian all on four with a man f*****g him so hard from behind. Adrian landed in the emergency room that night. Thanks to Chelsea's mother, who lives in Paris, Chelsea was able to win when Adrian sued her. They have been separated since then. "Does Micheal know about him?" "He doesn't have to. I want that horse's ass to wipe out my memories forever." Chelsea took Kyla's hand into hers. "Men sucks." Silence before they both burst into laughter. "Well, well, well... Look at that—man’s drinking you in like top-shelf whiskey." Kyla traced Chelsea's gaze. A man caught her eye. Clad in a simple shirt, brown hair, sharp features, leaning against the counter, strong tattooed arms folded, and his gaze was on her. She looked away. "I don't think I'm ready," she muttered. "Can't I just observe for tonight?" Chelsea placed a hand on her shoulder. "Too late, K babe. The wolf is here." Before Kyla could speak again, a deep voice broke through. "Hello, beautiful." His minty scent invaded her nose as he sat beside her. "Hi." Kyla's voice betrayed her, almost like a squeak. "Be right back, lovebird. Need to go find Michael," Chelsea said, already leaving. A curse bubbled in Kyla's throat, but none came out. She would have left too, but that would be slightly disrespectful to the man who approached her. "First time?" He asked. His voice was calm, and his aura was soothing. "Is it that obvious?" "Yeah," he agreed in a comical way that eased the knot in her stomach. His name was Taylan. Lived in Turkey. They had a few things in common. He was in New York to take over his father's business, but loves countrysides because that was where he grew up. He was cool. Harmless. And before she knew it, she was vibing with him and ended up telling him the main reason why she was here. "I can help you, Kyla," he offered. "You just need to follow me to my lounge upstairs."
