It's been twenty minutes since Carlos sat listening to Kyla converse with the therapist about her recent exercises, a sudden eye-opener of how this meant so much to her.
Now he knew why she was so adamant and curious about his touch.
In the middle of their conversation, Dr. Yuri would glance his way, and he knew the reason.

"Miss Harper, if you don't mind, I would like to have a moment with your guardian," she said.
Kyla glanced at him, hoping he wasn't uncomfortable. Carlos gave her an assuring nod and watched her leave.
As the door shut, the air turned quite tense and uncomfortable. Dr. Yuri dropped her note and pen before taking a huge, deep breath.
