Chapter 33

998 Words
It wasn't Anya's fault as Nuri's body thudded against the ground and she had an enormous gruesome gash in her chest but Anya felt guilty. She couldn't save Nuri and teared up when she sent her snowflake distress signal and the guards carried away Nuri's body. She didn't bother in asking where they were taking her body but rather focus on the puzzle circling her mind. What was it that Nuri wanted to tell her? It was definitely something connected with Arin but the eery part of this situation was that Anya had taken a closer look at the spear that was drenched in Nuri's body and found the Royal Family's seal stamp on it. Before Nuri took her last breath she told Anya that Arin wasn't who she thought he was. Could...Could it be that Arin..killed his sister before she could tell Anya the truth? But that was impossible, killing a member of your house or your family was considered treason and the King couldn't have done such a thing. He was a King and Anya was sure that such corruption couldn't have been committed by him but every time her mind reversed to Nuri's words she doubted herself. Her brain ached and she dizzily sank into Oliver's bed. Oliver and Freya had disappeared not appearing since Anya lost saw them in the town square. It was strange that Oliver didn't come back yet and Anya couldn't help but feel abandoned. She couldn't quite grasp why her heart ached of jealousy toward Freya and was hurting to know that Oliver was with another woman. Darrold was also nowhere to be seen.  She sniffled and read the letter that had been discreetly slipped under the door by someone unknown.  Dear Anastasia, Hydreich and I are fully aware of the position the King has put you in and we will not tolerate the treatment he is giving you. He is humiliating High House Hydra so we will make sure that the court turns its tables on him. Dear, hang on for one more week until we arrive. The reason we'll arrive in the capitol later than expected is that Rochelle and Ryoko have passed on. You are already aware that as our top warriors they've been sent to the frontier to fight the Rogue dragon Kingdoms but sadly, they have perished in battle. We are still trying to recuperate their remains because we suspect that they've died calcinated. If by the end of that week we haven't received their remains our entire House will head to the capitol for a formal burial for Rochelle and Ryoko with you beside your house, crowned as the top warrior of High House Hydra. Even though the funeral will be bodiless it shall be the finest the kingdom has ever seen. Like the strong woman you are, I know you'll survive this tragedy and rise up as House Hydra's top warrior. Your mission will no longer be securing the crown but representing our house as Ryoko and Rochelle have done. Subsequently, keep your training up to date. -Sincerely,  Lucia of House Hydra Anya's hands trembled as the letter fell from her hands and onto the ground. She let out a cry as she fell on her feet to the ground. Ryoko and Rochelle were gone. The only people that Anya cared for and cared for Anya were gone. Maybe this was Anya's curse. To suffer in agony and anger as well as be alone in the world. She had to fend for herself now. There was...was no purpose to return to the human world without Rochelle and Ryoko. Anya growled in anger and threw Oliver's bookshelf down to the ground. The vials crashed to the ground and their contents spilled. She felt the ice releasing from her body as dark ice covered the walls of the room. She flung the door open and grabbed a dagger off of Oliver's table. She sprinted down the halls, tears streaming down her face as she slammed the palace backdoor open and the cold air blasted in her face. Running out into the woods she could care less for the ice that formed in her wake. When she felt she as far away from the palace she fell down to her knees and held the dagger to her neck.  "Why? Why do I have to suffer like this? Was I destined to be like this! This world is tearing me to shreds! I want to be a normal human teen but I was never given a chance and most likely never will. So, I want to end this nightmare right now," Anya yelled into the wilderness. "I have no one anymore. No one to love or care for and no one cares for me. Lucia and Hydreich are only interested in making me the spitting image of Khaleesi and build me up to a warrior. They're obsessed with Khaleesi and I have the scars to prove so." Anya pressed the dagger to her neck tightly but not quite tight enough to cut her skin. "Maybe I'll be happy in the land they call heaven. Or maybe it doesn't exist but anywhere is better than here. Goodbye." Anya pulled her hand back as if to strike herself with the dagger but someone who had been sneaking up behind her crashed into her. The dagger was immediately thrown elsewhere as Anya struggled with the hooded person. He pulled back his hood to reveal a distressed-looking Oliver.  Anya erupted in anger, "What are you doing?! Let me do what I need to do to be happy" Anya struggled beneath him as he pinned his wrists above her head. He let go to quickly take a piece of paper out of his pocket.  "You know I can't read that. It's dark," Anya hissed. Oliver scrambled to erupt a small flame in his palm and Anya squinted to read the letters He had written, "You can't die because I care for you."
