Amid the dark, four-doored car speeding toward the gang's headquarters, right in the middle of the street, Jesse regained consciousness.
"Oh, where am I? What is going on here?"
The very first thing she saw was the face of the young man holding her in his lap. She screamed with all her might, threw her body backward, and tumbled onto the opposite seat, crying out frantically:
"Damn it, who is here? Who are you? Where am I? Where is my other shoe? My phone! I'm calling the police!"
Mark placed a firm hand over her small face, stifling her voice as her tears fell down her cheeks like rain on a dark, sorrowful night.
Mark: "Look at me and listen well. This isn't a party; we aren't heading out for a late-night social. You belong to us today, and the gang shows no mercy."
Steve: "Shut up, both of you, or you'll ruin this. How did she wake up so immediately? You must have been a fool with the sedative."
George: "This i***t is going to land us in a mess we'll never escape."
Mark: "Don't worry, I've sedated her again; she won't feel a thing."
George: "I think this girl is the very one I saw while searching for that man's photo and internet account. Her father is the cop who locked up my brother. I'll exact my revenge on her today, or at least get my share, and I'll gladly do it..."
Mark: "Don't make me pull those eyes out of you again. You know I'm crazy and I can beat you until blood covers your face. The girl is beautiful, and I like her. I want a romantic night with her, and I don't have time to negotiate over her. Her spiritual voice still soothes my body, overflowing with the anger left behind by that wolf's bite."
Steve: "Quiet down, George. If Mark shows his other form, we won't get there in one piece. We'll snatch her right out of his hands, but just be patient and we'll get what we want, even if by deceit. Drive slowly now."
Mark: "She is in my lap... The first time I've ever kidnapped a girl alone. The trouble is, she's sleeping right here in my arms. Her soft locks are between my hands, her tears wiped away by my palm. I feel this girl is special—definitely special to me. But that madness from the day of the wolf's bite—will it hide beneath my human face? Will I be a monster to her, or a merciful human? I don't intend to blackmail anyone today, nor jump into their turf wars. All I want is to have a beautiful night with you..."
Back at Jesse's house, right around midnight, Mira stepped out into the garden and didn't find Jesse.
Mira: "Sister? Where are you? Have you lost your mind? Why is your phone here? Jesse, are you in the bathroom?"
She shoved the bathroom door open hard and found no one.
"Hey? Are you inside the house? Dad Jack? Mom Rose?"
No sign of her sister anywhere.
Sami (Jesse's brother): "Where could she possibly be? Could she have been kidnapped?"
Father Jack: "Shut up and don't speak such nonsense! It is entirely impossible for my daughter to be abducted while under the watch of a police officer like me."
Rose began to cry, her tears pouring down until her eyelids burned in bitter frustration.
"If I don't find her today, I will never forgive you."
Father Jack pushed Rose with all his might, sending her crashing to the ground because she dared to undermine his integrity and power to protect his children.
Mira: "Dad, stop this! Stop all this anger! Your actions are the reason!"
Mira grabbed her coat and called Jesse's close friend, who had secretly fallen in love with her.
Mira: "Leon, listen. Jesse isn't here, and we have no idea where she is or who took her. Everyone is terrified, and the house feels like a blazing fire. We're all in shock, and the anxiety is tearing me apart. Mom is calling the police, Dad went out to search, and now I'm calling you. I know you told me you wanted to confess your love to her in two days, but right now, I can't even find her, and her phone isn't here either. I feel like she's slipping through your hands and mine."
Leon: "Hush, stop the panic and nonsense. I will do everything in my power to find my princess, and I won't let my soulmate slip away. I'm calling Maria to come with us too."
(Note: Maria is Leon's female friend who is secretly in love with him, though he doesn't know it.)
Mira: "Hurry up, call everyone and get over here! My sister is crazy; maybe she wandered off in the middle of the night."
Maria: "Hello, Leon? What happened?"
Leon: "My princess, my friend, my love is missing! We haven't heard a thing from her for two hours; she's vanished."
Maria (to herself): Let her be... Who cares? Damn it, he's out wandering around for other girls while he acts like a fool loving her...
Leon: "Where are you, Maria?"
Maria: "Fine, I'm on my way. I'll call the rest of our friends. We obviously have to save your friend—maybe she was kidnapped by the same gang that took those other girls..."
Leon: "My heart is dropping out of fear. Hurry!"
All the neighbors woke up to the commotion in the house, searching in dread. Jesse was a reserved girl; she was never known to go out at late hours, usually back home by 9:00 PM. Tonight she was home—so why was her phone left behind, and why was she gone? Everyone was truly shaken. How on earth did this happen?
Mark, George, and Steve finally arrived at the hideout.
George: "Mark, why are your features changing? What's wrong with you?"
Steve: "Shut up, George! The wolf's influence on him might get us killed."
Mark's eyes began to widen beyond their normal size, and his skin changed color. His eyes turned a stark gray—or was this merely a spiritual shift rather than reality? Yet why did he look so much like a terrifying wolf, a stark contrast to his previously neat, pristine self?
Mark: "Greetings, my gang! And all my friends here... I've brought a new friend, but before anyone else touches her, I'm taking her into that room..."
Silence fell over everyone, paralyzed by fear and the disturbing sight.
Mark: "Your eyes are beautiful, your hair is beautiful, everything about you is captivating and steals my heart. Such calm, love, and gentleness... I feel you belong to me."
Mark approached her, placed a tender kiss on her lovely face while she slept, and began playing with her hair, licking her face with affection. Then he retreated to the corner of the room, muttering: "Why am I captivated for the very first time? Is the secret in her, in that wolf, or simply because this is my first solo kidnapping?"
Back at Jesse's house, Maria, Leon, and Mira met up. Maria hugged Leon and kissed him right in front of Mira.
Mira (in shock): Does this fool actually bring his girlfriend on a date while my sister is at her weakest moment?
Mira (snapping at Maria): "Get away from my sister's property, and don't cross the line!"
Maria: "Damn you! He's my friend, and your sister is the ill-mannered one who caused all this panic!"
Leon shoved Maria away from Mira, causing Maria to stumble and fall to the ground.
Maria: "You fool! I fell because of her, and I came here to help!"
Leon: "Catch my hand, I'm sorry, but this isn't the time to fight. My friend is in danger..."
Then James, Tamer, Liam, and Chloe arrived at the house looking terrified.
James: "Stop it! The only thing that matters right now is that she's safe. In the end, if she dies, none of you will ever find peace."
James happened to know about Maria's secret love for Leon, and because he had feelings for Maria himself, he was secretly plotting that once they found Jesse, he would expose everything...
