Teachers allowed the students to sleep however they want, without separating them by gender. Mr. John knew that the children were in a stressed state of mind, so he thought it was wise to let them be together to ease the situation. The hotel staffs cooperated with the arrangement wholeheartedly and even provided them with a free dinner as an expression of sympathy. They promised all the help they could offer and gave the adults moral support.
Mandy laid close to Ben and embraced his stiff body. He was not sleeping, but didn't react to any of her inquiries. After lots of persuasion, he had a few bites of bread and ham, but denied anything more.
