Megan I didn't know what to answer at first. I forgot about the fact that my mom was a white wolf. I was kind of happy deep down because white wolves are invincible and very rare. It was good to feel the power and uniqueness at the same time. But, I wanted to focus on the fact that everybody was amazed by that. Sam never had ancestors who were white wolves. So, that might be a sign for something bad's going to happen. Will they doubt the fact that I'm Sam? Many questions are stuffed in my mind now. So, l looked into Cassandra's eyes, "Is that bad?" I asked trying to look unaware of the reason they're surprised about. "No, no dear," she said thoughtlessly. "It's just that it never happens." She turned to the pack and said, "The Moon Goddess gave our pack another white wolf to protect us, hail Dakota," she yelled at the last words. "Dakota... Dakota... Dakota," they all cheered. "I wish they would say my real name," Ellionora linked. "We're giving up our names to see this. You should be happy," I said. "You're the strongest wolf of Cardia Lycos Pack. You will handle a big responsibility in the impending years. I'm sure you're going to handle it firmly and decently. Happy birthday dear," Caspian said. I bowed in front of him. He suddenly said frowning a little, " Dear... What's that black spot in Dakota's head?" He reached up and touched it. I felt a little uncomfortable when he put his hand on it. " I.. I don't... N.. know dad," I stuttered with a cold shiver running in my spine. I knew this had something with the spell. "That's weird. I never saw or heard about a white wolf with a dark spot shaped like a star at the top of its head," he said. "Let the child go Caspian. She has to shift back to her human body. She should rest now," Cassandra's voice came to my ears. "Yeah, you're right. It's not something that I have to worry about." I knew he said that, but he didn't meant it. He's going to dig in for answers. I left the crew, and stepped inside to shift back. I was afraid I wouldn't be Sam now. I shifted back and sprinted upstairs directly to my room. I opened the door and ran to my bathroom. I looked at the mirror. I was Sam with her black dyed hair again. I sighed then went to take a bath and go to bed. "You did a great job today," I linked Ellionora. "You did too, " she replied, "Being on the grass felt amazing, and I'm happy I caught everyone's eyes in the pack tonight," she purred. I giggled at her words then said, "What was that dark star-shaped spot on your head?" "I don't know, but I think it has something with the spell," she said. "And... With Cassandra," she continued cautiously. "What?" I asked with astonishment. "Yeah, everytime you hurt her feelings with your harsh words, I feel pain in my head, and I think it's the spot which causes the pain," she explained. "Oh..." I just said. I knew nothing about the spell, but I was adamant that it has side effects that could be devastating. My nerves shivered at this thought. But, I could do nothing. So, I just focused on the fact that I'm a white wolf and I'm present here to save and protect this pack, and I'm going to do my job perfectly no matter what happens. With this last thought, I shut my eyes and fell asleep. _______ Cassandra I was in my room now. I never missed what happened between Sam and Caspian, but I didn't want anybody to know about it. I helped the Omegas pick up the mess outside and went to my room. I knew Caspian was in there. "What's wrong honey?" I asked him right after I closed the door. "Did you see the mark that was on Dakota's head?" He asked. "I never missed it, but I didn't want anybody to know about it," I said. "There's something wrong with Sam dear. I know Megan's death was a traumatic shock that broke her heart, but there's something else that made her change that much," he said. "Caspian... The girl is a teenager. It's very normal to act weird. I don't think there's something to worry about honey," I replied. "You're right darling. Maybe I'm overwhelmed with the fact that my daughter is a white wolf. Let's go to sleep. I'll talk to her tomorrow," he said. ______ Caspian The next morning, I woke up and got dressed then head to my daughter's room. I was eager to know what's wrong with her wolf. The spot's shape raised so many questions I wasn't able to avoid. I knocked at her door and cracked it open. She was looking at me with sleepy eyes. "Am I late for training?" she asked. "No dear. I just wanted to talk to you if you don't mind," I answered. "Sure," she said as she sat up. I walked into her bed and sat down beside her. She got up, washed her face and head back to me. "Yes dad?" she inquired. "Dear, is there something you're hiding?" I asked immediately. Her face went pale. "W... What?" she asked. "Sweetie, you can tell me anything. I swear I won't be mad. But, there's something really weird with your actions lately, and I used to link it to Megan's death until I saw that strange mark yesterday. So, I'll ask you one more time. Is there anything you want to tell me? " I asked narrowing my eyes. She looked deeply into my eyes and swallowed the lump in her throat."Yes," she said, "there's something you have to know.
