Women usually waited until they had entered the second trimester before announcing their pregnancy. However, two weeks after the doctor’s confirmation, I couldn’t wait any longer. I wanted to tell our friends and I wanted to do it before it was leaked to the press. So, Jonah and I planned a game night and sent out a text message invitation to Chase, Wade, and Olivia that was unanimously accepted.
Initially, I’d wanted to have a formal dinner, catered by one of the finest restaurants in town, but Jonah vetoed that idea and reminded me that our friends were like supersleuths. They’d know something was up and they’d likely guess it before we’d taken the first bite. He was right. Fancy dinners weren’t the norm for our group, they’d have seen right through it.
