(Elizabeth Lail is Sophia Austin) .Harry. "Well, thank you for coming to group therapy. I will see all of you next week Wednesday." Ellie cheerfully said. How the f**k is she sane? Blue isn't outside by the time I left. She told me one hour, and she's late by a minute. I don't blame her if she doesn't pick me up, considering I left her at the Toms store. I waited for about fifteen minutes before Noah, and the rest came out. "Harry, wanna go to Torchys?" Noah asked. "I'm waiting on my ride," I said. "You left like twenty minutes ago, and you're still here," He pointed out. "He knows dickwad," Atlas said. Noah dismissed him as he walked up to me. "I don't think she's coming," He said, confusing me. "How do you know it's a girl?" He's creepy as f**k. "If you pissed her off, she isn't going to show up on time. Been there, done that, not again." Damn, he's right. "Fine, I'll go." I gave in. I could use some friends. "Guys, wait! He's joining us," Noah exclaimed. "All of you are going?" I asked. If so, then the staff at any restaurant must go crazy. "No, not all of us, just Emilia, Atlas, Journi, Sophia, and myself." I hope he is kidding because from what I witnessed, they all hate each other. "Bro, come on." Noah urged, and I unwillingly followed. "Sophia, can you give him a ride?" Noah asked, and she nodded. Her green eyes are still dull. "F-follow me," She stuttered. I followed her to a silver Toyota SUV and got in. Her car is clean, and it smells good. "So..." She said. "So..." I echoed. "I'm sorry, I'm not usually this awkward." Her voice is so soft. "Don't worry, I'm sure you aren't," I said, comforting her. Why am I comforting her? So unlike me. It's the jetlag, it has to be. "So, what brought you to Texas?" She asked, pulling out of the carlot. "I wanted to come here." I lie. "Sure, okay." She said, knowing I lied. "You don't believe me?" I asked, pretending she offended me. "No, I don't. Journi is here because her parents made her get help. How the f**k do you fix your problems when you're isolated from the entire situation?" She asked, taking me by surprise by cursing. I did not see that coming, but someone gets it. "My thoughts exactly!" I exclaimed. "I do not understand that line of thinking at all," Sophia said. We made small talk the rest of the trip before she parked at Torchys. "What do they have here?" I asked. "Tacos," She tells me, making me smile. "I love tacos," I said, opening the door for her. She showed me how to order as she paid for both hers and mine. Noah, Atlas, and Journi are already sitting down, and Emilia followed shortly after. "Hey guys," Sophia says as we sit down. "Did she seriously have to come?" Emilia asked. "Why are you a conniving little b***h to her?" I snapped, making Emilia stare at me wide-eyed. Well, all of them did. "What?" They're weirding me out. Noah slowly stood while slowly clapping his hands. Atlas copied him, confusing me. "What the f**k are you doing?" They're getting weirder and weirder as the seconds pass. "Someone finally had to nerve to say that. Someone get this man a beer!" I rolled my eyes at them as I sat down. Journi looked unimpressed by her friends. Are they friends? I doubt it, but they have someone they relate to at all times. "Okay fresh meat, why are you here and what did you do?" Emilia asked, leaning over the table, ignoring Noah and Atlas's slow claps. "Not your business." She scoffed at me. "You might as well spill it now because we're going to find out one way or another." "Fine, what did you do to land yourself in group therapy?" I know how this will go. She's going to say, I asked you first, and then I'll say, you're the one who brought it up. "I asked you first," I f*****g knew it. "You're the one who brought it up." I crossed my arms, resting back in my seat. "Trashed my mom's apartment when she told me she isn't my real mother." What the f**k? "Yeah, I know, f****d up. Not my real mom, so why should I care?" She asked, sitting back. "I also escaped rehab twice, so that's why I'm here." Emilia's eyes are cold and distant. Her mum f****d up bigtime. "That explains a lot," I said under my breath, but she heard me. "Oh, like you're any better. Your turn jackass." She sneered. I'm not going to spill my entire life at them. I'll give them the mundane facts. "My parents divorced, and I didn't handle it well," I said, hoping they'd leave it at that. "That's a shitty reason," Emilia said. "There has got to be more, and if not, then you have some serious issues." She chuckled. "Can you shut your damn mouth for once and let him talk." Atlas snapped, not looking up from his phone. "According to my mum, I am throwing my life away on s*x, drugs, alcohol, and money," Emilia smirked. "s*x?" Oh, my f*****g god. "You know you're not helping your case when you say you love late-night adventures," I said, but I don't think she cared. "Continue," Emilia said, ignoring my comment. "I kept getting arrested for s**t I didn't know was illegal, and I have anger issues, according to my mum." I want to get the f**k out of here because I can not handle all of them staring at me speechless. "f**k off," I said, looking down at my phone. I have a lot of text messages from an unknown number. It's Blue, and know that because she said it was her and she hasn't stopped blowing up my phone. "What brought you here?" I asked Noah, attempting to get the attention off of me. "It was either this or jail, and I was money laundering." Wait a f*****g second. "Money laundering?" I asked. I was doing that, but in my defence, I didn't know until I got arrested earlier this week. "Yeah," Noah said. He's way too calm about everything, and I don't understand that logic at all. Is he used to breaking laws? I don't have any other explanation for him. "I used to be a heavy drug user," Atlas said, making Journi scoff. "What do you mean, you used to be a heavy drug user? You still are!" Can she not yell that out loud? I don't want his problems becoming mine. "What? It is because of the weed?" He sarcastically snaps. Journi rolled her eyes. "Why are you here?" I asked Sophia, who glanced at me. "Orphaned, and didn't know that until I was thirteen. Nobody told me my parents aren't my real parents." I regret asking. "Sorry for asking," I said, meaning it. "It is what it is." She huffed. "Ah, yes, the tear-jerking story." Emilia teased. "Emilia, do you have a permanent pole up your ass? Because if so, please take it out. I'm sure everyone else here is tired of your stuck up over-inflated ego." I'm getting sick and tired of her too. Emilia scoffed, dropping her jaw. "Not everyone is afraid of you, love. Get used to it." I said, hoping she'd listen. Before she could retaliate, someone smacked the back of my head. "What the f**k?" I asked, turning around. "Hi, Blue." I know why she's fuming right now. "You couldn't wait for me again? Do you know the definition of wait, Harry?" I rolled my eyes and turned back to my tacos. "You said one hour, I waited." I didn't bother to look at her. I know she's mentally killing me right now. "Who's this?" Noah asked, obviously interested. "Not your type, f**k off," Blue snapped, catching him off guard. "How do you know that?" He tested. "Because I'm not an i***t, pretty boy, so f**k off. Harry, let's go." She said, and I knew if I stayed longer, she'd forcefully drag me out herself. I grabbed my tray and drink and followed her out after throwing my trash away. "How did you find me?" I asked, getting in her car. "Because I've been in group therapy." She said, starting the car. "No more questions," She stated. I was going to ask more, but I am not in the mood to hear a lecture. "You don't think about anyone but yourself! Your life would be a whole lot easier if you weren't an asshole." Blue yelled at me and didn't stop screaming until we got back home. Would I call this place home? No, but it's better than a prison cell. "You're back," My dad Derek said. "What gave it away?" I said, mocking him. "We would've been back sooner if he stayed put. Instead, he went to lunch." Blue spat, slamming her purse on the counter. "She said one hour, and she wasn't there, so excuse me if I was trying to keep myself busy." I'm so tired, and she is making it worse. "Can we do this another time?" I impatiently asked. "No, we're going to do this now because if you don't care about me enough to wait, then I don't care about you enough to let adjust your new pathetic life." She is fuming, and I swear her eyes turned red. "Okay fine, you can talk, but I'm warning you, I'm going to tune you out." I still don't understand why she feels the need to be a b***h. She's bold, I'll give her that, but god, she's annoying me. "You're right, don't let me get in the way of your ego." She pushed past me and ran up the stairs. I looked back at my dad, and he has a scowl on his face. "You could be a little nicer," He said. "Says you," I seethed before going to my room. I don't know how I'm going to survive in this situation. I should have stayed home and taken my chances in jail. How the f**k can someone be that irritating? Blue always has something to say and can't stop running her pretty little mouth. Coming to Texas is a massive f**k up, and I want out. I pulled my suitcase out and threw all I could inside while grabbing my phone, wallet, and carryon duffle bag. I need to get the f**k out of here because I am over this bullshit. I slammed the bedroom door closed while shoving my s**t down the stairs. f**k Blue, f**k group therapy, f**k my dad, f**k my stepdad, and f**k my mum. f**k trying, because let's be honest, I did not plan on changing. On my dads' behalf, I'm taking one of his cars to the airport. I'll be sure to let him know once I'm back home. "Harry?" Blue's voice rang out, but if I'm not mistaken, she sounds worried. "What?" I said, my voice sharper than I intended. She rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Where do you think you're going?" Blue asked while motioning her hands at my s**t. "Far away from here. This whole situation is a mistake, so I'm gone." I said, continuing on my way. "You can't leave, Harry. Do you want to be arrested?" I chuckled at her question before turning to face her. "Why do you care? You hate me, remember?" She crossed her arms and rolled her eyes for the billionth time. "I never said I hate you, but you're difficult." Did she seriously say that? "Oh, and you're not?" I challenged. "Never said I wasn't." Her big brown spiteful eyes board into my eyes, making me uncomfortable. "You need to stay, Harry. You'll thank me later," I smirked at her. Her eyes have a wall, but I can see right through her flawed cracks. Dare I say she cares to a certain extent? I am going to have so much with this. "Blue, are you coming onto me?" I teased. Her face turned red as she stuttered, making me laugh hard. "No- I, go f**k yourself." She struggled to say before she marched back up the stairs. "You can be honest!" I said, amused by her frustration. "You're a piece of s**t!" She yelled, not looking down. "Come on, admit it! You're probably going to lock yourself in your room, and the rest is history." I'm having too much fun. "You're a f*****g cunt!" She yelled, but I know she instantly regretted that. "Did you say you want me to f**k yours?" "Shut the f**k up, Harry!" She yelled, making me nearly die from laughter. A few moments later, she slammed her bedroom door shut. After my fit of laughter died down, I looked at my bags and sighed. Heading back to my room, I unpacked again and turned on the TV. I mindlessly watched it, letting the hours pass, and before I knew it, Blue was yelling my name, calling me down for dinner. I do not want to sit at a table with my dad and Blue. I got out of my bed, afraid she'll come up here and shoved me down the stairs. I tried to resist each step, knowing my pace will piss her off. "I don't have all night, Harry!" Blue yelled, making me chuckle. I f*****g knew it. "Don't let me stop you from doing whatever you do at two in the morning," I said as I sat down. "What are you doing out at two in the morning?" My dad asked, turning towards Blue. s**t, I should've kept my f*****g mouth shut. Then again, she's been a b***h to me since day one. "Nothing," Blue lowered her voice along with her head. I looked at my dad wondering why she would react like that. "Do you always stay out in the city by yourself all night?" His voice deepened, and his Texas Twang accent grew thicker. "It's not a big deal," Blue said, still not looking up. Her eyes didn't hold so much hostility, but instead, they hold fear. What the f**k did my dad do for him to frighten her? "We've been over this, and you know damn well it is a big deal. I've told you numerous times, do not leave, but you refuse to listen." My dad's hand hit the table, making Blue jump. "I'm sorry," She said, her voice cracking. Her eyes filled with tears that are desperately trying to free themselves. "You're always sorry, but you make no f*****g effort to change!" Something in me does not like the way he is talking to her. He's a f*****g arsehole. "I'm trying to." Blue's voice was quiet and meek. Clenching my jaw, I sucked in a sharp breath. "Bullshit! If you drop out of one on one therapy with the best therapist in the nation, you're not trying, and I'm getting sick and tired of your immaturity." I can't keep my mouth shut anymore. "Says the one took off from his own f*****g family!" I yelled in Blue's defence. She glanced at me with a small smile. Her big light brown eyes flashed a hint of vulnerability before flickering them back down to her barely touched dinner plate. "That is no way to talk to your father!" I hope he's fibbing. "Father? Do you want to go down that route? Fine, you're a piece of s**t who does nothing but run away from your problems and not 'man' enough to suck it up and deal with your consequences!" I yelled in one breath. "Harry, with the kind of business I was running I was not ready to be a parent for the rest of my life! I f****d up, and I'm sorry!" His apology is just as s**t as everyone on YouTube who got exposed. "The second you didn't put a condom on was the second you signed up for this so don't give me a bullshit apology! You're sorry for getting put on the spot and called out about the fact you cared about your f*****g paycheck more than you do your family. f**k you." I spat before I stood up, knocking the chair over. I purposely stomped my way up the stairs, knowing damn well he hates. "You have done nothing except cause problems." I heard my dad yell at Blue. What the f**k did she do for him to such a piece of s**t towards her? "If I'm the one causing problems, then why the f**k did your son call you on being a deadbeat arsehole?" Blue yelled, returning back to her usual bitchy attitude. "You do not want to push my boundaries, young lady. Do I have to remind you of the last time you decided it was a good idea to test me?" This is getting weirder and weirder. Throwing myself back on to my bed, my phone went off. Unknown: Hey Okay, I'm compelled. Me: Hey? Who is this???" Unknown: Sophia Austin from group therapy I added her to my contacts before responding. Me: How did you get my number? Sophia: Not hard to find someone's number, especially if they put in their i********: bio. Why the f**k did I do that? I need to delete it off my accounts bio. Me: Very true I tossed my phone on the bedside next to me and turned the TV back on. I'm still hungry considering I didn't eat at dinner. Picking up my phone, I impulsively continued the conversation. Me: Want to grab something to eat? Sophia: I'm down! Where? Fuck, I don't know the city well. Me: I'm relatively new, and I don't know my way around quite yet. Can you pick me up? Parts of me screamed, telling me this is a bad idea because I met the girl a few hours ago. The others are telling me to go for it and f**k it. I need some excitement and based on how straight-up Sophia is, I know she'll give me just that, a rush. Sophia: Sure! Send me the address. I did as she said and she said she'll be here in thirty minutes. I purposely took a long shower to prevent any chance of seeing my dad for too long. I cannot believe he said that Blue. I know I'm an asshole, but what he said was so f*****g low. I still want to know why and how Blue got the job to work for my dad. Whatever they have going on, it's not healthy. She looked terrified when he yelled at her, and I do not like, and I will not put up with s**t like that. I am going to make it clear that he has no f*****g right to be a f*****g prick. Sophia texted me saying she's here, so I ran out without being seen. "Hey," I said, climbing into her car. "I didn't know Derek was your dad. It makes sense because of your last name. I did not put two and two together until I pulled into his ridiculously long driveway." I need some answers now. "You know my dad?" I questioned. "Yeah, I used to work for him, but then he fired me without an explanation. I hear he's got a new girl working with him, but nothing has been released to the public about her name. I hear she's feisty and a brat." There's more to my dad than I thought. I don't like how Sophia called Blue a brat, but she is feisty. I'd be too if someone is treating me like s**t. "Yeah, she keeps to herself, so I haven't really seen her," I lied. If she knew who was in the house, I don't think she'd be happy considering Sophia was giving Blue the evil eye at lunch. "Alright, enough about the mystery worker, what would you like to see?" Sophia asked as she pulled out of my dad's house.
