(Bella Thorne as Emilia Nova) .Harry. "From hearing the way you speak to one another, anger seems to be the only thing you guys have in common. I mean there's a lot more than fury alone, but by now, all of you are well aware of each other's rage." I rolled my eyes, slumping back in my chair. "Is there a problem, Harry?" My therapist, whose name I don't remember, asked. "No." Yes. "Are you sure?" She asks again. "I'm telling you the truth." No, I am definitely lying to your face right now, but you already know because you're a f*****g therapist. "Ellie, I don't think he is," Emilia said, chiming in. I'm glad Emilia said our therapist name because I am sure as hell didn't plan on asking her again. "f**k off," I seethed, making Emilia roll her eyes. "Harry, if you don't feel comfortable sharing with the group you can talk to me after," Ellie said. Does she honestly believe I'm gonna stay after and talk? She lives in a dream world. "Anger is neither good nor bad, but it is defined solely off of a stereotype. When you're angry, what do you to do? You can share if you want to or not." Ellie said, and the room fell silent. "I break s**t," Noah said. "Shocker," Journi said. "Alright fine then, what the f**k do you do when you're angry?" Noah asked Journi. "Do you belittle people because you hate yourself so goddamn much?" He sarcastically asked, pissing her off. "No," Journi said, looking at her perfectly manicured hands clearly uninterested in anything anyone has to say. "Well, you do a fan-f*****g-tastic job it," Noah said, taking a verbal jab at her. "Oh, shut the f**k up! Stop walking around like you're any better than us. Hate to break it to you, but those doing better than us aren't in here." She said. She's not wrong. "Hey, settle down. We are trying to work on our anger, and arguing with one another never got anybody anywhere. Journi, why did you feel the need to comment the way you did at Noah?" Ellie asked, putting Journi on the spot. "He's annoying," She said, shooting daggers out of her eyes at Noah. "Why? What do you find annoying about him?" Ellie asked. Journi struggled to find words, but nothing came out. "If you can't come up with an answer in under ten seconds, then there's no real issue." Journi rolled her eyes at Ellie before crossing her legs and arms, dismissing everyone. "Either that or she likes him," Sophia said smirking. "If he and I were the last two on this hellbound planet, I'd kill him," Journi said, her voice full of venom. "I'll kill myself to take away your satisfaction of doing it yourself," Noah said, looking down at the black carpet, staring at nothing in particular. "Same," Emilia said, shocking me. "You're the kind of person to fake their own death for attention," Sophia said to Emilia. "Says the who slept with someone you just met." Emilia fired back. "Hey!" I exclaimed. Why the f**k did she feel the need to bring it up? "Not directed at you, Harry, but in general," Emilia said, redeeming herself on my behalf. "I do not!" Sophia yelled defensively. "You know, overreacting is the number one reaction when someone lies, and you, my dear, overreacted," Ellie said. How many guys has she slept with? Like I'm the one to talk, but still. "Moving forward. What steps should you take when you're in the heat of the moment?" Ellie asked, clicking her pen. "Walk away," Atlas mumbled. "Okay, anyone else?" "Going for a run," Another girl said. "Write down what you're feeling and why," A boy said. "I do that, and it's helpful," Ellie chimed, writing down the examples. "Do you do anything that you enjoy to calm down?" She asked. "I paint," I said. About half the group looked at me, confused. "What? It's true." I snapped. "I did not take you for an artist," Journi said. She didn't sound like she was trying to provoke me, but sounded genuinely surprised. "Yeah, I went to school for it, and then I dropped out. Why the f**k do I need any academic classes if my major was in art?" I asked. "I don't see the point in college if you have a skill," Emilia said. "Like, thanks for my diploma, but I'm never gonna use anything I learned! I'm gonna have buyers remorse for ten f*****g years after because of student debt," Emilia continued, sarcastically pretending she graduated. "It's so stupid! I'm sorry but how the f**k am I gonna use the Pythagorean theorem for writing song lyrics?" Noah asked. The rest of chuckled, agreeing. "It's all bullshit in the end. Glad you got your degree, but you're most likely not going to work in the field you went to school for." Atlas jumped in. "I know, right! I love writing, but the only thing I need is English! Do they want me to incorporate Newtons three laws of motion or some s**t?" Sophia said, chuckling to herself. "School is literally anyone number one stressor, and if you say it isn't, you're lying," I said, finding myself laughing. Well, everyone was laughing pretty damn hard. "Wow," Ellie said, making us look at her. "What?" Noah asked. "All of you agreed on something and bonded over the fact you find school irrelevant if you have a skill." She said, smiling at us. Oh, s**t, she's right. We all have something in common, which is hating school. "I don't think we've gone that far without yelling," Emilia said, looking down at her barely-there shorts. "Look at us getting along and s**t," Noah joked with a toothy grin. "Don't get used to it," Journi said. "How outrageous!" He exclaimed, pretending as though he's offended. "I mean, I could get used to it," Atlas said. I don't think anyone could look as careless as he. I don't think he has a single f**k to give anymore, especially with these people. "I'm with Atlas," Emilia said, still looking down. It as though she's afraid to look at us and she knows her guard is slowly falling and we'll catch the vulnerability in her eyes. "Sorry I'm late," A voice called out, making me widen my eyes in shock. Blue's here. "Don't worry. You can sit anywhere you like," Ellie said as Blue sat down across from me. She looks like she had a rough night. "Are you new?" Ellie asked, and Blue shook her head. "I'm new to this group, but not to group therapy," Blue spoke softly, purposely dodging eye contact. "You can introduce yourself to the group, and you can tell us what you like to do if you'd like," Ellie said as Blue got situated. "My name's Blue, and uh, I like to paint," She said, surprising me. Why didn't I know that? "So does Harry," Noah pointed out. She glanced at him. "Wait, I saw you yesterday. You dragged Harry out of Torchys." Noah said. Part of me was hoping he wouldn't remember that, but he does. "And?" She asked. "Are you his sister? You guys have the same accents." Noah said, pointing out the obvious. "No, it's a coincidence," Blue said, looking at me. Her hair is a mess, and she didn't try to put any effort into getting ready. She had on a pair of sweats and that lavender tank top I saw her in yesterday morning. Her eyes, dull and lifeless with dark black circles around her brown honey eyes. In the corner of her lower lip, it looks like she has a cut and tried to cover it with makeup. What the hell? My mind went back to dinner last night before my dad yelled at her, scaring her. I swear to f*****g god if he put his hands on her, I'm gonna have a few things to say to him. I may be f****d up beyond repair, but I will never put my hands on a girl in any way, shape or form. People who abuse disgust me. "How do you know him?" Sophia asked, looking at Blue. Her green eyes felt cold and distant and almost mockingly. "Doesn't concern anyone," I said, stepping in. "Are y'all dating? Oh god, if so, Blue you need to find a new man because homeboys been busy with other people." Journi said. I didn't detect any hate or mockery, so I'm assuming she means well and is genuinely concerned someone is hurting Blue, emotionally. "No, we aren't a couple," Blue stated. "Anymore, or never were?" Sophia asked. "Never," Blue seethed at Sophia. The tension in the room grew thicker and thicker as the girls stared the other down. Sophia broke first, and that means Blue is the dominant female in here. Why do I know that? My mum is a wealthy boss, and she has these eye you don't want to stare into too long. She claims her dominance with long brooding stares. Just like animals in the wild. Looking into another's eyes is a challenge for an alpha position. Given the animal's fight, and I mean literally, and we don't... usually... same rules apply. "Odd," Sophia said. Something in her voice tells me this is a red flag, but I ignore it because girls will be jerks to feel the other out. "Moving on, I'm glad you both have something in common," Ellie said, referring to Blue and I's passion for art. I wonder what her style is. Mine is mostly watercolour and painting. "I'd like to see some of your stuff," I said before I could stop myself. "Well, you can when you get home," Blue said, dropping the bomb. "Y'all live together?" Sophia asked, shocked. "Uh, yeah. Problem?" I asked her. I have a terrible feeling Sophia knows exactly who Blue is based on the way Sophia talks to her. It feels like she hates her. "No, but I am curious to why she does," Sophia said, giving me a bullshit answer. "Doesn't concern anyone," I said, dismissing Sophia's provoking attitude. "If I'm gonna be seeing you, I'd like to know who lives with you," She said, making me choke on my air. "What do you mean by that?" I asked. I sincerely hope I didn't f**k an overly needy b***h. "Are you f*****g kidding me?" Sophia asked, standing up. Her eyes wild with anger as she towered over me in my chair. "Do you see anyone laughing?" I challenged, standing up myself. "You're a f*****g asshole," She said, tears pricking her eyes. "You didn't seem to think so last night," I said, knowing I'm humiliating her in front of everyone. "Holy s**t, this got even better," Noah exclaimed, laughing in his chair. Atlas chuckled with Journi and Emilia looked at me with disgust. "Why, Harry?" Sophia asked, her voice cracking. "Because you were the one who got my number and texted me," I said, truthfully. "Maybe next time you want to sweet talk your way into bed, make sure you wait at least a month before making an irrational decision. By then you should know if sleeping with that person is worth it," Blue said in the most monotone voice possible. I glanced at Blue, smirking at her. She rolled her eyes, fighting a similar smile. "You are nothing but a stupid skank," Sophia said, turning to Blue. Ellie looked like she was about ready to throw a chair at us, and honestly, I would've done that by now if I was her. "And you're the definition of a two-face stone-cold b***h," Blue said, getting in Sophia's face. "I'm not two-faced," Sophia said, calmly, a little too confidently. "Are you sure? Because last I checked you worked for-" Blue started. "Okay! Okay! I'm done!" Sophia said, cutting Blue off. She sat back down and Blue and I followed suit. "I'm so done with you," Sophia said, but we both know she's lying. She's the kind of girl to get excitement in all the wrong areas on purpose. She likes playing the victim, and that is something I'm not going to let her do. "Okay, delete my number. Wouldn't want you to beat yourself up over a one night stand you initiated." I said, not looking at her. I will not give her the satisfaction of feeding into her little game. She didn't say a word to me for the rest of the session, and I do not care one bit. I have real matters to cry over, and I don't even cry over those. "Well, today was certainly interesting. I want you guys to find more things you have in common except hating the education system. Hopefully, deep friendships will blossom, and I will see all of you soon." Ellie said before dismissing us. "Why are you here?" I asked Blue before exiting the room. "You arsehole of a dad made me come because of my unnecessary attitude last night." She said, putting quotation marks for the word unnecessary. "What happened to your lips?" I asked. Her eyes darted away, looking down. "I fell," She lies. "Blue, I need to know if my dads hurting you," I said, meaning it. If I find out he's the reason she's got a cut on her lip, I'm gonna destroy him and every ounce of his overly inflated ego. "What? No! Why would you think that? I'd tell you if he did!" She yelled, trying to push past me. I stopped her. "Hero, let me go," She warned. "Tell me one thing, and I won't ask," I said. Blue looked down, contemplating her reply. "Fine," She said, giving in faster than I expected. "Tell me my dad has never placed a finger on you," I said. I know she's lying, but I know how difficult it can be to come forward. "He's never hurt me," She said, and I stepped out of her way. I know he has, and I know he will again, and I will not put up with s**t like that. "Hey, am I taking you home?" Sophia asked as I watched Blue pull out of the driveway from the window in this suffocatingly small room. Looking over at Sophia, I scoffed. "You're joking?" I asked. "No, I just want to talk about whatever happened last night." She said. Did she somehow forget the screaming match we had less than ten minutes ago? "So talk," I said, standing my ground. There is no way I'm getting her f*****g car. "I'll talk when you get in the car." She sassed, turning away. Fuck me. I climbed into her as she started the ignition. "I thought you liked me." She said. Oh god, here we go. "What made you think that?" I asked, regretting letting her open her f*****g mouth. "We went out and then we back to your place." She said. "You're the one who invited me out, so don't make this look like I asked you out on a f*****g date." I snapped. "Does s*x mean anything to you?" She asked, clearly hurt I don't care enough to keep her around. "No, and it never will," I said. "You're a f*****g jerk," She said. "Is there anything else you wanna lay on me, besides you physically doing it?" I asked, mocking her. "Why didn't you tell me Blue lives with your dad?" Oh, for f**k's sake. "I don't need to tell you." I seethed. "Why?" She is so f*****g nosey. "Because my business isn't yours, so stop trying to make it yours." I hope she stops asking questions about Blue, but I know she won't because someone is clearly jealous. "I just want some answers," She whined. "Do you want my f*****g social security number too?" I asked. "Why is it so hard to answer people?" I can't take it anymore. Sophia stopped at a stoplight, and I got out. "Harry? Harry!" She yelled after me, but I kept walking. I can find my way home without her. I showed up at the front door forty-five minutes later, drenched in sweat. I knocked on the door louder than I needed, but I'm tired, hot, sweaty, and pissed off. The door opened to Blue, who looked like she's seen a ghost. Blue, herself, looks drench in sweat, and she looks tired. "Where've you been?" She asked, hiding behind the door. "I walked because I couldn't stand the sound of Sophia's voice any longer," I said, stepping inside. "Are you okay?" I asked as she nodded. "Yeah, did a workout," She lied. "I didn't know you worked out," I said, and she sighed. "I didn't know you paint," She said, stating a fact. "Blue!" My dad yelled, making her jump. I looked back at her frigid state, and that does not sit well with me. "f**k off!" I yelled back. "Harry? When did you get back?" He asked. "Just now," I said. "Good to have you back." Yeah, f*****g right. "Blue, I need you to come and help me with something." My dad asks Blue. "What kind of work exactly?" I interrupted. "Sort my fan mail." Lies. "Weird," I said as Blue came from behind the door. She held her arms close to her body before she scurried off with my dad. She looked back at me as if she was screaming for help. She told you not to worry. She told you not to worry. She told you not to worry! I'm still going to worry because sorting fan mail should not strike fear in anyone. Deciding it's best I leave it alone, I went to my room and watched my phone blow up with Sophia's name on numerous texts. Powering off my phone, I went to go take a shower.
