"Hinata...!"
I woke up and immediately opened my eyes when I heard my mother's scream from inside the house. Looking around the room, I realized Leo wasn't there.
"Leo? Where did he go? Oh no, I hope he's not causing any trouble!" I panicked and immediately got up from my futon and ran towards the house.
"Hinata...!" My mother shouted my name again, making me run even faster towards the kitchen, where she, Mei, and Sora were already there in their sleepwear.
"W-wait a minute!" I gasped for breath, and when I reached the kitchen, my eyes widened in shock to see Leo, already wearing his black t-shirt and jeans, standing in front of the stove frying eggs. Meanwhile, on the table, five plates of buttered toast were already served, along with five cups of still-hot black coffee.
"Leo?"
"Good morning?" Leo greeted me casually, almost giving me a heart attack for daring to show himself in front of my mother and two step-sisters.
"Hinata, who is this man?" Sora asked, smiling shyly, instead of feeling frightened as a stranger was cooking breakfast in the kitchen.
"You know him?" Like Sora, Mei was acting flirtatiously. I sensed something strange here, Leo's looks prevented him from being immediately thrown out and beaten for trespassing. If it were a middle-aged man with average looks, they would have called the police and beaten him up together.
"H-he's my friend." I replied hesitantly.
"You brought a strange man into the house without my permission?" Mom asked, annoyed. It seemed she was the only one who wasn't completely taken in by Leo's good looks. Although her reaction was still too calm, considering she should have been holding a bat in her hand by now.
"I-I'm sorry I didn't tell you, he stayed over last night and-"
"He stayed over? Where?" Mom, Sora, and Mei were shocked by my confession. I was getting more and more anxious, and what made me even more annoyed was that Leo probably didn't understand what we were talking about.
"This i***t! How could he still cook when I was panicking because of him?" I thought to myself.
"Hinata, answer me! Where did he sleep last night?"
"I-in my room."
"In your room? You're kidding me...?" Sora and Mei shouted loudly, as if they couldn't believe my confession.
I, confused about what to say, was shocked by Leo's sudden reaction. He walked over to me and stood right behind me, then hugged me affectionately.
"I'm Leo, Hana's boyfriend. Nice to meet you?" He said in fluent Japanese. I was shocked, while Mom, Mei, and Sora were mesmerized by his smile.
"So f*****g handsome...!" Mei and Sora said in unison, while Mom was stunned, her face flushed. It turned out all women would be weak when faced with a guy as handsome as him.
"Hey, what did you say?" I protested Leo hugging me without permission in front of my mother and two step-sisters, and his false claim that he was my boyfriend, because of course, that wasn't true.
"Why? I'm your boyfriend, right? Don't you remember what we did last night in your room? Hmm?"
"Shut up, you idiot...!"
Leo's words made me even more panicked and embarrassed. This i***t didn't think at all about the risks of his reckless action of entering the kitchen and letting everyone know that I'd brought him over last night.
"Why, honey? Didn't you accept my proposal last night?" Leo said with a teasing gesture that made me speechless.
I glanced at him, and he glanced at me. We exchanged glances for a few seconds, but I still couldn't comprehend his plan and his nonsense about proposing to me.
"What are you talking about? Don't joke around, who would—" Leo immediately covered my mouth with his hand before I could finish.
Mom, Mei, and Sora looked at us in confusion, Leo's actions making me even more panicked.
"You're getting married, Hinata?" Sora asked, disbelieving what she had just heard. Meanwhile, Mei and Mom showed sour faces, signaling their displeasure.
"Get your hand off me...!" I said, pushing Leo's hand away from my mouth. I nearly suffocated because he clamped my mouth shut so tightly, not realizing his large body possessed strength probably 10 times greater than mine.
"N-No, it's not like that! He and I were just—"
"So you're my future mother-in-law, right?" That bastard Leo acted once again before I could explain. He approached my mother and kissed her hand like a gentleman.
My mother, Sora, and Mei stared at him in such an unexpected way. I knew it was easy for him to charm women with his incredibly handsome face and tall, muscular build. But I'm sure it wasn't that easy for my mother to be seduced by him. Yes, even though my stepmother was a terrible stepmother, she was very loyal to my father, in stark contrast to my biological mother, who heartlessly abandoned me and my father to live with that man named Rocco D'Angelo.
"Take your hand away, you're so impolite! Kissing a woman's hand isn't Japanese culture!" As I expected, my mother would definitely reject Leo. That made me a little happy, as Leo stopped thinking he could seduce all the women in the world.
"Then, would you teach me what Japanese culture is like, Madam?" Leo immediately responded positively to my mother's words. I can tell that he is an expert at seducing women.
"I-I'll teach you!" As if not wanting to miss the opportunity, Mei immediately offered to teach playboy Leo about Japanese culture, and judging by Sora's demeanor, it seemed she was also eager to take advantage.
"I'll teach you too, don't worry! By the way, your Japanese is very good. How did you learn?" Sora asked.
"My mother taught it!"
"Your mother? Is your mother Japanese?"
"No, she's half Portuguese and half Vietnamese, but she lived in Japan for seven years, which is why she's very fluent in Japanese."
I was stunned by Leo's confession. For some reason, I started to worry if he tried to ask my mother, Sora, and Mei about Hinata Hanase. What if they accidentally told Leo that they knew Hinata Hanase and that the girl was me?
