Alex’s POV My father didn’t take rejection well. I’d known that my entire life. What I didn’t expect was how systematic his response would be. It started small. Three days after Maya refused his offer, the apartment building manager knocked on our door. “Mr. Stone? I need to speak with you about your lease.” “What about it?” We’d paid through the end of the month. “The property owner is exercising their right to non-renew.
