Ravena's POV At that moment, I just stood frozen in place, hoping he would say something else. Hoping he would not. Then his voice returned smoothly. “I do hope Lucien stands beside you when we ride out.” And just like that every trace of warmth in my chest vanished. I blinked. “What?” He gave a slow nod, like it was obvious. “You two would make a perfect match.” The ground suddenly tilted under my feet. I stared at him, but he didn’t seem to notice.
