"Steve just said that Paulina, not me, is the one he should mate with." Refusing to understand that she was not going to mate with Steve, she shook her head. rejecting the way things were going and severing their relationship. "But this is not possible," her mother added, shaking her head. "Everyone is aware that this evening, Steve and you are going to become parents. There is no logic to this."N For Chanbee, the unfolding events became too much. "What do you mean 'that is her,'" Chanbee questioned aloud. What was unfolding in front of her eyes left her absolutely perplexed. Her entire universe came tumbling down. Her heart thumping loudly within her chest. "I have always done it. Everyone has known it. Tears streamed over her face, but she said, "I am your mate, not Paulina." Steve, it can not be her. You can call me mate. You belong with me, not with her." Chanbee started to freak out and was having trouble maintaining her composure. Steve looked into Kily's tearful eyes and apologised, pleading for her forgiveness. "My emotions are real. The wolf inside of me is telling me that Paulina, not you, is my actual mate. Regarding it, there is nothing I can do. My inner voice is telling me to pay attention to her, not to you. Both of us must accept it. I can no longer control this. I have selected Paulina as my mate, and we will mate tonight." Steve casually approached Paulina, grasped her hand, and planted a kiss on the back of her hand. Our fate is to be one. I am sure you are feeling it as well. We will mate tonight because you are mine and I are yours." Paulina said, lovingly gazing into his chocolate-brown eyes, "I can feel it too. "I had been feeling it all evening, but because I knew you were with Chanbee, I was reluctant to speak out. However, I knew that someday you would find me and that your path would take you to me." Chanbee stood by, observing while shedding tears. The evening was not meant to end this way. Not Paulina's mate, but Steve's. The plan was for his wolf to select her. Chanbee's heart was pounding so hard that her world started to get out of control. It was as though it was falling into the depths of her abdomen. She was feeling quite sick, and she thought she would pass out. How is this possible to be occurring? When Steve was meant to be Paulina's, how could he possibly be matched to her? In an instant, how could she lose her partner? One who she believed to be her soulmate. She felt certain that she would receive a partner. Chanbee looked up at her mother, tears welling up in her eyes. "Mother, what just happened? Feeling alone and powerless, she questioned, "What do I do now?" Can I take a stab at this? Can I disagree with his choice? She pleaded, hoping there was something she could do to prevent this. a strategy to mate Steve with her. to sever his connection to Paulina. Chanbee's mother hugged her in a warm embrace and caressed her back while silently sobbing. "I am sorry, my love," she muttered. It is impossible to ignore a mating call. I am aware that you were determined to mate with Steve, but you cannot resist the wolf's call. Regretfully, there is nothing you can do to alter how this will turn out. "Mother, I just do not understand. It was my intention to have him. Mine, not Paulina's!" Chanbee could no longer contain her grief and sobbed onto her mother's shoulder. trembling with hurt and rage. The wolf inside of her is howling in anguish and will not accept the loss. "Mie cannot be experiencing this. This cannot be the final outcome. I will not recognise his final choice. I refuse to allow this to occur to me. "There is nothing to be concerned about with this. Steve has made his decision, and we must respect and accept it. We are powerless to resist the wolf's call. As you are aware, Chanbee." Given that Chanbee's mother would need a considerable amount of time to heal from such a trauma, her heart ached for her daughter. She hoped that she could take some action to ease her child's suffering. However, Chanbee was the only one who could handle it. Nobody could defeat it but Chanbee. Chanbee would have to find a way to process her hurt and fury, even if it would take some time. All she could do was take it. Now what should I do?" inquired Chanbee, who was begging for assistance while staring into her mother's eyes. I feel really alone and lost. It has stolen from me all I have ever wanted. I feel humiliated and so empty. I am going to be the group's laughing stock. Everyone assumed it would be me and not Paulina." She wiped her tears with the back of her palm as they ran down her face. "Mother, it ought to be me." She continued to murmur between sobs. Her mother brushed fresh tears off Chanbee's cheeks, "I know, my love, but you will recover from this, I swear." She wished she could have done more for her bereaved child. wishing there was a means of relieving her daughter's suffering. A means of healing her wounded heart. to support her throughout this difficult period. It did not help Chanbee's predicament at all that everyone rejoiced when they heard the wonderful news about Steve and Paulina. She became even more embarrassed and ashamed as a result. How could everyone become so hostile towards her? How could they enjoy her suffering? Was there anyone who did not care about her or her situation? Nobody even appeared to be aware of her pain. Nobody approached her to offer consolation or assistance; all of their attention was on Steve and Paulina. Forgetting anything about her, they were enjoying their newfound mating. Chanbee felt anger rising in her heart. An rage that she had never felt before She could taste the deep, bitter tang of it. Her inner wolf let out a depressing cry. Chanbee felt awkward at the celebration all of a sudden. Her and pick were no longer the focus. Now, everyone was rejoicing over Steve and Paulina. the future Alpha's mating ritual. The Alpha who should have been hers, soon to be. She took one final look at Steve and Paulina, then headed to the community hall entrance, changed into her wolf form, and started fleeing. It was how her mother anticipated her response.
