Chapter 13

CHAPTER THIRTEEN The two men move from behind Sarah and Peter. Without the prop, Peter turns away from Sarah. She is left to stare at the back of his head. Peter watches six pairs of boots tromp their way past them to the horses. As the men get farther away, the more they become visible. He sizes them up. All large in build but vary in height. One larger than the rest. All wear plain grey ankles- length cloaks with the hoods covering their faces. Peter yells, “Hey! You get away from there! Those are ours!” He causes himself to twirl again. Sarah sighs. “Save your energy, Peter, they don’t care.” She twirls at a slow pace. As Sarah turns around, she watches them rummage through the packs. The men pull out clothes, food, and of course, the gold. The leader calls out to Sarah and Peter.
