Chapter Eleven

Most of the drive was spent in silence and I spent most of it on my phone still trying to figure out what happened last night. Again, just so you have a back story or an image of where I live and also why the ride took hella of a 20 minutes, here comes some imagery. My neighbourhood is a small, remote quarter, in Los Angeles. It's located on a little hill with people that are civilized and have barbecues every Sunday, most of them being doctors or businessmen, basically making around six figures a month. My parents are scientists, so you could say that they too are doctors cause they have a degree however, them and I fit like a kids drawing in the Louvre. So now you know why it took so long to get to school and also why I wish I will never do it again. " So..." Ares said with a smack of his lips, " We are having a game tonight and I was wondering if you might want to come. We will also have an after party." he finished with a quick glance at me. " You are not seriously asking me out right now, are you?" I said while making sure that my annoyed state was still emphasized. " No, no. Just letting you know that we will have a game and as it is your first game in this school and you are not yet used to the-" " Yeah, let me stop your rambling right there. I'm not coming." I said and continued checking my i********:. " O-kay..." Ares said with a childish sound and continued sticking to driving. At one point, both of us received a message and I proceeded to open it and surprise, surprise, so did Ares. " What the f**k man! No texting and driving! I don't wanna die! Or have another car accident for that matter..." I screamed at him and grabbed the wheel. " What?! Oh come on... We were about to stop anyway." said Ares dodging my concerned screams. " Both hands on the wheel or I'm walking to school." I said taking the phone from his hand and dropping it in my lap while pointing an accusatory finger at him and squinting my eyes. " Yes ma'am! Both hands on the wheel." he gesticulated putting both hands and locking them there. " Good." I tried calming myself before taking a look at the message. " It's from Lee-san-dhra..." I struggle to pronounce the name. " Lysandra." Ares corrected me with a little chuckle. " What is so funny? And who is Lysandra?" I turned to look at him and see a smile growing on his face. I bet he feels victorious right now cause he has the answer and I don't. " Lysandra is the student president of this school. She likes to be referred to as student government, you know... cause she would like to be president of the United States one day..." he finished with a mocking tone. " Aha..." I answered kind of skeptical, " But why the chuckle?" " Oh... you saw that..." he started to look a little embarrassed, " It's because the names means ' Liberator' but most of the time is a mouthfull, therefor not that liberating." he finished with another chuckle. I chose to ignore his weird amusement he has for this girl's name and I continued reading the text, " Dear Students, as you all know, tonight our football team is having a match with our most rivaled team, the Grizzlies. In order to support them, the school is having a mandatory assembly during the 5th period where our cheerleading team will demonstrate their new routines and our principle will give an encouraging speech along with the team's couch, Mr. Hunter. Hope to see you all there, presence will be checked." I finished with a mocking voice. " So now you have to be there and watch our event." said Ares pumping up his ego. " Or I could just skip and apologize during detention." " Oh come on! It will be fun. And plus, weren't you on the cheerleading team?" " Me? Cheerleading? Cheering? And hopping? Hell no! I'm on the track team." " Oh cool." he said giving me a once-over. " You don't seem that muscular..." he stated disappointed. " Did you just checked me out?!" I stated unbelievably, " Ares Wilder! You are in so much trouble!" " What?! Can't a guy check out a girl?" " Not if she is staying next to you and you make it this obvious." " You are exaggerating now. Like drama queen lever of exaggeration." " Okay, I'm done. How long till we get to school?" I said at the end of my patience. " Five minutes. Why?" " Okay, I can walk from here." I said picking up my backpack, unbuckling my seatbelt and trying to open the door. " You are not going anywhere." Ares said while locking the doors. " Very funny..." I was pissed, but I was prepared to play along, " Tell you what, you unlock this door and I will come to the after party with you." " You don't fool me. You think I don't know you were trying to cover up the clicking noise of the button with your voice in means to escape?" " How did you hear that?!" I started freaking out. " Good hearing." he pointed to his ears while looking at the road ahead. Okay Jay, you have around thirty seconds to convince him to let you go. Think! Think! " Regardless of my actions, my words were meant to be true. Almost valued in my mind as a second plan." I tried in a seductive voice. " Really? You mean, you weren't fooling around?" disbelief was present in his tone. " Not at all. Hear me out. I have a proposition you can not refuse: You open this door and I promise on my honor, I will attend by your side at the after party." " It does sound tempting..." he said letting his guard down while taking a few turns. " I know, I just said that it's a proposition you can not refuse. I meant it." " Okay, fine." he said stopping the car and unlocking the doors. I jolted out of the car with my backpack over one shoulder, turning around right after I got out of the car to tell Ares the truth. " You, my friend, should learn not to trust a liar's promise. Because you my friend, have just been f****d up." I said letting out a little devilish laugh and closing the door. But when I turned around, I was the one f****d with. " You were saying...?" said Ares getting out of the car. " But we were... I was... The turn... Five... How did we get here? More accurate, WHEN did we get here?" I was confused. " Well... While you were obsessing over getting out of the car, you lost track of those five minutes, well... thirty seconds until the stop where you were planning to leave and well, now we are here. Two points for Ares, zero for Jay." " f**k you Wilder!" I said pissed off and started walking towards the school. " HEY!" Ares screamed after me, " Don't you want your baby back?" My baby! My sweet, black baby! " Where is Fighter?!" " If you'll follow me..." he said, bowing slightly and edging his elbow for me to grab. " Yeah, that won't happen. Take me to my bike and do it now." " Right away Miss." he said mockingly. He started walking in the opposite way of the school, towards a little forest and because I was so keen on getting the hell away from him, I had to run after him so I won't lose his trail. " Took you long enough." said Ares when I got to his side. " Well, it's not easy running in biker boots, but you wouldn't happen to know that." I added sarcastically. " You shouldn't have run that far away from me in the first place." " In my defence, you are not the nicest guy to be next to." " I'm just gonna pretend that I didn't just hear that and that I'm not hurt at all." And so we continued walking, dodging branches and frees, until we got to a soon-to-fall garage in the middle of the woods, with a lock on it. " We are here." he said taking out a key from his pocket and unlocking the door. " What is this place?" " Believe me, you don't wanna know. Just get in and take your bike and lets go." " Wait! How will I know you are not going to lock me in?" " You don't. You'll just have to trust me." " And what if you are a liar like me?" " Then you will soon find out." he said pushing me inside. " It's dark as f**k in here." I screamed to make sure he heard me. " Don't need to holler, I'm behind you." he said touching my shoulder, " Here." he switched on the flash light from his phone, " There is your baby, now lets get out of here!" I hurried to it, not having the luxury to look for scratched, just the amount of time to touch it and lift the crick and start pushing it out the door. " Tamara! We need to hurry!" Ares said panicking. " Don't call me Tamara!" I said growling. " Okay, we don't have time for this." Ares said and started hurrying towards me. " What are you doing?!" I tried slapping his hands when he tried to touch me. " Trust me, you don't want to stay and see this." he aimed the light up, enlighting his face that now had gold eyes. I didn't have another chance to fight him. He grabbed my waist, throwing me over his shoulder, knocking the air out of my lungs. I started protesting, but with so little air and so much anger, there wasn't much room to express it. Instead I settled to fuming all the way to the school and thinking of ways to kill Ares once my feet touch the ground.
