Chapter 7.

2896 Words
Later that evening Lacy and Bradley sits silently at a table in the beer tent, as the rowdy crowd of bikers gives a lively atmosphere to the contrasted awkwardness between them. “It must really suck pretending to be married to me right now?” Lacy says with an amused smile as she watches the blond a few seats away from them trying to catch Bradley’s attention. “You know you can at least give her a smile?” “What are you talking about?” An oblivious Bradly asks confused. “And in case you have forgotten it is not pretend anymore.” The day’s events still fresh in his mind as he tries to control his frustration. It will not help if he takes it out on Lacy, her face showed that she was just as shocked at the news as he was, but still he could not help himself earlier at Dave’s house. “The blond bimbo with the heart shaped eyes to your right.” Lacy discreetly tries to nod her head in the bimbo’s direction. “Not my type.” Bradley deadpans without even looking in the bimbo’s direction. “You did not even look at her.” Lacy says flabbergasted her mouth agape. “Don’t need to. I don’t do desperate.” Bradley says emotionless as he takes a chip from his plate and put it in his mouth. “Well, it did not look like it this afternoon with the redhead.” Lacy says teasingly in a sing song voice. “Hence the second kiss for the day, otherwise known as an end to a means.” Bradley declares in a bored tone. “Second kiss of my life.” Lacy whispers to herself looking down at the table so Bradley would not see any emotion in her eyes. She could not help the pain that shoot through her heart hearing that he just used her. “I have an idea. Let’s play twenty questions. Maybe if we get to know each other as friends this would be easier. That is until we can get out of this.” Lacy suggests hesitantly as the awkward silence falls between them again. Who would ever have guessed she would want to get to know Bradley as a friend? “Yeah, maybe it would help, but let’s play a game of coinish instead?” Bradley says awkwardly feeling a bit nervous as to getting to know Lacy as a friend. Maybe getting drunk will help make this easier. “I’ll go get the shots!” Lacy shouts as she jumps up from her chair eager to get the liquid courage they both would need. Minutes later Lacy returns with a bottle of liquor and a whiskey tumbler. Placing the tumbler in the centre of the table she slowly fills it halfway as Bradley takes a coin out of his wallet. “Okay, rules.” Bradley says as she sits down opposite of Bradley. Lacy nods as Bradley continues. “No cheating. The coin must bounce at least once before it falls into the tumbler. No leaning closer to the tumbler and elbows off the table. If you miss then you have to drink. When the coin ends inside the tumbler you may ask a question to the other participant. The game only ends when the bottle is empty. Agreed?” “Sure, but I want to add something, the one that misses and has to drink, has to answer another question and all questions must be answered truthfully.” Lacy adds, before they both nods in agreement. “Ladies first.” Bradley agrees as he holds the coin between his thumb and index finger out to lacy. Before they could start the waiter comes to collect the empty plates from the table and Bradley order another round of beers. As soon as the waiter leaves Lacy starts the game. Aiming for the tumbler the coin leaves her hand with precision. This is one game Lacy is quite good at and a sly smirk forms around her lips as she watches the coin bounce once then twice and then as a wide eyed Bradley looks in amazement it bounces of the rim of the tumbler, falling next to it. “That was intentional, wasn’t it?” Bradley asks with narrowed eyes as he realizes Lacy purposefully missed the tumbler. “Mary and I used to play this with soda as kids.” Lacy chuckles. “Later it turned into a truth or dare game with liquor between the two of us and your first question I believe.” She chugged down the liquid, feeling it burn as she keeps her eyes locked on Bradley. “Your turn.” “I guess I should have chosen a different game then.” Bradley sighs as he lifts his hand to bounce the coin. The clinking of the coin against the glass makes Bradley’s shoulders droop pretending to suck at this game. “Ahh, come on Bradley, I know for a fact you can play this game with your eyes closed. If watched you play this a hundred times before.” Lacy says amused at Bradley’s attempted failure. “What to ask? What to ask?” She murmurs, tapping with her index finger on her chin, before she finally look speaks up. “Let’s go easy at first. What is your favourite song?” “Unforgiven by Metallica.” He answers instantly and taking his shot. “Okay, no more intentional failures.” Bradley smiles as he gesturing for Lacy to continue. The next coin she throws lands perfectly in the middle of the tumbler and an audible groan of defeat escapes Bradley’s lips. “Okay, Hubby.” Lacy smiles mockingly. “Oh, boy. That sounds so wrong.” He laughs before she can ask her question. “Why do you think your father signed the marriage certificate? He knows you hate me.” Lacy asks the question that’s been plaguing her mind all afternoon. “That question has been on my mind since I saw his signature on the certificate, but I will try to get an answer out of him as soon as her answers my calls. He seems to be avoiding me.” Bradley answers honestly. “May whole family’s phones seems to be on voicemail today.” She says a little dejectedly as Bradley takes the coin and drops it down on the table sending it soaring into the tumbler. “Why did you faint when I kissed you?” “Oh, boy.” Lacy sighs, taking a big gulp from her beer. “I don’t know, having my first kiss stolen must have done the trick, I guess.” “First kiss?” Bradley asks the words Josh said burning in his mind, he really thought he was just joking. “Yeah, somehow men find my dad really intimidating.” She sighs, twirling her bottle of beer in her hands as her eyes are strained on it. “And then the whole biker thing is frowned upon.” “So let me get this straight. You never got kissed before, because you are too much of a biker?” Bradley finds this very intriguing. “Yeah, somehow the guys that where interested in me ended up kissing Mary. Apparently they all never knew I had a twin and only assumed I decided to change from my boyish ways.” She explains throwing her hands in the air as she tries to find the right words. “I guess we are not playing anymore.” She says as she takes a gulp from the golden liquid straight from the bottle. Wiping her mouth with the back of her hand she continues: “Why do I have to be shaped into everyone else’s moulds? I just want to be my unique self in my unique way. So what if I like wearing my jeans, riding my bike and the feel of lace on my skin? Why does it matter if I like shopping with my twin or having girly days out with my mom? What does the fact that I wear visible lace shirts or dresses make me different or change my personality from the tomboy girl sitting at the bar with her leather jacket draped over her overly worn t-shirt hiding her lace bra?” Lacy asks the questions she asked herself a million times before, especially when Bradley called her fake. The flood of questions flowing unhindered from her lips causes Bradley to stare at her while the thoughts swirl through his brain. “This is way too heavy for a sober person, give that bottle here.” Bradley holds his hand out to her so she would give him the bottle, but she jerks it back cradling it to her chest. “There is no way I am not swapping spit with you.” She says pulling her face in a disgusting manner, before giving him the glass that is still half filled. Bradley could not contain his laughter at the look on her face any longer, causing him to give a pig like snort. “Hey, you remembered that blonde bimbo from earlier?” She asks, causing Bradley to stop laughing and look at her confusedly as he nods. “I guess you blew it. The look on her face tells me she is not that into pigs.” She laughs as she refers to the snort he gave. “Guess she dodged a bullet then.” Bradley chuckles, he would never admit it to Lacy, but she was actually very clever at insults, comebacks and making people laugh, she was also not someone that pondered too long on something that brought her down. “Oh, look at you finally accepting your true species.” Lacy says holding the bottle out to Bradley. “I thought you said you did not want to swap spit with me?” He asks after he took a big gulp from the bottle, before she could change her mind. “Nah, I figured your germs were all over my lips already, besides the alcohol disinfects instantly.” She says as she scrunches up her nose, making Bradley laugh again as he hands her bottle. The thought that she might not be what he always thought she was runs through his mind, but he blames the liquor for it. “I say let’s get drunk before we ask more questions.” Bradley retorts as his calculating dark almost black eyes never leaving hers. “Great minds…” She says as she lifts the bottle to her lips her eyes trained on his, challenging him. *_* Josh walks towards Clive as he enters the big gathering tent of the Beastly M.C members, his eyes focused just on Clive. Suddenly his view and route gets blocked by a fiery redheaded girl, the intense look in her eyes halting him in his steps. “What are you doing here?” She demands as she fiercely folds her arms across her body. “Excuse me? Do I know you?” Josh asks bewildered as he looks her up and down trying to place a name to the angry looking girl. Vaguely a bell rings in the back of his mind, but the name still eludes his brain. “Josh Michaels, do not pretend you do not know who I am! After everything your father did to mine and the Beastlys. How dare you show your face around our rally?” The green eyed girl continues as the fire burns in her emerald eyes. “What are you talking about?” Josh asks confused as to what she means by his father doing something to them. “Don’t play dumb. I know it is you. I would recognise you anywhere, besides I watched you leave from Dave’s house. In fact I talked to your buddy when you interrupted us. I strongly advise you to get away from here as soon as possible. We do not make kindly with Arch Angels members. You are all a lot of bastards.” The anger rises in her voice. Clive curiously watched the scene play out in front of him; slowly he makes his way to the two people. His mind racing as he tries to think of a different plan then the one they had all worked out according to Josh. If only Amy would have sticked to the plan, she is ruining everything. Standing next to Amy he swings his arm around her shoulders pretending to be a little drunk he slurs his words. “Ames, my dear, how about a dance?” Getting close to her face he makes sure she gets a good whiff of the liquor he purposely spilled on his shirt earlier. Hopefully he can get Amy away from Josh or at least get her to back off for a few hours until he can rectify the damage she has done. Josh’s mind suddenly lights up with understanding as he hears Clive call her Ames. Then the flash of red hair he saw that afternoon before they left swirls around in his mind making worry settle in to the pit of his stomach. ‘This plan is so doomed.’ “Clive, go away!” She yells at him disgusted, pushing him away with both her hands. He pretends to stumble and falls towards Josh. “Now Amy don’t be like that. Just one dance would not hurt would it?” He grabs towards her again catching her arm in his then he yanks her closer to him. He had to talk to her at least before the original plan can fall to pieces and make Josh suspicious. “Clive!” A demanding voice bombarded over the noise of the rowdy crowd. Instantly Clive looks defeated, without a word he drops Amy’s arm and turns around sulking his way back to his spot at the bar. Instantly Josh knew who this voice belonged to without even turning around. Clive gave him a subtle nod as he took his seat knowing that what happens next is up to Ethan and all he can do is hope Josh understands. “Just the person I wanted to see.” Josh says as he confidently turns around, his voice strong and unwavering. “What are you doing her, Michaels?” Ethan’s voice boomed again his stance intimidating, knowing that this meeting with Josh would end in an unexpected way for Josh. “I came to talk business.” Josh says a smirk on his face, their plan falling into place in a totally unexpected and unplanned way. The sooner he can get to Ethan the sooner they can all go back to their lives. This way he does not need to get Clive into trouble or get close to Amy and the best of all he does not need to become a Beastly prospect at all or wait a few days to talk to Ethan. “Why would I do business with you Josh?” Ethan asks as he takes a step closer to Josh giving him a calculating look. Immediately remembering that Josh was fed stories about him and why he was here. “Because, I have control over the M.C. now and I can give you what you wanted for the last two years.” Josh simply states knowing that Ethan still wants Arch Angels M.C as his runners and operating base for his drug deals. “Interesting.” Ethan replies as he gives Josh a once over look again. “I might have miss judged you, Michaels, but before I change my mind let’s talk first. Meet me at my tent in an hour.” Ethan demands as he turns around walking away a few steps, before he turns back to Josh: “Oh, and bring your friends.” Then addressing Amy he continues. “You can show them to me.” With that he leaves causing Amy to glare at his retreating back. “Oh, I hate you sometimes.” Amy growls to her father’s back in a whisper, feeling a bit hateful towards Ethan for leaving her the burden of spending time with Josh and his friends. This whole thing is dumb to her. “Meet me at the tent in five.” Josh demands into his phone within seconds after Ethan left. The seriousness of the situation edged onto his face. This has to work or they would be in big trouble and maybe even share in his father’s fate. “I hope you know that this is not going to work out as you planned it.” Amy snarls as she turns around and walks to the entrance of the tent. “I wish my dad never met yours.” “Ditto.” Josh says with venom edged in his voice. He is glad that he did not have to pretend to like her anymore.
