Ian excused himself, knowing Lilly would follow. Lilly excused herself from the dinner table. She was a bit shorter than his tall 6'1 muscular frame. Ian grabbed her hand as Lilly tried going towards the library on the first floor. She pulled her hand away quickly as Ian had burned her. That was fair. "The library is that way." Lilly blurted, pointing to the right. "I know where the library is, we are going to fill it out in my office. " Ian admitted, lightly pulling her with him up the stairs and to the right. Lilly let Ian guide her this time cautiously. They passed her and her sister's room and went to the further end of the hall towards Ian's office and bedroom. Lilly was tense. She was entering the wolf's den. Ian opened the door, letting her walk inside his lightly decorated green office. She gingerly looked around at the photos of trips Ian went on with his friend Darius and mate Chester. Lilly had met them a few times but only for a small amount of time. "How long has it been Lilly since I've last seen you? " Ian waited, walking towards her. She paused and lowered her head just a little to avoid his blue eyes. " Last summer, when you pushed me off the pier for mocking you in front of the wolves, " Lilly answered as she touched her shoulder that Ian had clawed when he was nine. Lilly always touched it when he did something to her. Ian hated that damn mark. He wanted to heal it for her, but she refused, saying it was a reminder to not get close to a wolf. "Do you have anything you'd like to say to me?" Ian muses at her. Lilly was avoiding eye contact. Ian laughed and stopped in front of her. Lilly narrowed her eyes at him but didn't say anything. " I'm sorry Ian. " Ian spoke slowly, trying to coax it. Lilly folded her arms across her breast and slightly tilted her hip to the side, annoyed. Ian smirked as he was getting to her. "You should be the one apologizing." " If you don't say it, I won't fill out your application." Ian mocked, knowing it was a low card to deal but knew it would get her to look at him. Lilly glared up at him with her hazel eyes before sighing. He smiled. "I'm sorry for making you look like a fool in front of your potential mates," Lilly retorted, putting her hands on her hips. Ian couldn't help but notice when she did her chest jiggled just a bit, making him want to lick her breast. Ian grabbed her and pinned her against the window. Lilly gasped, looking at him frightened and aroused. He could hear her heart pounding in her chest and her breath coming out at a soft, frantic rhythm. Lilly was starting to panic already; she was truly frightened of him. He really couldn't blame her. "You think so little of me. That is fair since I haven't been the nicest person to you", Ian murmured, pressing his face against her chest and listening to her heart. Ian could feel her stiffen between the window and him. He could feel himself ache as she trembled from his touch. Lilly had her eyes closed. It hurt him to see her tremble from his touch. "I'm not going to hurt you, Lilly. " Ian whispered, letting his hands fall to her hips loosely. Lilly looked at him for a long moment, searching his eyes for deceit. Lilly could only see the truth. Ian felt her slowly relax, and her breathing became normal again. Ian stood still for a long moment listening to her heart. Lilly gingerly put her arms around him, holding Ian to her. He felt all the stress and tension leaving his body, only leaving peace. Ian sighed, closing his eyes. Ian smiled, listening to her heart for a moment longer. "Budum. Budum. Budum. budum budum. budum. budum." "Ian?" Lilly murmured, breaking the silence between the two. Lilly didn't know how long they had been holding each other. It had been nice, but she wanted to get enrolled in class. "mmmm. " Ian murmured, quickly coming out of the comforting daze. "We need to get me enrolled," Lilly said softly, letting her hold on Ian go. Ian held back the groan from the loss of her embrace. "Please go sit on the desk. " Ian said, running his hand through his hair. Lilly quickly went to the desk, sitting on the edge of his black walnut work desk. It didn't make a noise since she barely weighed enough to stop the wind from carrying her away for an 18-year-old. Ian would have to make sure she was eating enough at college. She pulled on the short front of her dress, trying to hide her exposed thighs from Ian. Ian's wolf lurches forward, almost gaining control. Ian pushed him back, annoyed by the beast. Ian stopped her from squirming on the desk by touching her leg. Lilly gasped. Ian tried hard to ignore her slight gasp, as it made his wolf stir more. Ian looked into her innocent hazel-colored eyes, seeing Lilly's eyes were shifting to a golden hue, due to her half-blood. Ian looked away, moving his hand to the side to keep himself in check. "Lilly, you can't let anyone else in your space like I am. Okay?" Ian said, making her look at him. She pressed her hands on his chest. "Why are you affecting me like this?" she questioned, looking up with confused ember eyes. Ian could tell she was fighting for control over her emotions. Ian looked away from her, trying to ignore his urges, and cleared his throat. "You're just attracted to me, Lilly. You can't let people in your space like I am, if they don't get the hint, use what you learn in self-defense." Ian added, moving from her. "I've never defended myself before, Ian" Lilly growled, to object, but stopped herself as she saw Ian glare. His power washed over her, making her feel sick. "It's time you stopped being a pampered pet and learned about the real world beyond the pack." "You could have just told me that without invading my space, Ian." She retorted, looking away from him. Ian tilted her chin up, making her look into his blue eyes. He could see arousal mixed with confusion in her shifting eyes. "Is it that bad being this close to me? " Ian smirked, leaning only a few inches from her lips. Lilly drops the front, showing the shy girl. She looked up at him under her thick lashes before shaking her head 'No'. Her face was flushed a bright red against her olive-pale skin. Ian wanted to lean in and kiss her, but he had to be patient. She was a gorgeous book nerd with slender curves, and broad shoulders yet soft in the right areas. Sweet and super smart. She is very shy. If someone makes her uncomfortable, she freezes. Going to an academy full of raging hormones, she would be doomed without him. She has been pampered and taken care of her whole life. Ian has seen the world, it isn't pretty. He learned how to take care of himself without a servant, and she would do the same. Ian was still close to her and leaned further, seeing what she would do. Lilly hadn't moved to push him away from her. "You can push me away if you don't like me in your space" Ian whispered against her ear. Lilly didn't move. "I'm fighting my emotions." She whispered. Ian stood still, giving her a few more moments to find her courage. Lilly gently pushed him lightly away, not looking at him. Ian moved away from her, going around his desk to start on her application. It was a start. His parents had made her weak by protecting her so much. No wonder her wolf was dormant. "If you can't stand up for yourself, then you're going to be prey at the academy." Ian cautioned, glancing at her. Lilly was looking down at her hands ashamed. Ian didn't want her to feel bad for herself; he wanted her to stand up for herself. "You're free to look pretty, but if you do. I would rather you were sitting at my desk looking at me, smiling." Ian commented, not looking up from his computer. He knew it would get her out of her sulking. "Excuse me?" she challenged, looking at him. Ian smirked. "I have all your information on my computer. I just wanted you to entertain me while I work." Ian remarked, knowing it would strike a nerve. If he spent any more time with her, she would be in trouble. He was fighting against his soul bond and his wolf. "For a moment there, I thought you were trying to help me." Lilly barked, pulling her phone from her corset top. Ian was surprised she could fit anything in the pink corset dress since she filled it out very well. "I am trying to help you. Guys will try getting into your space. You must be strong to tell them no." Ian countered. "That's why you're there to protect me from creeps." Lilly smiled. "I have alpha duties and classes. I can't be there all the time, Lilly. " Ian answered. "I'm an outcast. No one messes with the outcast, " Lilly argued. Ian almost laughed. She may be an outcast, but a gorgeous one. "Outcasts also go missing because of that reason," Ian countered, not wanting to tell her the true horrors he had seen in the infected cities. "Fine, but you have to help me when I get hurt." Lilly huffed and began playing a piano song on her phone. She placed it on the desk and got into a stance. Ian watched pleased as she slowly started moving her body to the music. Ian didn't think she would perform for only him, but she was stunning as she danced. Every leap in the air landed lightly back down, and every spin that ended with her swaying and spinning or her balancing on her tiptoes reflected her emotion to the music. Her slow moments reminded him of the flow of water as she dipped down before a jump. Ian got lost watching her movements. Lilly was so graceful and cautious of every move she made; almost like she didn't want to show too much raw emotion. She was almost a silent moth dancing in the lantern fluttering back and forth in the light. When she finally stopped dancing, did Ian realize he was not filling out her applications. Ian cleared my throat to get her attention. Lilly looked like she had been startled out of a daze. She bowed and stood up, catching her breath. "You can leave Lilly. Thank you for the dance." Ian murmured, starting on her application. Ian could feel her looking at him wanting more from him. He ignored her typing her information, "Jerk" he heard her growl lightly before leaving. Ian smiled at her insult not phased.
