Lilly's alarm went off, waking Lillianna up. She had awoken curled up beside Ian as he slept peacefully. Ian groaned as he tried to find his alarm without looking. Lilly rubbed her eyes, getting the sleep out of them before stretching. Ian found the alarm shutting it off and sighing before laying his arm over his eyes.
"What time did we end up going to bed?" Ian groans.
"Around three." Lilly yawned, getting up. Ian whined pulling her back to him and making her laugh.
"We have to get ready. " Lilly demanded, booping his nose with her finger. Ian smiled up at her moving her hair from her face.
"You're so beautiful. " Ian mumbled, caressing her cheek. Lilly looked at him for a moment before gently moving away from him to get ready for school. It was Friday and the full moon was on Saturday. She had one day to do something outside of school before needing to be back there for Ian to be caged for the night.
"Would you take me out after tonight?" Lilly asked, stopping at his door frame. Ian looked up at her.
"Yeah, I could take you to the lake where we usually hang out to get away from the college." Ian smiled.
"That sounds like fun." Lilly smiled back before getting ready for the studious day. Business, history, and herbology.
She liked her herbology class but wished history was moving faster. They were still learning about the Civil War period. She wanted to be told what happened to cause the great downfall of humankind.
Lilly decided she would put all her hair up. Lilly put a black tank under her white button-up to help cover her cleavage. She placed her choker Ian had got her on and decided to wear her black cat thigh-high socks. The cat's ears just barely peeked out from her black school skirt.
"Ready? " Ian asked through her door.
"Ready." Lilly smiled, grabbed her bag opening the door. Ian was leaning against the wall waiting. He seemed less tense than last week, Lilly noticed. He held out his hand for her to take. Lilly felt her face turning red but slipped her hand into his. She knew it was new for them to be getting along so great. It was weird for her, but she couldn't help but like it. She still didn't trust him fully, since it had only been a week with him at the college, he hadn't made it easy on her either. They still had the first semester to get through.
Ian led them through the hall making sure Lilly was close due to the crowded hall. Lilly could see gargoyle horns on a few of the super-tall males. She had never seen a gargoyle. They were supposed to be one of the toughest warriors the supernatural clans had. She also knew if it was rain, they would be useless due to them solidifying. They had to wear special clothing to keep them dry during rainy battles.
Lilly looked away to not catch anyone's eye. It was harder for humans to look away from some supernatural due to the glamor effect they had on halflings as well. They made it to history class two minutes before the bell. Darius and Chester were already there, looking radiant as always. Chester almost jumped out of his seat when he saw Lilly and Ian holding hands.
"turning to the dark side." Chester grinned at her; Lillianna rolled her eyes taking her seat by Chester while Ian sat behind her.
"You coming to the lake tonight?" Lilly Countered. Chester's grin got bigger. Lilly noticed his white teeth looked a bit sharper than normal but shook it off.
"Yes, we have to catch up. " Chester cheered, giving Darius a look before turning back to Lilly beaming. Mr. Pike walked in, clearing his scratchy throat.
"Good morning class. Today we finished learning about the civil war and on to world war. Get your books out and turn to page 55." Mr. Pike said sitting down at his desk and turning on the projector so we could see where he was during the lecture. Lilly took notes so she wouldn't fall asleep she had already known about this part of history. If she wanted to learn she would have to read ahead so she knows the truth.
In business class, Lilly was struggling a bit to comprehend the terminology. She would always have to rewrite the term and put it to use before she could get it memorized. She enjoyed the herbology class. They were studying astringent herbs and the benefits and downfalls of the plant, including yarrow, Canadian fleabane, and witch hazel.
Lilly shut her books as the bell rang to dismiss them. Lilly still had a self-defense class which was teaching her how to block and defend against hidden attackers. She was still getting bruised but not as bad as when she first started. Hopefully, by the end of the semester, she will be able to just take her opponent down no matter what size they are.
"Lilly you will be paired up with Chase today." Sensi Liam ordered pairing everyone off. She knew she would end up at the end fighting Chester like normal. Every practice they defended against three classmates. Chase was an intern student from a neighboring wolf pack. Lilly knew of his clan but knew nothing of them. Lilly didn't talk much to the other kids in her defense class other than Chester. Making her think that Sensi Liam was trying to get her out of their social bubble.
"Don't we look cute today in our cat socks. " Chase commented as they entered the circle arena. Lilly tilted her head trying to figure out if he was being sarcastic or not. He was taller than her by a head. His black hair was spiked with gel, his green eyes watching her carefully. He was the best fighter in the class but also the meanest.
"Thanks. " Lilly murmured, moving slightly away from him before their Sensi gave them five minutes to let each other take the other down. Lilly knew that Chase had no weakness. He was in tip-top shape. He was a halfling like her, but he had the perks of his wolf, she didn't. Chase was the best student in the class and Lilly was just managing not to get bruised by the other students. Chase was always giving her bruises.
"I'm feeling good." Chance smirked waiting for Sensi to tell them to go. Lilly kept her stance loose hoping she could at least manage to block him for the five minutes.
"Begin." Sensi Liam called moving from the circle and watching the two. Chase faked an attack on Lilly. Lilly blocked her arm waiting. Lilly hissed when she felt her arm starting to sting. He had hit her without her realizing. Lilly jumped back trying to watch him. Chase smirked coming at her quickly catching her feet and making her fall. He was too quick for her to track.
Lilly twisted as she fell, rolling to the side trying to kick his leg from under him but failed again. Chase jumped away before pouncing at her, pinning her down to the floor. Lilly was mad but knew she wasn't going to defeat Chase. He wasn't human, even though he looked like one. He squeezed her wrists making her slightly moan in pain making Chase grin down at her pleased.
"Release and try again. This time Chase gets behind Lilly. Lilly will use your body to flip him over you." Sensi Liam Instructed. Chase got off her quickly and helped Lilly up. Lilly cried out as pain shot through her wrist.
"Stop." Sensi Liam ordered rushing to the two. Liam took Lilly's wrist in his hand to examine them. Lilly was trying to keep from crying in front of the class, but her wrist hurt, Chase had squeeze her wrist hard. Sensi touched her wrist, making her cry out in pain. Chester jumped up running to Lilly's side and touching her arm.
"What did you do?" Sensi Liam ordered looking at Chase.
"I didn't mean to, not my fault some of the students are fragile. I pinned her down." Chase blurted. Sensi glared at him, moving him away from Lilly. Lilly wanted to kick chase if Sensi was not in the way.
"Take Lilly to the nurse's office Mr. Owen, Chase you will be helping him." sensi ordered turning back to settle the class down. Chester gently helped Lilly out of the classroom with Chase behind them.
"Are you going to apologize to her, or do I have to make you?" Chester ordered breaking the silence. Lilly didn't want to talk to him, she wanted her wrist to stop hurting. She heard Chase growl.
"I'm sorry for hurting you, Lilly. " Chase grumbled. Lilly knew he didn't mean it.
"Apology denied unless you mean it." Lilly insisted, trying to sound stern.
"That isn't how it's supposed to work!" Chase barked out. Chester laughed smiling at Lilly.
"You heard the girl you hurt. If you don't mean it then she won't accept it." Chester stated proud Lilly stood her ground. Chase sighed annoyed as he opened the door to the nurse's office.
A red-headed, pale-skinned lady was sitting at a desk with a computer. She looked up as they entered the room.
"Have a seat on the table." She motioned to Lillianna. Lilly did as she was told with the help of Chester.
"What happened?" the redhead said looking at the two boys and Lilly.
"I got a bit rough in self-defense and accidentally hurt Lillianna. " Chase answered sheepishly.
"You know your werewolf traits are strong Chase, do I need to take you out of self-defense?"
"No, Mrs. Riven. I want to be in that class!" Chased pleaded quickly.
"One more incident this semester and you are out." Mrs. Riven said getting some red slave out of her desk and putting it on Lilly's wrist. Her touch was so light Lilly didn't realize she had wrapped her wrist already. Mrs. Riven stopped looking at Lilly for a moment, touching her face lightly.
"Relax for the rest of the period and take it off after dinner." Mrs. Riven said glaring at Chase again.
"Last chance Chase." Mrs. Riven ordered before waving them out. They walked back to the dojo training room and sat by the wall. Chester helped Lilly sit and then sat by her. Chase stood watching the two opponents flip each other over. Lilly was glad when class was over. Ian looked worried when he saw her wrist in bandages. Sensi Liam quickly came to tell him there had been a small incident but it was taken care of.
"It had better be taken care of. " Ian barked, gently guiding Lilly towards the dorms.
"I'm fine I can go eat. " Lilly mumbled.
"We will go eat but not at the cafeteria tonight." Ian smiled, opening the door for her. Lilly smiled at him.
"Where are we going to?" Lilly asked.
"it's a small ma-and-pop shop just outside the lake we are hanging out at. We always stop in for a bite." Ian boasted. Lilly was interested because she had never been to a small restaurant. She had only been to fancy high-class restaurants.
"Do I need a dress?" Lilly asked only to get a chuckle from Ian.
"No, you could wear a pair of jeans and a tee and fit right in with the locals of the town. They are more laid back than the restaurant you're used to." Ian added, helping her get to her door.
"If you need help, I could help you?" Ian commented.
"My wrist doesn't hurt that bad but thank you." Lilly rolled her eyes going into her room and shut the door. She hadn't lied to him, her wrist was feeling better, just a slight sore. Lilly took out a dark orange long-sleeve shirt that had long lace sleeves and a navy blue knee-length skirt that had dark orange flowers scattered on it. She chose to wear her black sandals so she could still walk around the lake. It was mid-August, and the weather was still a bit warm but at night was perfect. She left her hair in the bun. Ian was waiting by the door patiently.
