Lilly woke up with Ian's phone alarm going off. He groaned, slapping it off and lying back in bed next to her. 'How did I end up in his bed?' Lilly thought; shaking her head remembering the late gaming session and started getting ready for school, not waking him up. Her school uniform, thankfully, was modest other than the v-cut button-up blouse that showed a bit of her plump breast.
"Lilly, are you still here?" Ian called, pulling the covers off. Lilly looked away to avoid his half-naked body as he came strolling out of his room. But damn, he was fit.
"Please go put some clothes on. " Lilly mumbled, still not looking at him. Ian grabbed Lilly's waist, pulling her towards him. Lilly looked up at him, watching him carefully.
"Happy late birthday." Ian smiled, revealing an expensive-looking choker; it had three diamond chains on each side before meeting a sapphire jewel in the middle and a silver-plated Lilly flower dangling in the center.
It was beautiful. Lilly looked at him confused. He had never given her a birthday present before. Why now?
"Thank you, but why give me a present now?" Lilly asked, watching him carefully. He smirked, watching her for a moment, caressing her cheek.
"I can never get anything past you. You're an elite, dress like one and act like a Princess. Don't embarrass me here. I have a reputation to uphold." He smirked, helping put it on Lilly. Lilly let him smile at the gift.
"You're such a sweet Jerk" Lilly smirked.
"I'll take that." Ian chucked before letting her go and strutting back to his room in his boxer.
"Why am I attracted to that beast? " Lilly thought as she finished getting her bag ready.
"You'll be in every class I have and after class, you will be going to a defense class while I'm at practice. I will come get you after I'm done." Ian said finally, decent and in his uniform.
lilly blushed, looking away from his white button-up that was stretched over his broad muscular chest. Did he intentionally buy smaller shirts? Lillianna quickly fixed the blue bow in her hair, trying to ignore how his muscles flexed as he moved in his school uniform. He was attractive for a wolf, but he still had a lot to redeem in Lilly's eyes. He cleared his throat, waiting for her at the door.
"What about my art classes?" Lilly asked, trying to ignore her thoughts.
"Relax princess, it's the first semester. " Ian smirked.
"Fine. " Lilly said quickly, going out the door and looking down. Lilly could hear other people in the surrounding hall, making her tense.
"Ready for your first day Lilly," Lilly heard Darius say. She smiled, relaxing a bit.
"I'm excited. " Lilly murmured, feeling Chester beside her. He slid his hand into her, squeezing it gently. Lilly relaxed from his contact. Ian didn't seem to like that Chester held her hand but didn't say anything. Instead, he grabbed her other hand in his.
"Good. Let's get the day over that." Darius smirked before talking about studies and sports with Ian.
"We will be in almost all the same classes, " Chester whispered to Lilly excitedly. Lilly giggled at Chester, excited that she would at least have a friend in class.
"What do we do in the classrooms? I've only had tutors", Lilly said, not knowing how a school works since she was taught at the mansion.
"We sit in a row of desks and the teacher comes in. they talk about the subject, and you take notes. Then sometimes they test you on what they taught. "Chester whispered back as we entered the classroom. It was set up like a science room. There were tables divided with two seats at each. Chester pulled her to the seats across from Ian and Darius.
"Today we will be starting with testing to see how intelligent all your students are." A gray-haired man who looked like he came from the grave Shuffled in. The room was filled with groans as he passed out the test. He was humming softly to himself as he did smirking. Lilly wondered if his skin would fall off if the wind blew too hard.
"You can start Lilly. " Chester said as he started filling his out. Lilly grabbed a pen from her blue bag and started the test. It was simple scientific problems that you had to solve. Lilly smiled, feeling confident as she went through the questions. After she was done, Lilly sat looking at the whiteboard.
The grey-haired man looked at me for a moment and then at a clipboard.
"Ms. Carter, I don't think staring at a wall is going to give you the answers." He said grumpily.
"Sorry sir, I'm done with my test. I didn't know what we do after we finished," Lilly said politely. She could hear a few of the students snickering at her. The grey-haired man glared at her before getting up from the old-looking wooden desk and taking her test to grade it.
After he was finished, He looked at Lilly with almost a smile. If you call a twitch at the corner of his lip a grin.
"Go into the hall Ms. Carter and wait for me." He said before a few other students gave him their test.
"Yes, sir. " Lilly said confused, grabbing her bag. There was a bench outside every room. It was weird to her, but living at school was weird as well.
"Do you think you're in trouble? " Chester asked as he came out of the classroom.
"Why would I be in trouble?" Lilly responded, looking at Chester puzzled. Chester giggled, looking at her amused.
"You've never been to school, have you?" Chester said, amazed.
"Well, usually when you get called out by a teacher. They usually have something to say to you. It can either be bad or good. " He said holding her hand and waiting for Darius and Ian.
"Mr. Williams, would you mind letting me talk to Lilly for a moment." The gray-haired man asked.
"Sure, Mr. Bell. " Chester said as he spotted Darius grabbing his things.
"Lilly, you aced my test perfectly. If you would like to move on to the next level, I could get that arranged for you. Instead of doing basic science, you would be getting into chemistry, but you wouldn't have anyone to help you in class." Mr. Bell said, rubbing his thick grey beard. He reminded her almost of a wizard she had read in a book one time.
"I would like to do that Sir. It doesn't bother me to figure things out on my own, but my protector needs to be with me." Lilly said confidently.
"Tomorrow when I pass out books. I'll be giving you a different book and workbook as well, so you can hopefully inspire Mr. William to get his grades up." He said before going back into the classroom. Ian finally came out of the classroom.
"Already getting in trouble, " Ian asked, smirking.
"No, I have been moving up since I passed the test. The teacher thinks I can help you with your studies as well," Lilly said proudly. Ian chuckled.
"You're such a nerd. I'm passing with a c-" He laughed.
"But you need this nerd to pass with an A+, " Lilly added. Ian stopped laughing. Lilly laughed as Ian took them to their next class. It was Art History. Lilly smiled, thankful Ian had given her at least one art class this semester. Even if it was art history.
"Good morning class. We will be learning about the Renaissance era for the first three weeks of school. I want all my students to take notes. They will be graded weekly." The female vampire was ordered to look at every one of her students before beginning the presentation. Lilly quickly started writing down everything the teacher told us. The teacher would go on. Lilly quickly drew the outside of school with trees and plants around the border of the paper. It had fascinating textures to draw.
Ian scooted closer to see what she had drawn. Lilly looked up at him, but he was looking back to listen to the teacher.
The rest of the classes went by quickly with her taking notes or hearing what they would be learning throughout the semester. Lilly was very relieved when it was lunchtime. Ian sat beside her at lunch but only talked to Darius and a few other football players.
Lilly didn't mind since Chester introduced her to Mina. She was a muse like them, trying to get out of entertainment life. She wanted to be a nurse but had to do her basics before she could start college classes.
"What are you going to school for?" Mina asked with a slight twang in her voice.
"Business and art. " Lilly said, eating her chicken and dumplings with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans.
"Oh, so you still want to live with your protectors like lover boy is?" Mina said pointing at Chester. He chuckled nervously before looking away.
"I mean to help with the business side and get to do art on the side doesn't sound bad, then I can build my own home, but that will take years so until then I'll be living with my guardian. " Lilly said not seeing a problem being with her family while She worked until she could get on her feet. Chester smiled as he finished his food. Mina didn't say anything after that just twirled her light brown hair and looked on her phone. She reminded me of an e-girl with all the bright pastel colors she had on.
After lunch, They had three more classes to take notes in. Lilly's hand hurt from all the writing she had done. Lilly didn't realize school had a lot of things you had to write down. Ian patted her head before taking her to her training class.
"Be good and try not to get hurt too bad. " Ian joked playfully before leaving her in a dojo-style room. Lilly saw Chester wave at her through the other students. There were a lot more females than there were men in the class. Lilly went to him and waited for the teacher.
"Afternoon class today we will go over simple self-defense moves. It helps me assess where you all need improvement in." The black hair male said. He was wearing a black kimono and a wooden sword at his side. He seemed like a human, but Lilly knew something was off about him but didn't know what.
He split us up into groups and let each other attack the other. Lilly had blocked well but She didn't have any strength to hurt her opponent. Lilly had got kicked a few times to her arm and legs; making her fall but Lilly got back up attacking the best as She could.
"Lilly use your weight when you attack. It will be more effective, " The teacher said before walking off. By the time class got over Lilly was getting the hang of not getting hit. Ian had come to get her; Lilly was sore and could already see a few bruises showing up on her arms.
"We will see you guys at dinner. " Darius said walking away with Chester. Lilly nodded, and rubbed her bruised arm, not looking at Ian. She felt like she had gotten a beating.
"Do they hurt?" Ian asked, trying to touch Lilly's arm. She moved her arm away.
"I'm fine. " Lilly said softly. He lifted her chin, making Lilly look up at him.
"Let me heal you, Lilly. I promised you I would heal you." Ian coaxed gently. Lilly nodded, letting him pull her along to the dorms.
"They will heal on their own. " Lilly murmured, already regretting it. Ian opens the door and shuts it behind them.
"Go change, so I can heal them. " Ian said, leaning against the bed.
"You can only heal the ones that are showing. " Lilly said, trying to hold her ground. Lilly looked up, feeling herself freeze. Ian's eyes were yellow as he stalked towards her. He lifted her arm, cutting each bruise before licking each mark. It felt like a small bug bite. Lilly watched slightly, memorizing that his wolf salvia was healing them almost instantly.
"Lilly stay still." He ordered, touching the bruise that was on her upper leg. Lilly was ticklish and every small brush of his fingers made her giggle and move away. He cut it and licked it before she could react.
"thank you. " Lilly said, pulling away from him and hiding her blushing face. He lightly laughed.
"I feel weird. " Lilly murmured, still not turning around.
"Go take a shower then, " Ian said huskily. Lilly moved towards the bathroom; she did not want him to see her flustered. Lillianna locked the door and began letting the hot water run. She quickly got undressed and got in the shower. Lillianna relaxed in the water sighing as the heat made her sore muscles relax and forgetting Ian was in the other room.
Lilly sighed and started singing 'Into the West' as she rinsed her hair. That is when Lilly realized she hadn't brought extra clothes before she got in. Lillianna sighs, scrubbing herself with honey-scented soap and rinsing off. She grabbed the largest towel and wrapped it around herself. Lilly could do this it was a short distance from her room. Just run and get into her room. Lillianna opened the door, running blindly to her room. She gasped, feeling her foot slip on the different floor surface, making her flair out. Ian was quickly there holding her steady. Lilly let out a panicky breath trying to get her heart from her throat.
"You ok? " Ian asked moving Lillianna's hair from her face. She knew he could feel her body shaking. Lilly laughed lightly, standing up and holding the front of her towel for dear life. Trying to act like she hadn't seen her life flash before her eyes.
"yes. " She choked out. Lilly was glad the towel had stayed around her, or she would have wished she had died. Lillianna could already see Ian telling everyone. She flashed him. Lilly didn't want Maria and Alistair thinking she couldn't handle college. She didn't want to be a muse. It was for people who like paying attention to them and Lilly didn't want attention to her.
"I forgot my clothes. " Lilly said, laughing nervously, and ran into her bedroom, shutting the door quickly.
'Why couldn't she act normal around him for one second without making an i***t out of herself.' Lillianna thought as she got dressed in my black workout shorts, a matching tank top that had a white star in the middle of it and her black sneakers. When Lilly came out, Ian was nowhere in sight. She sighed, finding a white container with a note on it.
"Took too long. So, I brought you something back from the cafeteria."
Lilly didn't understand why she felt hurt that she had to eat by herself. She had never eaten alone. Lilly sighed, pulled out her homework, and started eating as she read through her notes.
After a few hours, Lilly got her homework finished. She stretched looking out of her room. Ian had left her alone after the shower incident. Lilly was glad, since she still needed to put her room together. She begins unpacking her belongings. She placed her book lap and her books on the shelf that was beside her bed. She also places her sketchbook and a photo of her grandma holding her sister Rose in the gardens. Their smiles were as bright as the yucca flowers that were all around them. Lillianna was missing them but knew she had to do this for herself.
After organizing her clothes by color, Lilly looked at the clock. It was already midnight. She yawned, getting into bed.
