The Return of Nasty Eyes
Rather than go back to the hotel, Ju-Wo took the bus downtown to the school she was supposed to be enrolled in. She found the library and asked to speak to a librarian. A woman came out from a back room.
“May I help you?” she asked.
Ju-Won asked if there was a job available in the library she could apply for.
“I haven’t seen you here before,” she said. “Are you a student here?”
“Yes, but I’ve been ill,” Ju-Won replied.
The librarian told Ju-Won that all available positions were taken at the beginning of the semester and advised her to come back at the beginning of the next term. Ju-Won rested for a moment in the quiet of the library and then left.
