Neymax made it a point that he arrives early at the pack meeting so that he can sit at the far end of the table although this meeting was to discuss his so called behavior. He didn't understand what behavior they were talking about cause for him he was in pain, his wolf blamed him for his mate reaction at the events that took place as if he wasn't there and saw everything for himself. In his mind he had thought the incident will bring their mate closer to them but it had turned out to be something else.
