"Damn it, I had that dream again," I said. "Did I just cry out? I wonder if he heard me?"
I cursed myself inwardly for being so useless, but outwardly, I forced myself to remain calm.
"Thank you for waking me up. I just had a nightmare."
Hunter didn't seem suspicious. He nodded and said, "Yeah, with everything that's happened these past few days, it's no wonder you'd have nightmares."
Who would have thought that I, a dignified Alpha, would be so concerned about the opinion of a human male?
"It's getting late. You should sleep too," I said, changing the subject.
Hunter glanced at his watch and nodded. "Alright, let's get some rest. We have a tough battle ahead of us tomorrow."
He climbed into the driver's seat, reclined the seatback, and got into a sleeping position.
