Chapter 2: Unexpected Reunion

803 Words
That morning, after leaving the small street, Ha Vy tried to forget the strange moment between her and the strange man. She told herself that it was just a chance encounter, nothing to worry about. But her heart was still beating faster than usual. Even though she tried to calm down, Ha Vy still couldn't forget that deep gaze - a cold gaze but seemed to contain something very unpredictable. She shook her head, trying to get rid of those thoughts and focus on the important thing at hand: the job interview. ---------------- MK Finance Company - The starting point of destiny The headquarters building of MK Group is located right in the city center, a modern building with glass reflecting the morning sunlight. When Ha Vy stepped into the lobby, she felt the professionalism emanating from the scenery to each employee passing by. She took a deep breath. This was where she wanted to work, where she could fulfill her dream of going far in the financial industry. "Are you the candidate for the financial analyst position?" A receptionist asked with a smile. "Yes!" Ha Vy replied. "Please follow me." She was led to a spacious waiting room where several other candidates were already waiting. Everyone had a tense expression on their faces. She quickly glanced at the list of candidates and realized that she was the last one to be interviewed. Time passed slowly. When the last person before her entered the meeting room, Ha Vy's heart started to beat faster. She clenched her hands to calm herself. After a few minutes, the door opened. An employee walked out and looked at her. "Ms. Ha Vy, please come into the interview room." She stood up, took a deep breath, and walked in. But as soon as the door closed, her heart stopped beating. The person sitting in the middle seat – the main judge – was none other than the man she had met this morning. A moment of surprise For a moment, both of them were stunned. But unlike Ha Vy’s surprise, the other man appeared extremely calm, as if he had never met her before. “Sit down.” – His voice was warm but stern. Ha Vy slowly pulled the chair to sit down, trying to stay calm. It turned out that he was Minh Vu – the CFO of MK Group. She had heard his name before. Minh Vu was a famous figure in the financial world, known for his decisiveness, coldness, and excellent market analysis ability. But no one mentioned that he was… so handsome. The interview began. Minh Vu showed no signs of favoritism or recognition of her. He simply asked sharp professional questions. "With these financial figures, if you were the decision maker, how would you handle it?" "In the event of a market crisis, what strategy would you propose?" Ha Vy concentrated on answering. Despite her nervousness, she still maintained her confident demeanor and sharp arguments. After all, she could not let Minh Vu's presence affect this opportunity. After about thirty minutes, the interview ended. Minh Vu looked at her for a long time and then nodded slightly. "Thank you. You can go out." Ha Vy stood up, bowed, and walked out of the room. Only when the door closed behind her did she realize that her palms were sweaty. Would she be accepted? And why did Minh Vu completely ignore the meeting this morning? An unexpected decision In the conference room, the judges began to discuss the candidate. One person spoke up: "Ha Vy has a good foundation, solid professional knowledge. But she is young, and doesn't have much practical experience." Another person agreed: "That's right, but I see that she has potential for development. She answers very sharply." Everyone looked at Minh Vu. He was silent for a moment, then slowly said: "We need someone who can learn and adapt quickly. I agree to hire her." The decision was made. Good news and concerns Ha Vy received the results the next day. When she opened the email and saw the words "Congratulations on your admission", she couldn't believe her eyes. She did it! This surprise was really too big for her. But the joy quickly gave way to another worry. She would have to work under Minh Vu. Did he really not remember that meeting? Or was he deliberately ignoring her? Ha Vy didn't know that, in another place in the city, Minh Vu was standing in front of the office window, his eyes distant. He remembered the girl that morning very clearly. But the reason he recruited her wasn't because of that chance encounter. But because, for some reason, when he looked into her determined eyes, he felt like... he wanted to try to put his trust in her once.
