“Impossible.” Anna shook her head in disbelief. A fresh whisp of air flew by us, and her pale hair snapped into her face, a strand sticking to her lip gloss. The scent of her strawberry shampoo swept by me, nauseatingly sweet. “Impossible.”
“What?”
“You can’t resist an Alpha command,” she said, voice cracking with anger.
“Look, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I shrugged. “But it clearly doesn’t work—”
“Kael!”
Anna shoved by me, shoulder knocking roughly with mine, toward Kael, who couldn’t seem to decide whether or not he wanted to be a part of this conversation.
“This wolfless girl is ignoring my command,” scoffed Anna. “First she offends you and now this?” The girl’s polished nails dug into Kael’s arm. “What are you going to do about it?”
