CHAPTER 27 ‘It’s him!’ I shouted triumphantly as I waved the paper in front of Liliad. Flinging my arms wide in sheer exuberance I danced around the room before dropping onto the seat beside her. Liliad’s eyes, wide with disbelief, were transfixed on the paper. I calmed down enough to read the results out to her before clutching it to my breast like a beloved child. ‘You don’t have to say it, I know, I’ve got to calm down and take things slowly. Don’t worry, I’m not going to be so stupid as to rush up and fling my arms around him and announce that I’m his long lost child. I realise it’s going to come as a huge shock; he’ll need time to come to terms with it but when he does … well, there are so many possibilities. We could set up home together, not up on The Head, down here in the villag
