Zariel exited the bathroom and strode slowly to the window giving a good view of the school's main gate. The sight was beautiful. To get a better view, he went to the balcony. Standing from such height, he realized it was evening already.
The cool evening breeze carried the scent of the sea. The island was painted in a soft golden hue left by the setting sun. From his position, he could make out few students sitting idly in the compound probably also enjoying the view. It seemed most of them went to bed early. Was Michael also asleep?
Zariel groaned realizing his thoughts were going to the redhead again. He left the balcony, softly closing the double glass doors. Going into the room, he saw Stanley lying on the bed in deep thought, his legs resting on the carpeted floor. He had been this way since they came to the suite. Wasn't he comfortable? Or was he just anxious about the deal?
Zariel sat softly on the other side of the bed. "Stan, is everything alright?" he asked. While growing up, Stanley had been haunted with the image and memories of his parents death. Zariel had stood for him, coaxing and petting him until he grew confident.
Stanley shifted his gaze to the side of the bed and acknowledged his friend with a smile. "I'm fine," he replied curtly. But his white haired friend was not buying that.
"But you look worried. Talk to me, Stan. We promised never to keep things from each other. Tell me what's wrong. I don't like seeing you—"
"No Zariel, nothing is wrong. I'm fine," Stanley said and abruptly sat up. He didn't like seeing his friend worried. "Something happened at the school restaurant today that left me confused, that's all."
"What happened, tell me." The inquisitive part of Zariel kicked in.
Stanley scratched his head and started talking, "It was this guy. He sat a table with some students. I don't know what pushed me but I went over to their table to say hi. The others were ecstatic but this particular guy was just staring at me like I was a zombie. I got his name from the students he sat with after he left." He paused to access the look on his friend's face before continuing, "His name is Edward. Shortly after he left with the excuse that he needed to rest so he could club at night so—"
Zariel's interest spiked up immediately. "Hold up, you mean the island has a club?" he asked, interrupting his friend.
"Yes, of course. Though, from what I heard, it's not within the school premises. Listen to me, Zariel. I have no interest in that. The problem now is that I haven't been able to take that blond boy off my mind. I don't know how to classify the feeling. I don't even know if I can call it an attraction."
"Well, I found someone too," Zariel said.
Now it was Stanley's turn to probe.
"Who is he?" he asked with mirth dancing in his eyes.
His white haired friend chuckled. "How do you know it's a 'he'?"
"Because you're into guys, dummy?
"Okay, you are correct. Yes, it's a guy, " Zariel responded and went into a detailed explanation of his entire time with Michael. "I have a plan."
"What plan?" Stanley asked. There was excitement dancing in his friend's eyes and that wasn't a good sign.
Zariel sat up straight, "So I say we go to that club tonight, drink and have fun. Free our mind and just enjoy... " Then he winked playfully at Stanley, "Who knows, we could even get laid!"
