Business Deal

They'd been assigned roommates during their first year and had immediately bonded. They were both nineteen and good looking with great plans and ambitions. Michael had revealed to his friend that he wasn't on good terms with his family though he didn't say why. His father had bluntly told him before sending him packing that he wished Michael was never born or had died as a child; that he was the cause of the family's misfortunes. So he'd moved out, found a job and was paying his way through school. Michael glanced at his phone on the bedside table. It was 6:30 am. Edward still hovered above him, staring with that concerned look on his face. "Eddie, please stop," He begged. "Stop staring at me like I have a virus. You're making me feel uncomfortable. I told you I'm fine!" He felt bad for his outburst so he changed the conversation. " Hey, do you know what today is?" Edward didn't mind the change of subject. "Yes. Saturday, 17th of—" "Yes! Saturday! Do you know what that means?" He did not wait for a reply. "It means we're going to have fun all night looooooong!!!" Edward roared with laughter as he saw his friend behaving like a spoilt child. They had both made it a custom to club on Saturdays whenever they had time. There was a classic bar outside the school premises where most of the students patronized during the weekend. It was pretty expensive but Edward had always handled the bills. "Yes we will party tonight, but we would be back before 11." "Why?" Michael whined like the spoilt child his friend just mentioned. "Because we have football practice tomorrow, prick! And you're the f*cking captain of the team just in case you've forgotten! You look like hell. Go fix yourself." Michael groaned as he got off the bed and headed to the bathroom. He silently locked the door and stripped. Sighing, he palmed his face as he stared at his reflection. There were dark circles around his eyes; evidence of lack of good rest. The nightmares were not giving him enough sleep time. He couldn't point out what was wrong with him. Does he have some powers locked up within him? Are supernatural beings real? Michael still looked at his reflection in the mirror. He needed adequate rest. He felt like he could sleep a week if he wasn't disturbed. He stared dumbly at his face. Although he received constant compliments on his looks, his girlish features made him dislike his face: Silky beet red hair, thick brows and long feminine lashes; his green eyes were striking and very visible. There were stubbles on his chin, the only evidence of masculinity he possessed. He looked more like a male barbie. Ugh! He hated this face and... Wait, what was that? He tilted his his body slightly to have a clearer view. He smiled as he was gifted with a fine view of his backside. Next his gaze traveled upward and he frowned. On his left shoulder was an injury. A graze... And it was bleeding! No way! Michael gasped... ×°~×°~×°~×°~×°~×°~×° As Zariel stepped down from the plane, he surveyed his surroundings. It was summer and the air was comfortably warm. Beautifully colored birds flew across the sky. He could hear the sound of rushing sea waves. The sight was breathtaking, just like he remembered. As his eyes adjusted to his surroundings, he looked back and smiled at his childhood friend and partner, Stanley, who was following closely behind. Stanley had lost his parents at a young age and Zariel's father had taken him in. The two were almost like brothers. Stanley looked up from the files he was accessing, met his friend's gaze, and smiled back. He could see the joy and comfort in Zariel's eyes which showed how happy the man was to be back in Crojahn Island. When he had been informed a week earlier to prepare for a journey, he thought it was one of Zariel's countless vacationing. It came as a shock to hear that they were going to the university of Crojahn for 'business purposes.' Zariel had his own intentions. He has heard of the University's collapsing finance even though it was well hidden. He had discovered this through his connections with nobles and elites in his circle. His intention was not only to offer purchase of the institution, but the whole island as well! Trailing behind him and his friend were about a dozen highly trained security operatives. These were his guys who always followed him around. Flanking him on both sides, the muscled men led him through a reserved portion of the airport. This was done to prevent paparazzi and fans who will delay their journey. As they made their way around the back towards the parking lot, Zariel spotted 3 Lamborghini's neatly parked along a wall. Thank goodness his convoy was here on time. A beautiful young valet stood close to the vehicles. Her smile was so wide, it was surprising her face didn't break. She rushed forward and made a show of helping the men with their bags. She seductively bit her lips as she slightly bent, giving her audience a good view of her cleavage. She was about offering to help Zariel carry the portfolio he was holding when Stanley spoke up, "Hey, what's your name?" The lady stared sheepishly at the two men. Both of them were cute and strikingly handsome. She knew the charms she had in attracting men and she was going to put it into good use. "My name is Melissa, sir," she replied politely, blushing a little. "Good. Melissa, if you want to witness another beautiful day, I'll advice you wipe that irritating smile off that face and f*ck off!" The lady flinched before accessing Stanley's gaze. He was serious, very serious. Realizing she could lose her job if she was reported, she scurried off toward the exit, but Zariel called her back, handed her some money and thanked her. The lady stammered a 'thank you' before hastily exiting the premises. Zariel turned to Stanley with laughter dancing in his eyes, "You should've just left the poor creature. She was actually entertaining." He stared at the lady's departing form. The sight was so funny that he chuckled. The security men who had also watched the scene smiled. After making sure their boss and his were safe within the middle vehicle, they started the engine and zoomed off.
