Goddesses Blessing

2016 Words
Once we got back to the house, Devin brought me to a guest room and gave me some clean clothes, and had one of the younger she-wolves help me get undressed and soak in a hot bath. Rachelle brought me a healing potion that worked similarly to bubble bath. I put it in the water, and thankfully it smelled like eucalyptus. It made my entire body tingle, as I noticed it healing the cuts and bruises. After cleaning myself thoroughly, I had nearly fallen asleep when knock at the door woke me up. “Ms. Cassandra, Alpha Jonas is ready for the ceremony now.” The same young she-wolf that had helped me earlier now spoke to me through the door. Reluctantly I got out of the warm water and dressed in the clothes they had given me. It was a solid white dress with faint silver patterns all over. The dress was long and flowy, but it clung to my body in all of the right place. It had a built-in bra that pushed my girls up and showed off my cleavage in a deep V-neck kind of design. The waist clung to me like wet paper. It was so tight, but not in an unpleasant way. They had also given me a sliver cape to wear over the dress, and a pair of white and silver gladiator sandals. It looked like it belonged in Olympus, not on Earth. I looked in the mirror and I felt absolutely gorgeous. I brushed my hair and threw it up in a quick chignon and made my way downstairs. I was greeted by Gabe, whose jaw practically hit the floor when he saw me, and Luna Constance. “You look absolutely stunning, Cassandra.” She said, reaching her hand towards me. I smiled bashfully, and took her right hand in my left one. Gabe came to my other side and walked with us. I felt like I was getting married to the Alpha, not just borrowing some of his strength. It was kind of weird. Once we reached a large stone in the middle of the clearing, I could see all of my companions, Clara, Rachelle and Ava all standing around the inside of the circle. Alpha Jonas was in the very center in a similarly colored suit, his tan skin making the white pop even more. There was an elder there as well, I assume to lead the ceremony. Once we reached the circle, Gabe took his position to Clara’s right, so that there was one person to the North, East, South and West of the circle, with the Alpha and myself in the middle. “Cassandra Thea Green, High Priestess of the Maine Coven of witches, you are here to receive the Goddess Selene's Blessing of strength, to aid our kind against a common enemy.” The Elder spoke and everything else got eerily quiet. “Jonas Denny Ginnis, Alpha, and King of the North American Werewolf packs, you are here to lend your strength to aid the Goddess Hecate’s children against our common enemy.” The Elder bent down and produced a silver goblet filled with a brown liquid, and an athame that looked to have a white bone handle, with wolf heads howling at a moon carved into it. He approached Alpha Jonas. “Jonas, do you swear to lend your strength to the witches, of your own free will?” He asked. “I willingly offer my strength to Hecate’s children.” Alpha Jonas said, holding out his right hand and allowing the elder to cut the palm of his hand above the goblet, so that it could catch his blood. This must be a wolf's version of a blood spell. It wasn’t uncommon for other supernatural beings to have various spells or ceremonies taught to them by their ancestors or passed between species. Once Alpha Jonas’ blood mixed with the brown liquid, it began to bubble and steam, and the elder lifted Alpha Jonas’ hand back up, and I could see that due to the wolves accelerated healing, it had already stopped bleeding and was closing up. The elder now walked to me. “Cassandra, do you swear to use the gifts bestowed upon you for the greater good?” He asked me. “I vow to use the gifts granted to us from the wolves for the greater good, to help everyone that has been effected by the actions of the hunters over the course of their existence.” I said, nervous as to what was coming next. The elder reached for my hand, and I extended it to him. As the blade pierced my skin, I had to fight the urge to let out a hiss of pain. I would make no noise; I would be strong. The liquid that had calmed down from Alpha Jonas’ blood, instantly began bubbling and steaming when my blood mixed in. The elder then placed a wet, white cloth into my bleeding hand, and the pain stopped immediately. “With their vows made, let the Goddess’s chosen few drink from this goblet and let our strength become theirs. Goddess Selene, watch over Hecate’s children and please grant them the strength of the wolves, the strength needed to persevere and come out of this victorious.” When the elder finished his words, howling broke out all around us. I had not noticed other wolves joining, but they were there, all shifted into their massive forms and all howling at the full moon. “Drink this, daughter of Hecate, then bring it to your sisters, and brother, and allow them to drink. Be granted the strength. Goddess bless you.” He said. “Goddess bless you as well.” I replied. I took a sip of the liquid, mentally gagging, but the taste was not what you would expect. It was strange, to be sure, but it also tasted similarly to black tea, with some added oomph. I then brought the goblet to Ava, to the North, and let her drink, “Goddess bless you.” I said, and she replied “Goddess bless you as well.” I then went to the right, to Rachelle in the east and gave her the goblet, and repeated “Goddess bless you,” to which she also replied “Goddess bless you as well.” I repeated this with Clara to the south and Gabe to the west, repeating the blessing and them saying it back to me. Once we had finished, I brought the now empty goblet back to the elder in the center of the circle. “The Goddess has granted her blessing. You may go and greet your new brother and sister wolves. Welcome to the pack, little witches.” He said and we all broke and stepped off of the stone. The wolves had all changed back into human forms and all were thankfully dressed, though I am sure they would be naked after a ceremony like this. I joined with Gabe, Clara and Camden, Rachelle and Ava and we began walking around and speaking to the pack members. There were not many, 50 or 60 at most. The wolf population had dropped drastically due to the hunters, they wanted them gone as much as we did. Everyone was very nice, though they partied like teenagers. We stayed up drinking and dancing and communing until the sun came up. Devin and his mate, who I learned was named Mara, showed us all to our rooms, well, except for Clara and Camden who went to their room hours before the rest of us. I slid out of the white dress that I had been wearing all night and put on the pajamas from my bag that had been brought up while Gabe and I were in the forest, and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “My daughter, Cassandra, you did well.” I heard Hecates voice and began slowly opening my eyes. She was wearing a bright white gown that looked like it was glowing and this time we were in an open field, surrounded by white flowers and lightening bugs, the sky was so clear I could see all of the stars perfectly. “Goddess.” I bowed my head. “Lift your head, my daughter.” She said, now right beside me, using her finger to lift my chin to make my gaze meet her own. “I am so proud of you, you gained the trust of the wolves, and you survived their test. You are strong,” She said with a smile on her face. “Thank you, Goddess.” I said. “Look at your talisman dear.” she said, and I looked down to the talisman I had forgotten I was even wearing. It looked the same, only the wolf symbol was now glowing a bright white. Not like the faery symbol, that one was a dim blue. “It’s glowing...” I said, pointing out the obvious. Hecate laughed and it sounded truly magical. “It shows what you have accomplished, the power of the wolves, and my sister Goddess now runs in your veins.” She said, still smiling. “Does that mean I am going to shift into a wolf?” I asked, not afraid of what it would mean. Hecates response was preceded by more laughter. “No, my daughter, but it grants you the strength, stamina and courage to persevere.” I made that ‘O’ shape with my mouth, feeling slightly idiotic. “You have done well my daughter, next you must find the Elves. They are not quite what you'd expect as they have adapted to the times. Alpha Jonas should be able to point you in the right direction. Stay strong, daughter, This is just the beginning." She smiled once more before fading, and I fell back into a dreamless sleep. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I did not wake up until around two in the afternoon, and I only got up because I had to pee. After I used the toilet and washed my hands, I brushed my teeth and splashed cold water on my face. I saw the reflection from the talisman in the mirror, and the wolf symbol was glowing like it had in my dream. Smiling to myself, I left my room and headed towards the kitchen. Once I got downstairs, I saw that everyone else was already there, so I filled them in on my chat with Hecate. "The Elves, huh?" Alpha Jonas said. He had walked in while I was talking to my group about the dream. " Last I heard, Artowynn, who now goes by Art," Alpha Jonas broke into a laughing fit. "Art," he began chuckling again. "Lives in sunny California. Says he feels at home with all the model types." He finally composed himself enough to say inbetween fits of hysteria. Here was a grown ass man, an Alpha, nonetheless, laughing at the name Art. I guess you just had to be there. Alpha Jonas told us that the Elves were very a very posh people, and preferred a higher class life style. Most of them are famous in one way or another, but under the drama and sophistication lies a dormant panther waiting to pounce. He said the Elves could be ruthless and terrifying to deal with, which is why he was glad that they were all the way in California. He said to go to Hollywood, and anyone you meet there is probably full elf, or of elven descent. After lunch, he arranged for all six of us, me, Gabe, Clara, Camden, Ava and Rachelle, to fly to California on one of the packs private jets. We all went, packed our things and said our good byes. Alpha Jonas and Luna Constance drove us to the airport personally, and bid us farewell and a safe journey. "Hollywood, YAY!" Ava said, practically bouncing out of her shoes. We boarded the plane, and settled in for a long flight.
