Chapter 9: The Bite

“It seems the noise came from that direction, hurry up we are close” Alexander said.
“Hmm I'm having a feeling we should go back home” Raymond replied.
Seeing that Alexander was about to talk he interrupted him
“Hehe fine let’s go before you call me a coward, cause I can see it’s not far from your mouth”
“Ha-ha you do know me well”
They both moved closer into the forest
Roar! The thunderous voice once again terrified them and unlike how far the sound was before, it was much closer and clearer.
The tree leaves and wind around them were moved by it.
“RUN!” They altered warning to each other as they feel the ground vibrate as if a beast was chasing after them.
How about wait to see the beast? They never thought about that rather their instinct told them to run and only stop when they were completely safe.
They got to a place they had to jump, Raymond went first and then Alexander, but before he could successfully perform the jump, he got a sharp pain on his hand making him trip off unbalanced.
Alexander blurrily saw a beast-like creature with red eyes passing by him with five other shadows in a blink of an eye and after that he blacked out.
Bryan ran over to the familiar voice and was immediately chased by the remaining five Alphas.
After confirming the person who burp the voice, Bryan revealed his fangs and bit his hand and left him escape but still to their surprise he stopped and turned to face them.
As for why he ran and stopped after some while? No one knows, but what they knew was that he had to be put down so they attacked once more.
Christopher sent out a fast and fierce kick while twisting to stab the dagger forward at the Primordial Alpha’s left chest aiming for his heart once more.
Though he had been mocked and teased by the Primordial Alpha but it wouldn’t kill to test it out.
A low bang erupted as the Primordial Alpha’s hand hit the leg sending it backward as if he hit nothing despite the hard bones around the leg simultaneously catching the silver dagger before it touches his body.
Before that could end Fredrick wrapped his hand around Bryan’s neck, bending his elbow to strangle him from behind.
Rio was rapidly slashing and ripping the clothing and flesh at his back while it healed back but much slowly than before.
Bryan knew it would end here but still acted normal from the outside.
Chloe and Stella appeared in midair diving down and replacing Christopher in restraining his two hands while the Alpha Demon flip backwards redrawing the dagger just to throw the dagger with the heart has his target.
The soul reaper lunched like an arrow let loose, using it sharp glimmering tip tearing through the wind with an unnatural force but it stopped some inches at the Primordial Alpha’s left chest.
More exact it was caught by a feminine hand.
Before they could react, that same feminine hand threw it back at a blank, same hand grabbed the back space of two female Alphas and threw them backwards without caring or thinking of the consequences.
Then she reviled her vermilion eyes glowing like the Alpha she was.
“Back off!” The female Alpha spoke and who was she? Ruth ‘The Dear Devil!’
“Ha-ha you finally came out, interesting but you shouldn’t have. Still thanks” Bryan spoke calmly with a smile rested on his face but behind him someone hid the I-GIVE-UP face.
Fred who had given his all in strangling the Primordial Alpha found out that he was able to talk whiteout a struggle
‘Am strangling you and you can still talk, man what kind of beast are you... I give up!’
Rio because he had received a direct ‘meant for only me’ shock by the Primordial Alpha during the Alpha formation period
Recovering after the shock Rio received a back kick from the Primordial Alpha while a strong hand grabbed the head of Fredric and slammed him on the ground
Then dark shadow encircled him and vanished from the sport and appeared wrapping his hand around Ruth who was about to receive a strong attack from Chloe and Stella, two furious ladies
Before they could attack they, both disappeared again
“Ah f**k!”
“What was that for?” Ruth spat out after appearance in another area in then forest
“Those angry women would rip you apart, I just saved you”
“I saved you first”
“Well, uhm you can say that”
Hun?
“Listen forget me I have a task for you and its important, you need…”
Bryan lowered his voice and told her the details, then he vanished and Ruth secretly went back and watch while hiding
“Find him!” Christopher roared and they all went in searching
“Hey… no need” Bryan was breathing heavily, he had used too much power and it speed up his power reduction
“Shall we continue?” An Alpha that has been hiding finally came out and drove his caws behind the Primordial Alpha
Unlike how strong he was some minute ago, he was much weaker and Duke was able to force his claws deeper into his body
“Duke?” Christopher was stun for some seconds
“Now!” Duke didn’t bother replying instead he reminded Christopher of what he needed to do and then later snapped back just in time to catch the soul reaper dagger Stella tossed at him
Then he ran swiftly and appeared in front of the Primordial Alpha and stabbed it into his left cheats where the heart was
“Um, finally” The Primordial Alpha winked and then his eye returned back to normal with the rest of his body part and his skin became more whiter and cold like a dead body but they all knew he wasn’t
Their eyes were still focused on his body with expectations
What were they expecting? Him to be set ablaze like their comrade and turn to ashes… well then, they should keep dreaming maybe it will happen
“Sigh so he really is immortal” Rio spoke
“what about the Wolf’s legacy?” Fredrick questioned and they looked at Christopher and Duke but the two shook their head
“we were all deceived, the Wolf’s legacy truly exist but the way of acquiring it, that, I don’t know”
Christopher finally figured out the lies the Originals gave them, now they were at loss and he knows only the Originals gain because the Primordial Alpha body will be taken away from them and perhaps if they try to stop them they will be killed without a second thought
In the end, they were all chess pieces, more specific pawns
Meanwhile, two furious women were plotting their revenge
“let go kill that pretty b***h”
“sure” Chloe replied Stella and where advancing forward
“Not tonight!”
“pack up let leave and order those wolfs to clean here up”
Duke who had been forever dying to join the calamity blood pack tried his luck again
“Do I get to join the pack now?”
“Sure, Duke you’ve earned it, welcome to the pack” Christopher spoke and left, leaving the others behind
The women frowned and swore one day to rip that lady apart
Ruth count yourself lucky today, next time you won’t be
Chloe and Stella left also
“Am finally in the pack, now what guys?”
“Now we welcome you and leave you to clean this mess” Rio answered
“Huh, but…”
“You are the new guy, don’t let us down my man” Fredric tap his shoulder and grab the Primordial Alpha’s body and left with Rio
The werewolves both the omegas and betas were relived the Alpha pack had left but their mood changed when they heard Duke had join the Calamity Blood Pack and he had been told to handle them
For this they miss the Alpha leader
“Am part of the Calamity Blood Pack so know how to talk to me, am not in your class not even in that of your dead Alpha leader” Duke made a sinister laughter before continuing his speech
“Now clear this mess up or else…”
They knew what the consequences were
Death of course
They hated Duke for that but they wanted to avoid death anyway possible so they obeyed him
More importantly he had a strong backer now
It wasn’t worth it to risk disobeying, so they moved out immediately gathering the body while some went to get the materials to burn down the bodies and cover their tracks from human
Ruth who watched secretly left without causing further trouble
Meanwhile before the Primordial Alpha vanished back to meet the Alphas before his death, he gave her a task to do and a mark
He drew a crescent mark with his claws on her wrist which he told her will protect her
“Mark of the Primordial Alpha” she whispered, confused of how a scar will protect her
Yes, a scar
Although the mark healed but it left a scar behind having the shape of a crescent moon
She cleared her thought and vanished into the dark
Raymond also carried his friend and helped him home before he finally went back home
When Duke was done he freed the werewolves and ran into the forest
