Reyna sets Victoria down as a man’s car comes to a stop in front of them. Reyna grabs the children by the hand and walks over to the driver’s side window.
“You wouldn’t mind giving us a little aid, would you?”
As the man opens his mouth to speak, Reyna clicks a bullet into place and the barrel of her revolver makes contact with his temple.
“N-no, no-not a problem at a-all.”
“Are you sure? Wouldn’t want to get ratted out.”
“P-please, miss, I-I have a f-family.”
“Good.” Reyna ushers the kids inside the car. “I’m not fond of killing family members and leave children in despair.”
She gets into the car herself and the man, albeit shakily, begins the drive again.
“You just pretend we’re not here at all.” Reyna lowers the children’s heads. “And we all get to live.”
“A-as you say, madam.”
Victoria and Isaac start to talk about what they hope their school year will be like as Reyna pays special attention to the driver.
“What happened to your wrist?” Reyna asks.
“P-pardon?”
“Your wrist- to be specific, the right one. What happened to it?”
“N-nothing, just-” The man sighs. “Nothing.”
“Take us to Grosseto.” Reyna instructs.
The man nods as Reyna’s eyes travel around the car. It’s far too clean and not a single car seat.
“You said you have a family, does it not include children?”
“I- yes, a little daughter. She’s two.”
“What’s your name? I’d like to recompense you for your kindness.”
“Antonio Ricci.”
“Well, Mr. Ricci. I suppose a fair amount of money would do.” Reyna reaches out to touch his right wrist and squeezes.
Ricci retracts his hand immediately and the car swerves as he tries to go about driving again after the sudden rush of pain he felt from the contact.
“It’s fractured. Forcefully, I am inclined to believe.”
“I- you- how can you tell?”
“I’m an anthropologist; it’s not hard to discern such a thing.” Reyna looks at Ricci. “This car isn’t yours.”
“It’s mine.”
“Liar. It’s far too clean. It doesn’t have a single trace of a child in it.” She looks at him. “Under who’s influence are you operating?”
“I‘m- under no one’s influence!” Ricci snaps.
“Don’t lie to me. Who are you off to bury?”
Ricci’s eyes widen and he steps on the brakes, everyone jostling forward. His face pales and Reyna’s blue eyes meet his own wet Earth eyes.
“H-how did you know?”
“Drive.” Reyna motions to the green light with her revolver.
“You….. are a very smart woman.”
“I’ve experienced plenty.” Is her simple reply.
“If I don’t do as they asked, my family is in danger.” Ricci says quietly.
“And you got a preview, didn’t you?”
“A twist was all it took.”
“Your distal radius was affected.” Reyna says quietly. “Who was the victim?”
“Nina Bernardi.”
Reyna’s expression remains the same, apathetic and uncaring. Bernardi.
“You’re under Bertelli’s influence.”
Ricci doesn’t answer, but slowly nods. The middle aged sandy haired man does his best to concentrate on the road. Reyna turns back to the kids, who exchange a look before they look up at her. Reyna presses her finger to her lips and they nod.
“I’d like to trust this won’t get out.”
“O-Of course not.”
“Good.” Reyna opens the door as they stop at Via Senese.
Victoria and Isaac get out, following Reyna as Ricci takes his leave.
“So, we escaped just to stand on the side of the road again?” Victoria looks up at Reyna.
“Not for long, I have a friend, of sorts.” Reyna takes their hands as she guides them to the Q8easy. “Who’s up for their snacks?”
“Me!”
“Let’s get them.”
They walk inside SVOLTA and as the two kids pick out some snacks, Reyna oversees them.
“Is that everything?” Reyna looks at the two baskets the kids filled up with treats, sweets and chips alongside drinks. “Really? You’ll eat and drink all of this?”
“Probably not, but we can get sick trying to.” Isaac grins up at her.
“I mean, we can also save some for later.” Victoria adds.
“I suppose that would be if for the best.”
Reyna goes about pulling out her card when she bumps into someone.
“Wow. If it isn’t Reyna….” Julius smiles before tilting his head slightly when he sees the kids. “And friends. Woah. I saw you just yesterday and now you’re the mother of two kids.”
He shakes his head, smiling wistfully.
“Time sure does fly.”
“Don’t be an i***t, Jules. How many passengers?”
“Five, in case you need a ride.” He gives her a playful wink.
“Excellent.”
The kids exchange a look as they follow Reyna and Julius.
“You know, I walked in SVOLTA expecting to walk out with a pack of gum.” Julius pops three gum sticks into his mouth. “Not with a whole ass family in tow.”
“Shut up.” Reyna takes a gum stick from him. “I’d make an excellent wife.”

“The kids and Reyna are gone.” Lucifer says simply, completely unfazed.
“Are you sure that woman is adequate to care for the well-being of my daughter?!” Magnolia hisses as they try to stay out of view of Montenegro’s workers.
“I’m sure she is. Not entirely, as I haven’t spent enough time with her, but I’m pretty confident in Reyna’s abilities.”
“If something happens to my daughter, it will be on you.” Magnolia points her finger at Lucifer.
“Iason, control your wife.”
“Magnolia, I’m sure the woman is adequate. I mean, Lucifer wouldn’t have hired her if she wasn’t.” Iason tries to comfort.
Lucifer snaps his fingers as he points at Iason and nods.
“That. Exactly what he said.”
Magnolia shakes her head as she pulls out more napkins from her purse and hands them to Lucifer to press over his right bicep, coated in blood from the bullet graze. Iason looks at Lucifer’s wound and then to his eyes.
“Are you sure you’ll be fine? It’s bleeding far too much for a simple graze.”
Lucifer’s gaze falls down to his blood soaked bicep and the napkins that are now staining his fingers before shrugging.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine.” Lucifer nods as he reaches in his jacket pockets for his car keys only to discover they’re gone. “My keys are gone. I was sure I put them in my pocket.”
Iason tries not to laugh as they reach the parking lot and they hide among the crowd of panicking people.
“And so is your car.”
“Reyna, the pick-pocket.” Lucifer smiles incredulously. “I wonder if she’s a kleptomaniac, by chance.”
The hurriedly make their way over to the Arizmenti car.
“Well, you two are more than welcome to take me to Florence. I’m sure Reyna’s with Victoria on her way there anyway. And-”
Lucifer grins mischievously as Iason shakes his head and Magnolia looks on with clear annoyance.
“We’ll stop by for some churros.”
