Chapter5

I stared in disbelief at the figure that looked at me. How is this possible? My head started hurting as I felt dizzy almost dropping on the floor.

"Hey hey hey"Alex rushed to get me as I almost fainted.

"You ok?"He looked at me

I shrugged out of his grip finding my own feet. My breath increased as I stared closely at him… 'Monster.'

He still had the same baby face, only just bigger now.

"Yeah,"I tried to find my voice as I walked past him to the door, heading for my room.

Alex said something I thought I heard, but the only thing running through my head was how to get into my room and out of the house.

Morning bells woke me up as I shuffled and turned on the bed. Brimley had called from the door and said breakfast was ready. I hastily took my bath and rushed down the stairs hoping to eat mine before Alex showed up, but stopped dead when I saw Alex already seated. He raised his eyes to meet mine as he sipped his coffee.

"Good morning,"I said, surprisingly shy.

"Good morning,"he replied, his eyes still glued on me. "Quite an entrance you made last night,"he continued. "You must be my bride,"He smiled disintrested.

I hated him. He was an arrogant scumbag.

He sipped his coffee again and lifted his eyes to catch me staring at him. Our eyes locked for a few seconds before he stood up, driving out of the house with Brimley.

"Just a little longer,"I said to myself "A little longer."

Staying at the mansion didn't come with all its pecks. It was always quiet and lonely, except for Betty who was always ready to serve whatever I wanted. I didn't know which was worse, staying at the mansion away from Dorthy or working at the cafe and living with Dorthy.

I sighed as I went downstairs into the sitting room, in search of anything that could take my mind off the pain and worry I was feeling. The night was cold and promising.

I stretched my hand to pick up a book from the shelf. "Her innermost desire"I read out loud. It looked interesting.

"We have to stop meeting like this."I turned to see Alex.

I didn't know he was back. But there he was, standing before me barely clothed, freshly cleaned up and smelling of strawberry shampoo.

This was the time I needed Jesse to tell me what to do. I stood, totally speechless as I watched him walk towards me with the body built for a god.

"What? No. I was just looking for something to pass the time,"I struggled to speak. It was hard staying focused with Alex standing so close to me and looking at me the way he did.

I moved away from him, but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
