Jordan had just stepped out of his brother's office and had signaled for Rebecca to enter, leaving me outside all by myself even though I was supposed to be working. I was pacing back and forth, unable to gather my thoughts.
Jordan made sure not to reveal any negative internal events by maintaining a fully neutral countenance when he emerged from his office.
