Being a wolf puppy felt like wearing your favorite pajamas but all over your whole body and also your pajamas could smell EVERYTHING. Kova's nose was doing the happy-dance thing where it kept finding new smells to investigate. The medical wing floor smelled like the cleaning stuff Granny used, but underneath that was other smells—old tears from when people got hurt, happy sweat from when babies got born, and that medicine smell that wasn't scary anymore because it meant Vex was helping, not white-coat people hurting. His paws made the softest pat-pat-pat sounds on the floor. Wolf paws were SO much better than human feet.
