Chapter Nine
The next morning, Beatrice was cleaning up the breakfast dishes when she got two phone calls in rapid succession. The first was from Meadow who’d let her know that she was going to have Will for the day (and that Piper was still a bit weak, but better). The next was from Mellie, checking in to see if Beatrice might be available that morning.
After getting ready, Beatrice headed out for Tilda Dawson’s house. As she approached the house on the long driveway, she felt as if there was almost a menacing presence surrounding the property. She was irritated with herself for being fanciful. It was a house like any other house. A place to live and that was it.
