The Muses: Titans Return

Chapter 8

"Whoa! Cerberus. Down." I say holding my hand out towards him. Cerberus reluctantly calms down and lays down next to me. We call all the patrol groups and Olympus Generals to the clearing and after fifteen minutes the clearing is full of people; each patrol group has two Gods or Goddesses, a demi-goddess daughter of Ares, and a demi-god son of Ares. Having alot of half siblings has helped Deimos in having trustworthy patrol groups. Cerberus doesn't leave my side and watches everyone warily.

Ares stands by his kids Elena and Nikolas asking them questions about what they saw and how many people they saw. Nikolas explains that they saw roughly 100 people at tents on the south side beach closest to the mainland.

"We heard them say something about this 'needing to be done before Valentine's back'. What ever that means." Notus says to Artemis as the Generals talked to the patrol group. Artemis chuckles muttering under her breath about what a holiday about love has anything to do with it.

I walk towards Notus to ask him a question and Deimos steps in front of me and I stop suddenly. Cerberus looks at him intently before recognizing him and laying down next to us. Deimos shakes his head towards me.

"What, Deimos?" I ask him c*****g my head to the side. Deimos shakes his head again and goes to move me to the side by my arm and I pull my arm out of his hand. "No. Not until you tell me what is going on."

"All you need to know is what you are thinking is correct. He was spotted on the main land a week before the Titan's attack." Deimos says grabbing my upper arm again. I stand for a moment thinking into my past and I realize where I remember the name from. When I was working at the Haunted Moon Bar. When I was in the hospital and was slowly waking up I remember hearing Jace talk to someone about a Valentine.

"Jace. That's why Jace was here the day of the attack?" I say pulling my arm out of his hand again. This time I take a step back and Cerberus watches my movements. I step around him quickly and he turns reaching for me quickly but I slid right between his fingers.

I walk into the house and I head to the greenhouse where alot of our spell herbs are and I find who I'm looking for, Hecate, the Goddess of Witchcraft. If anyone will know about Valentine it will be his Goddess. Being a sorceress we worship her daughter, Circe, Enchantress and Goddess of Sorcery, so we show her just as much respect.

"My lady, We have been made aware some of your followers are siding with the Titans. His name is Valentine and he is known for crimes against your Moon Hollow Coven." Hecate stops what she's doing and turns to face me. "We need Moon Hollow to join our efforts."

"Why do you not ask them yourself?" Hecate asks turning around to see me kneeling my head looking down at the ground. "Stand child you are an equal." She nods her head as I stand up still looking down.

"There is a history between me and the Grand Warlock Jace Moore. He doesn't speak to me due to a forced mate bond rejection. I was matched with Deimos during an emergency meeting of the 12 Olympians, in being matched I was forced to reject him as my mate. He doesn't speak to me now. If he is called here by his Madame he will answer the call." I can feel she's standing in front of me. I still don't look up at her and I can hear her chuckle.

"Anastasia, you are a Muse. You do know that means you are an equal to me correct? You are a Goddess. You may do spell work in honor of my daughter but we are equals. If you need me to write a letter to a warlock in my following consider it done." Hecate waves her left hand and a letter appeared, "'Jace Moore, Grand Warlock of the Moon Hollow Coven. Come to Kaydagra. Bring your coven and fight along side me and the Olympians. Show the Gods our loyalty runs deep. Blessed be, Hecate, Goddess of Witchcraft.'"

I nod and she waves her hand again and the letter disappears. Hecate and I jump suddenly as my cell phone rings. I pull it out and I see a name I haven't heard in a while. Alpha Elijah. My mother's former husband.

"Alpha Elijah, to what do I owe the pleasure of this phone call?" I ask answering the phone giving a small wave to Hecate leaving the green house and stepping into the hallway as Deimos rounds the corner looking for me.

"Anya. We need to talk. Do you remember the Rouges we were having issues with?" Eljiah says. I remember that right before my mom killed all of the kids and there was a really bad Rouge wolf issue. Rouges were killing the border patrol in surrounding packs.

"Yes. Have they returned?" I ask holding my hand up for Deimos to hold on before he starts to talk seeing his mouth open.

"That's the thing. It has completely stopped in my area but it has picked up in your area. We have an informant who said that some of the local Rouges were approached by some witches wanting them to join a man named Valentine. We talked to some of the local witches who were also approached by them and they said Valentine is from outside Seattle." Elijah explains quickly. I rub my face nodding as I listen.

"Really? Are you sure he's recruiting wolves?" He gives me a guttural noise acknowledging what I was saying. I give a frustrated groan. "How quickly can you get your conservation team out here?" Deimos gives me a funny look and I hold up my hand again shaking my head.

"Anya I told you because legally you are still my step-daughter. I don't want to get involved." Elijah says. I chuckle at him and I can hear him get a little annoyed. "What is funny? You realize your speaking to an Alpha this way? I thought I taught you to respect our titles." He berates me.

"Alpha Elijah, I'm asking you to join this battle as my step-father. I can easily use my connections as a Goddess and speak to Selene herself. In case you forgot, Selene is my cousin." Elijah gets quiet on the other end. "Thank you. Now the Conservation Team. When can I expect them to arrive?"

Elijah lives in and runs Yellowstone National Park. He has an elite team of warriors he calls his Conservation Team. They are similar to the United States Navy Seals. They ingest Wolfsbane so they can build a tolerance so it doesn't effect them. I hear him sigh.

"They are being dispatched now. I have them getting on the planes and I am joining them. We will be there in 3 hours. I pray you have a landing strip for us." I smile and give a slight chuckle.

"Alpha I frequently have Chariots flying on and off my property. My runway and landing zone is fit for Gods." I hear him chuckle before hanging up. I look up at Deimos who looks annoyed. "I will have Mystis set up rooms and get a couple other buildings ready. Moon Hollow and Red Crescent will be joining our fight. If you could please let Selene know that she has a Pack coming, Hecate is aware she has a Coven to await for." I walk away looking to find Mystis to accommodate the new guests.
