Chapter 20

723 Words
Eight Months Later.... Ring. Ring. Ring. My phone wakes me up ringing. I look at my alarm clock and I see it says 4:15am and I groan as I look at who is calling me. My nephew Kratos? I answer the phone tired. "Hello?" I say as I press the answer button trying to sit my eight month pregnant butt up in bed. "Ah, Aunt Anya, I apologize about the early call, I know you have kids and all, but we have come across a small problem." Kratos says quickly. He is ten hours ahead of us so for him it is 2:15pm. "Your right. I have children, I run a community, and I am eight months pregnant. Now you better have a good reason for this call." I say grabbing my bottle of water as Deimos rolls over rubbing his eyes I whisper to him that it's Kratos and he just nods and rolls over falling back to sleep. "Well, I had some intruders on my island and it resulted in a fire-fight. I do not have the Olympians on speed dial and I need to get ahold of Ares." Kratos says after getting his ass chewed out for calling so early. "Oh that's no issue. I will send you a text message with his phone number. I hope everyone is alright." I say standing up for a moment knowing I am going to have to go to the bathroom soon. "I regret to say not everyone made it out safely." Kratos says. Kratos was always a more sensitive person and I know he takes this to heart. "I am sorry. I'm sending his number now." I say waddling to the bathroom looking at my phone. "Thanks. I will wait for your text. Bye Aunt Anya." Krato says before hanging up the phone. Once the phone call ended I send him Ares' contact information wondering why he needed to talk to Ares specifically. Once I get in the bathroom I feel an odd sensation and when I look down I realize I didn't have to use the bathroom. No, my water broke. I waddle back into the bathroom and I walk to Deimos' side of the bed and I shake him. Deimos groans and rolls towards me. "Deimos. Wake up." I say shaking him again. He groans again and doesn't wake up. "Deimos Drakos." I say a little louder and shaking him again. This time he jumps out of bed fists up for a fight. "Anya? What? What's wrong?" Deimos asks realizing there is no immediate danger. "It's time. My water broke." Once I say the words Deimos is throwing on a t-shirt and is running around like a chicken with his head cut-off. He calls Bo to tell him to come up stairs and Melinoe follows him up. They are watching Cassie while we go to the infirmary. Once we get into the infirmary and Dr. Rodgers gets in about thirty minutes later it doesn't take much longer for things to process. About six hours later the world is finally blessed with another set of divine twins. Born first is my son Tobias. He looked like a spitting image of his father. My daughter, Arianna, looked just like me. Soon after we are told devastating news, Deimos' brother Alexander has died. Another battle, another enemy. Will we ever be just normal? Author's Note: I wanna give a huge thank you and shout out too my friend Jesse Harold-Force who has helped me with ideas for these stories. For reading the chapters before I put them out to let me know how he thinks they flow. As a big 'Thank you' I chose to name one of the twins Tobias after his cat who passed away!!! Thank you so much!!! Keep an eye out for the next installment of The Muses as we take a trip down memory lane and see where it started with Maleficent and Hades!! Keep another eye out for a new series that takes place in the same world and time as The Muses!! Meet new characters including Kratos, God of Strength! As well as old ones like Ares, Deimos, Phobos and Anastasia as well!!! (title to come) All opinions are welcomed! Possibly thinking of making it an audio book as well. Let me know what you think!
