Not again. Kate turned away from the window, letting the draperies drop into place. The woman in the red Subaru had been sitting at the curb for the past fifteen minutes. What was she waiting for? Kate settled back on the couch, picked up the remote and sent the volume on The Barefoot Contessa up to an almost unbearable intensity. She reached for her tea and took a sip. A plate of butter cookies sat on the table before her. Ina Garten was making Béarnaise sauce. The doorbell rang, and Kate stiffened.
