Chapter 3: Training ( Part 2 )

The others arrived just in time. Am sure Lord Harry would have just sat there and watched as I and Jess sparred breathlessly.

He makes us sparr in our human form. "Yeah we can also transform to humans ". Weak humans!!

I was out of breath already and so was Jess.

The others arrived one after the other and some arrived in groups.

Andrew took the spot next to me thereby earning a look from Jess.

if looks could kill am sure he'll be dead already.

Andrew : Hi bells. looks like my dad worked you pretty hard.

Jess : Yeah I wonder why

Andrew : What are you insinuating Jess??

Jess : Go to hell Andrew. you and I know your father is working us so hard because Bella refused to date your sorry ass self.

Andrew : Take that back.

Jess : Truth hurts right??

Andrew : I said take it back.

Bella : stop it you two. Jess, Lord Harry is training me so hard because I will take over from my father some day. Andrew,,am sorry once more for turning you down. you've always been like a brother to me and I'll like to keep it that way.

Yeah whatever.

shut up Jess.

we stopped our banter when we heard lord Harry ordering everyone to take their position.

Lord Harry : As you all know. this week is a recap of everything you have been taught previously. After this week you'll be allowed to go into the field.

your performance in the field will determine your positions in Nexus.

you'll either be a soldier or an ordinary citizen and that is if you survive the all out attack.

Your lesson this week is masking your smell and moving in a crowd undetected.

Although we can transform to any other sups,,our smell always remains the same. that is why we are taught to mask our smell and adapt the smell of anyone or anything around us. " No we are not chameleons " " We are changelings".

After several hours of training and practice,, I perfected the act of masking my smell. it's all in our head. once you transform and loose your self to your surroundings,,it changes your smell. you just need to adapt to your surroundings then automatically your smell changes.

Lord Harry : Now its time to put it to practice.

everyone mask your smell and look for a hiding spot. we all made our move to look for a good hiding spot while lord Harry and other instructors went round sniffing us out.

I quickly transformed into a vampire and hid in a closet where combat weapons are kept. Good thing vampires don't breathe.

I squeezed myself into a tool box while I silently waited.

I kept waiting to be sniffed out but no one came to my hiding spot

Maybe am getting perfect at masking my smell or who knows,,maybe Lord Harry and the other instructors are getting too old for the job.

I waited and waited until I heard Lord Harry's voice from the Aquariums speaker " Alright come out Isabella,,you win ".

My only thought at that moment was wow!! am really good at this.

I came out of my hiding spot smiling like an i***t.

As I made my way down to the training ground, I could see the look on all their faces.

some looked at me with admiration while others looked at me with pure envy and hatred.

I tried to read their thoughts but their shields were up.

Ever since they found out I inherited the gift of telepathy from my father,, they've learnt to shield their thoughts around me.

if only they knew that my gift was stronger than my father's.

My father could read your thoughts only if you were close to him whereas I can be anywhere I choose to be but once I focus on reading your thoughts,,, you'll become an open book to me.

I stopped trying to read their thoughts and walked down to where Lord Harry stood. " They can shield up for as long as they want to but trust me am definitely going to invade their thoughts later ".

Well done Isabella.. I see your trainings paid off. Just remember to always put your trainings to use when you're in the field. Lord Harry praises me in front of everyone.

I heard Queenie's voice as she whispers to her brother Brian and their friends. I blocked their conversation out of my head because I already know what they are saying.

Queenie is a self absorbed and over entitled b***h.

All thanks to her parents who gave her that name. " I mean who even names a child Queenie ".

Now she believes she should be queen and not me. " Hilarious "... I wish we were not related at all.

Who would believe that we are actually cousin's??

After our trainings I delay a little so Queenie and her group will leave before I find my way back to my room but its quite obvious they can't pass on a chance to taunt me.

Queenie walks towards me. I wonder why her brother and their friends are not with her.

Jess and Andrew also see her coming my way and they rushed to be by my side because they know Queenie is the real definition of trouble.

Jess : Ahhaa... Here comes the b***h!! I was wondering when you'll show up.

Bella : Come on Jess,, don't give her more reason to hate me.

Queenie : Stop all the pretence already Isabella!!! stop acting like you care about me or anyone else for that matter.

Andrew : Watch it Queenie!! Bella is actually the most caring person I know.

Queenie : So says the guy who only wants to use her to get to the throne.. come on Isabella,, give up your claims to the throne and see if you'll still have these two as friends.

Jess made a move to slap Queenie while Andrew glares daggers at her. I quickly held back Jess hand and give them a calming look to calm them down. then I turned to face Queenie.

Bella : When you're done being a jealous b***h Queenie you can can f**k off.

Queenie : Gloat all you want Isabella. Enjoy it all while it lasts because I would never let you get to that throne.

Bella : Then get ready to go down. Just like your father.

I know I shouldn't have mentioned her father because I know he was framed and killed. But I just had to say it to get her off my case.

I watched the colour drain from Queenie's face as she glares daggers at me.

Queenie :" I'll surely make you regret this day " she says before she angrily storms out of the training grounds.

Jess : Good riddance.

Bella : I shouldn't have said those hateful words to her.

Andrew : Don't feel bad Bells. you just gave her a taste of her own medicine.

We were getting ready to leave the Aquarium when Brian walks up to us too. Jess glares at him with an evil smile on her face.

Jess : Hmmmm... Out goes the b***h and here comes her sidekick.

Brian : What did you just call me Jessica???

You could see the fury in his eyes as he faces Jess who also fearlessly faces him head on.

I quickly went to stand between the both of them before the fight erupts. But I was too late.

Brian pushes me back to hit Jess before Andrew drags him by the collar and pushes him back but Brian uses vampire speed to push him back against the wall.

I used same speed and force to push him back and hold him back while Jess holds him down on the floor.

Bella : We don't want trouble Brian.

Brian : You should have thought about that before you mentioned my dad.

I noticed he is much calmer now so I signaled Jess to let him up. so he stands up and continues glaring at us.

Andrew : Queenie started it all. Bella was just standing up to her.

Brian ignored him and faces me directly. he smiles an evil smile at me.

Brian : Watch your back Isabella... Because you won't see it coming.

Jess : Is that a threat ???

Bella : See what coming ???

He just gave us a half sided smile and walks away.

I wish I could make it all go away. " So much hate " I wish I can open their eyes to see the truth.

They know all what am going through and how hard my life is.

They even know how hard my father makes me work out.

Yet they choose to blame me for his crimes.

If only they know that we have a common enemy.

If only they could see that this throne is not worth fighting for. " If only they know "

I walked down to my room as thoughts of what happened in the past between our fathers filled my head.
