Chapter 4 : Secrets & Betrayal

So here's what really happened

Flashbacks

After the throne was handed over to my father king Arthur. My uncle Arnold was appointed as a regent which means that hes the second in command. They both worked together to make things better for both changelings and other supernatural creatures.

since the responsibility given to the changelings was great we started training regularly so we can be stronger.

Every changeling starts training at the age of ten.

Our trainings lasts for another ten years before we are allowed into the field.

Our trainings have different stages.

We use nine years to master the strength and weaknesses of each and every supernatural creatures.

we use one whole year to learn and master the strength and weaknesses of each creature.

After learning to fight like other sups we are then taught how to combine all the strength of all the different sups. then lastly we learn how to investigate and interrogate and were also taught how to work under cover which concludes our trainings before we face the all out attack and then we are allowed to go into the field.

Because our trainings are consistent and effective its was soon discovered that our strengths are not the same. some are stronger as werewolves while some are stronger in the shape of any other creature.

If we transform and train as vampires some of us are stronger as vampires but those ones that are strong as vampires will not be that strong if we are training as lycans or or elves or any other supernatural creatures. This simply means that although we can transform into any other supernatural creatures,,our true strength shows in one particular form. so even if we can transform into any sups,,our basic strength lies in one particular form.

This also means that you can mate and reproduce with that creature .

This information could change a lot of things.

The changelings were appointed to maintain peace and order because during the great war,,many lives were lost so our population decreased by a very significant amount.

So those of us that survived the war and migrated to earth needed to mate and reproduce to increase our population.

Unmated creatures are the ones causing trouble with humans. Having a mate is the greatest joy of every supernatural creature. A mate completes us and calms us down. But since they could not find their mate's among their kind,,they and forced to settle for humans. And mating with humans doesn't always end well. We are much stronger than humans So if a sup tries to mate a human that is not able to satisfy his s****l desires,,they end up killing the innocent human.

That is the main reason why changelings were chosen to maintain peace and order between sups and humans.

But our discoveries shows that we can do better than that. We can actually help to reduce crime rates only if we are allowed to also mate with other supernatural creatures. My uncle Arnold advices my father to let those of us that our true strength shows when we transform to other creatures to go and mate with those creatures.

But king Arthur was too greedy and power hungry.

Initially he was only a king of changelings but after the great war when we were appointed to be custodians of the law,, he took advantage of our strengths and numbers and became the king of Nexus. The other leaders of other creatures did not challenge him because we were needed to maintain order both in Nexus and on Earth besides they all migrated to earth so they focused more on settling down and left him to the throne and over the years because changelings carried out their jobs efficiently,,we gained the approval and respect of everyone.

uncle Arnold tried to make him see reason and do the right thing but he adamantly refused. Because of my uncle's persistence for him to do the right thing, their bond as brothers began to slowly disappear.

My uncle had no choice but to call all the leaders of each supernatural creature for a general meeting in Nexus.. He personally went to them and informed them of our discoveries and how the king refused to heed to his advice and do the right thing. A meeting date was set and king Arthur was invited.

My father knew he had no choice but to time honor their invitation. He knows that if the others come together to fight us and unseat him,,we'll surely be defeated.

So he attended the meeting but he denied everything my uncle had said claiming that uncle Arnold is a traitor that only wants to unseat him.

The others needed evidence so they could be sure. They know that if this information turns out to be right then crime rates will reduce and many unmated creatures can find their mate's But if this information turned out to be false then Arnold is truly a traitor and it means that there is nothing to stop unmated creatures from causing havoc and disturbing humans.

So after so much deliberation,,they decided to do a trial.

Eight changelings were selected. These eight shows their true strength when they transforme into any of the other creatures.

They were to go to earth with the leaders of each creature and they would find their mate's and get mated.

If the mating was successful then my father would lose the throne of Nexus and changelings would be allowed to mate with other creatures.

King Arthur knows that the outcome of this trial will most definitely bring shame and disgrace to him. So before the mating of the eight he paid a visit to the fairies. As royalties our true strength shows when we transform to fairies. fairies have unlimited powers. They are magical creatures.

King Arthur transformed into a fairy and went to visit Lord Lorenzo. Lord Lorenzo is a white wizard and a very powerful fairy.

My father requested for a strong tranquilizer which he could easily have sent anyone.

Lord Lorenzo was surprised that the king came all the way to his home just to get a tranquilizer but he shielded his thoughts and kept quiet.

While Lord Lorenzo was mixing up the tranquilizer for the king,,he failed to notice the trick my father pulled.

King Arthur stole a Carillion poison from his stash of potions in his shelf. A Carillion is a potion that weakens the heart of sups during the Carillion change.

During the mating of the eight changelings,,king Arthur managed to add a considerable large amount of carillion poison to their foods. So instead of the Carillion change to be completed and permanent,, All the changelings died of heart failure while the other creatures they were supposed to mate with barely survived the poison.

It was then concluded that changelings could not mate with other creatures.

Unfortunately for the king,,Lord Lorenzo saw the corpse of the changelings that was supposed to mate with the fairy and he knew immediately that it is the work of his potion. To be sure of his suspicions he paid a visit to the fairy that was supposed to mate with the changeling and indeed it really was his potion because it is only his Carillion poison that cannot be detected.

He thought about it for days before he decided to report the matter to the king. But because he could not go to see the king himself without an appointment,,he had to go to the second in command.

When he brought the matter to uncle Arnold,,they both decided to keep it quiet for the time being and conduct another trial in secret thereby exposing king Arthur's lies and deceit.

But king Arthur was a step ahead of them. He found out about their secret and accused them of treason and he used his power to sentence them to death. They were charged with slander and murder. Uncle Arnold was sentenced to death for slander and treason because king Arthur claimed he lied against him because he wants the throne for himself while Lord Lorenzo was sentenced to death as an accomplice.

They were sentenced to death along with their families because king Arthur does not want any loopholes. He only saved my cousins so my uncles lineage wont be terminated. He did not bother to save any member of Lord Lorenzo's family simply because he doesn't want anyone that would snitch about the Carillion poison.

A date for the execution was fixed. He planned to execute them all in private. When asked he said he doesn't want people to watch and mock them meanwhile he just doesn't want them to say anything to anyone.

The wizard knows he cannot defeat the king without any evidence and although he wishes to save his entire family but because he has been locked up for days without food or water,,he did not have enough power to save them all. so he decided to save one person that will continue his bloodline and also expose the evil king.

He stripped his youngest son of all his power and hid him among humans. He mind linked his most trusted apprentice to be his guardian and look out for him and watch over him. He wanted to transfer his essence into his son so he can activate the boys powers when he comes of age but the young boys brain was too small to assimilate all the information he wants to pass on to him.

So the Wizard his last willpower to cast a spell on himself. After his death his essence will be divided into two parts. One to his son and the other to a member of the royal family that can stand up to the king. He mind linked his apprentice again and passed on vital informations.

That's how uncle Arnold and his wife including Lord Lorenzo and his family were all executed.

King Arthur searched and searched for Lord Lorenzo youngest son but could never find him because the wizard used a great spell to hide him among humans.

Now only his guardian knows who he is and where he is but no one knows anything about his guardian...

I guess you're wondering how I got to know all these seeing as I was still in my mother's womb when it all happened???

Well the truth is,,, I don't know either... Its just in my subconscious.

Somehow I just know it
