The Beginning

Regina looked in the mirror and was surprised by what she saw--A woman with similar features as her own, but her hair and skin were pure white. Pink markings twirled across her skin. Her pink eyes had a red ring around them as bright as the blood. She had pearlescent pink horns that curled around the sides of her face. And fangs, two on each side, as sharp as a blade. It wasn’t her. It couldn’t be her. Regina lifted her hand towards the mirror. At the same time, the reflection lifted its red hand. It couldn’t be her. She looked past the image. The walls of the bathroom were no longer white, not entirely at least. She turned to look at the bathtub directly behind her. It was red. So were the floor and splatters on the walls. “Oh, that’s right,” she muttered as if distracted. “I tore him apart. I took what was mine. And then…” She looked down at her red-stained hands. “I slit my wrists…” “You also ate his heart,” someone’s voice echoed in the bathroom. She turned to look at the person, meeting orange eyes. “You must have truly hated this guy,” Another person said as he looked into the bloody bathwater. “And loved him,” another woman commented as she sat on the counter next to the sink. She looked up at Regina as she added, “Especially to have three of us here to come to get you.” “What are you? What are you doing here?” Regina growled as she backed away from the mirror and the woman on the counter. “We are the three who came to take you to the underworld,” the man by the bath explained. “You can call me Wrath.” He popped his knuckles as he walked towards the white demon. “I am Gluttony,” the orange-eyed one introduced herself in a proper with a curtsy. She spread her hands in front of her as they began to glow a similar orange to her eyes. The last one jumped off the sink and walked towards the new demon. “And I’m Envy.” Her lime green eyes glared at the woman. “Let’s make this quick, alright?” Regina wasn’t sure what impulsed her to do it; she turned and ran from the three demons. Wrath was the fastest to block her way. The raven-haired demon threw quick punches towards the woman. She slapped at his fists in an attempt to stop them until one slammed into her face. She could hear more than felt what sounded like bones crunching under his fist. Regina collapsed to the ground. She looked up at the demon, surprised to find his arms dripping blood. Wrath’s arms were covered in cuts that were bleeding heavily. Regina hesitantly glanced down at her hands. Silver claws protruded from her red-stained hands. The growl that came from Wrath echoed through the room. The woman looked up at him with wide eyes, watching the man run towards her with a fist at the ready once more. He didn’t get the chance to hit the white demon as an invisible force lifted her. “We’re supposed to bring her back alive,” Gluttony warned, glaring at the male demon. “I don’t care!” Wrath yelled, fangs elongating from his mouth.  He ran towards the woman once more, feathers growing on his back. Regina felt more than heard herself scream. To her surprise, so did Wrath. The demon crashed into the wall across from the others, denting it before he collapsed to the ground. The invisible tendrils holding onto Regina tightened. She gasped, looking back at Gluttony. The blonde demon’s hands tightened into fists as if they were holding onto something. Regina realized she was the one Gluttony was holding. She turned herself in an attempt to face Gluttony more. She could only turn her face, though. It would have to be enough as she screamed at the orange-eyed demon, hoping she could do the same thing she did to Wrath. She knew Gluttony yelled something, but couldn’t hear it over her scream. Regina fell to the ground as the invisible force dropped her. She spun around after she fell, screaming directly at the demon. Instead of just crashing into the wall as Wrath had, Gluttony went entirely through the wall. Regina sighed in relief, but couldn’t relax as a sword came down on her. She lifted her hand to block the blade out of instinct. She felt the sting as the edge dug into her hand, but was surprised by how little it cut into her hand. She watched as a small amount of blood dripped down her hand. The red liquid camouflaged on her skin. She looked up the blade until she was looking up at lime green eyes. “Did you forget you have three opponents?” Envy questioned. Regina didn’t get to answer before the demon slid her sword out of Regina’s grasp. She hissed in pain, hugging her hand to her chest. The blood from her hand was seeping into her white dress. It was barely noticeable by how much blood had already stained it from her bath earlier. She stumbled back as Envy raised her sword once more. The smaller demon’s arm was quick as it came down on the woman. She screamed out of impulse and was thankful when Envy went flying back into the bathroom behind her. Envy slammed into the mirror, shattering it. Regina stared into the white room with wide eyes. She jumped when she heard a grunt from the side of her. She looked back to see Wrath was trying to roll over to his back. Regina pushed herself up on shaky legs. She backed away towards the room’s door, her eyes flickering between the three demons. She ran out of the room as soon as she reached the door. She barely got out of the building when a light pole was thrown towards her. The metal hit her shoulder, knocking Regina to the ground. She screamed, holding her crushed arm. The pain was unbearable, and something told her it wasn’t merely broken. “Keep her from screaming!” she heard a voice yell, sounding close. Regina could feel what felt like someone forcing her mouth shut. As if they were pushing her jaw up until her teeth were grinding together. Envy came running towards the woman, her sword raised. She tried to shake off the force from her mouth, but it didn’t budge. She wiggled back, pushing herself with her legs to no avail. She barely moved three inches by the time the green-eyed demon reached her. Envy’s sword stabbed into the ground right next to Regina’s neck, hovering it over her making it impossible for her to move. The demon turned back to call out to Gluttony. “Where’s Wrath?” “Right here,” Wrath’s gruff voice came from above Regina. Regina tried to look up at the man but was unable to move her head. Suddenly his large hand was gripping her head. “Ready to descend, Cordibus Levtris?” he asked, suddenly crushing her skull. She attempted to scream, but couldn’t open her mouth still. She tried to shake her head, pry his hand off with her good arm, and wiggle her body out of his grasp. Then the world went dark.
