He asked about her life, her work, the little details she once shared only with herself. She asked him about his responsibilities, his travels, the burdens that shaped him. Then, reality intruded.
A letter arrived at her apartment one afternoon, elegant and formal. She opened it with trembling hands. It was an invitation—to a royal event she hadn’t expected to be included in. The prince’s family name was written clearly, commanding attention even without a signature.

That evening, she met him at a quiet café, away from the scrutiny of cameras and staff.
“I can’t keep doing this in secret,” she said, her voice steady despite the storm inside. “If we try again, the world will notice.”
He took her hands, gently but firmly. “I know. And this time… I’m ready to fight for us. No more distance. No more running.”
Her heart leapt, but fear lingered. “Your family… they won’t understand.”
“I’ll make them,” he said, his eyes unwavering. “You’re worth it.”
They sat in silence for a moment, both aware that this was more than just a promise. It was a choice—one that would change their lives. She felt a mix of relief and anxiety, hope and fear. But one thing was clear: the connection they shared, forged years ago and tested by distance, was unbreakable.
