Sanjana's POV:
I ran inside the washroom and kept my hand underneath the running water.
"Clean this after you come... " he said and I heard the door close. I went out.
He was not there. I took the first aid kit and bandaged my hand. I took out the pieces of glass from my leg and applied ointment.
Why? What have I done? I only saved my dad and Arnav's family's dignity. I married him, for the society. I am staying with him for my parents and now this... but why am I suppose to bare this? Why?
When I was told to marry Arnav and he got to know about it, he created a scene... blaming me for Ranjana di's running away and stuff, reasoning that I love him... I denied to it but he kept on speaking until his mom came and stopped him..
I cleaned the pieces, took the cup and went down. I went into the kitchen and prepared some coffee for myself. I went out and saw mom standing there with a smile. I went up to her..
"Beta, meet them.. they are Arnav's grandparents.. " she said.
I bent down and touched dadi and dadu's feet. That's what I called my grandparents...
"God bless you my child.. " they both said in unison.
"What happened to your hand!? " dadi asked in shock. I jerked my hand away.
"Dadi, this... I.. I burnt my hand while preparing coffee.. It'll be fine don't worry dadi... " I said with a fake assuring smile. She nodded.
In no time I cooked lunch and took it to dadi's room. Dadu had gone out for a walk.. When I reached her room, she was going through some book.
"Dadi.. " I called out.
"Oh Sanju beta... come.. " she said with a smile.
I went and sat beside her, she forwarded the album in her hand to be and started showing each picture and naming when they were clicked. She flipped to the next page, which had a lady and a man with baby Arnav in their arms.
"Dadi, who are they? " I asked.
"Um.. No-no one beta... just some old relatives.. no-no one. " she staggered.
"Dadi, this is not the truth... you are hiding something right? " I asked.
"N-no beta I— " I cut her off.
"Dadi... " I said a bit sternly.
"Beta, today what I'm going to tell you is not known by anyone, expect Kaveri and Prem.. promise me you won't let Arnav know about this... I'm only telling you this because I feel you are the best for him... " she said and smiled.
What is it that Dadi is so tensed about?
