During tea Jackson gave Anna a rundown of the work done to the house.
“The windows have been replaced and the bedroom is done. I had Anna call the store and arrange for the furniture to be delivered tomorrow.”
“Thank you the two of you. I do not know what I would have done if it wasn’t for you.”
“I am glad we could do something for you.” Jackson reached out and gave Jacqui’s hand a gentle squeeze.
Anna was unusually quiet.
“Are you all right Anna?”
“Yes Jacqui, just tired, I guess. Cleaning up after the workers was more work than I expected.”
