Braden's POV
"Cassie, wake up."
Her long honey blonde hair framing her face as she groaned at me to leave her alone. Her full pink lips were slightly parted and I could just start to see her perfectly straight teeth.
"Cassie. Come on get up." I pushed her shoulder a little bit and she groaned again. Mumbling something under her breath that sounded like "asshole." I sighed and walked away from her bed and over to the door. I stood in front of it for a second before turning around and screaming as I ran and jumped on her bed. She screamed and pulled the covers up over her head, staying like that for a solid minute while I wiped the water from my eyes from laughing so hard. She slowly pulled the covers away from her face and looked around the room until her eyes were set on me.
"Hello, sunshine." I smiled.
"Ha ha, very funny, B. Now leave so I can wallow in the sadness that is my embarrassing life." She stated over dramatically.
"No can do, Cass. Get up. We're going to the beach. Tonight is the back to school bonfire." I said.
"Ugh. It isn't even night yet. It's only-" she looked over at the digital clock on her night stand, "10 am." She rubbed her eyes and moved the hair out of her face.
"So? We can spend the whole day there. You need a little color anyway." I pinched her cheek, teasing her. She was looking a little pale though. Her skin was fare, just like Megan's, which meant she tended to burn instead of tan. She slapped my arm and I feigned being hurt.
"The only thing I need right now is a huge cup of coffee and a shower." She hopped out of bed and walked over to her closet.
"Okay. Let me know when you're ready and we'll head over there together. I'll even let you drive." I winked at her. Dad got me this sweet 1997 Mazda Miata for my birthday last year and Cass has been dying to drive it for months now. Dad was teaching her how to drive stick shift in his truck, and I thought she finally had it down enough to let her drive my baby. Just to the beach, that is.
"Really? You're gonna let me drive Lucy?" she asked in disbelief. I nodded.
"Okay. What's the catch?" she asked me, leaning her elbow on the drawer of her dresser.
"Nothing. Maybe you'll do a favor for me someday soon." I smirked. I didn't really have anything in mind just yet, but I knew a day would come where I would need her to have my back on something, I just wasn't sure what that would be.
"Okay. Deal." she said and turned to grab a t-shirt and shorts from the drawers. I stood up and walked back towards the door.
"Hey, I'll make your favorite when you come downstairs." I called out over my shoulder before turning around for confirmation from her. Her back was facing me. Her very bare back. She was wearing a matching black bra and pantie set with thin material. Her whole backside was on display to me as I moved my eyes up and down her body from head to toe. She had a birthmark just above the lining of her underwear, just above her butt, in the shape of a strawberry and a mole in the center of her back. I was too busy staring at her mile long legs, I didn't realize that Cass was talking to me.
I shook my head. "What?" I asked drowsily.
"I said sounds like a plan." she spoke slowly.
I just nodded and quickly walked out of the door and leaned my back against the hallway wall. What the hell was that? My hand slapped my forehead as if on its own accord and I could feel my heart beating a mile a minute. I shook my head and started walking down the stairs and to the kitchen. Camila was off for the day which meant we had to fend for ourselves. I found the pancake mix in the cabinet and milk and fresh blueberries in the fridge before whipping up some blueberry pancakes for the both of us. Cassie's favorite.
15 minutes later I could hear her flip flops clacking on the marble floor. She walked in with her hair up in a messy bun and black sunglasses, her blue Stitch backpack hanging from her shoulders. I pointed to the bar with the spatula, signaling for her to sit down. I placed a plate of pancakes on the bar in front of her and a bottle of Ms. Buttersworth beside them.
She slid her glasses up onto her head before sitting down and dowsing her pancakes in the sweet brown liquid before shoving half of one in her mouth with her hand. A moan escaped her lips and I almost dropped my fork on the floor. It clattered against my plate and I quickly picked it up, hooked a pancake on the prongs and shoved the whole thing into my mouth, looking straight down at my plate and trying to forget the sweet sound I just heard from my step-sister.
"So. Why do you wanna go to the beach so early?" She asked me with pancake still in her mouth. She had a bit of syrup on the bottom edge of her lip and I couldn't help but chuckle slightly.
"Um, you have a little-" I trailed off and used the pad of my thumb wipe the syrup from her lip, pulling it down slightly so I could see her tongue while slightly cupping her chin with my forefinger. She stared at me for a second and I couldn't resist staring back into her icy blue eyes. She pulled away after a few seconds and licked her lips.
"Thanks." she mumbled.
"You're welcome," I almost whispered. I cleared my throat. "Anyway, I was wanting to get to the beach early because the guys want to play some football just for fun before the season starts tomorrow and we are basically forced to be playing for the scouts." I told her before stuffing my face with another pancake.
"That sounds like fun. I guess I'll just chill out on my blanket and read a book or something. You know, be my totally nerdy self." She laughed slightly before finishing her last pancake and sliding off the bar stool and placing her plate in the sink. She turned the water on to wash her hands as I hopped out of my seat to place my dish in the sink as well. Just as I was disposing of my syrup soaked plate, Cassie turned around to walk away, only to slam right into me, her chest touching mine. I grabbed her waist to keep her from falling, only to cause our bodies to be pushed even closer together. Her hand was on my bicep and it flexed slightly as she held onto it. Her breath hitched as she looked up at me and I could feel my breathing accelerating as well.
"I um...think I'll go change into my swim trunks now." I stated, not moving from my very spot. My hands were tightening against her waist and I could feel her nails starting to dig into my arm. I didn't even care if she drew blood. I didn't want to leave this spot. I was drawn to her like a magnate. She smelled of vanilla and sandalwood and her hair was still wet from her shower. I could imagine her standing under the shower head, the water running down her curvaceous body; down the valley of her breasts, around her navel, dripping from her lips.
"Yeah. We should get going." she whispered. Our faces so close that her breath fanned my lips. She slid her hand down my arm sending my nerves on fire. I moved my hands from her waist and walked backwards towards the doorway, rubbing the back of my neck before walking out of the kitchen and all but running up to my room to change into my swim trunks, but not before fixing the hard on I was currently sporting.
Cass pulled Lucy into the parking lot slow and steady before parking and pulling up the emergency break. I had to admit, she had gotten really good. So good that I was considering asking Reggie at the garage if I could fix up the 1968 Ford Mustang he's been trying to sell for parts for the last year. Reggie was the owner of R&B Garage and also my boss. He hooked me up with a part time job there on the days that I don't have football practice. The money wasn't great, but it was nice to have something else going on in my life and not just football.
We hopped out of the car and Cassie walked straight over to a deserted spot in the sand. She laid her towel down and slid her backpack off her shoulders before slipping her t-shirt off and sliding out of her shorts to reveal her olive green bikini which I found to be a little too revealing as I noticed the lifeguard a few yards away starring her down like a piece of meat. He slid his sunglasses down the bridge of his nose for a better look.
My ears started ringing and I rubbed the back of my head where it began to hurt. I looked down and noticed a football down at my feet. I picked it up and turned around. Austin was waving his arms at me frantically, and the boys were behind him laughing it up.
"B, get your ass over here!" he yelled at me. I glanced over at Cassie once more. She was staring through her sunglasses at a battered up paperback, probably one she had read a dozen times, before running over to the guys.
The sun was beginning to set and we had just finished our fifth game. My muscles were aching and I could only imagine how hard coach was going to run us this year. It was senior year and I was looking at getting in to the University of Florida next year as long as I kept up a C+ average and played my ass off this season.
I ran over to the cooler and picked up a water bottle, taking a sip before pouring the ice cold liquid over my head and feeling it run down my chest. I shook my head, trying to rid my hair of water. I looked back up and saw Cassie standing in the water, thigh deep with the water swaying just beneath her butt. Her hands were moving over the water gently, her fingertips just barely grazing it. I couldn't stop my feet from walking over and into the water, standing next to her. We stared at the sunset. Red, turning into orange, turning into yellow. The sky was a hazy pink with a light blue undertone and the water was glistening beneath us.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" she asked, still not having looked at me. I looked at her. Her hair was golden from the sunlight and her eyes looked like perfectly cut sapphires. It was like she was Medusa, stilling me for eternity with one look.
"Yeah. Absolutely gorgeous." I mumbled, looking at her freckled face. The next thing I knew my head was being submerged under water and Cassie's mouth was wide in surprise. I jumped up from the water with my hair in my face and water dripping into my eyes. Cassie was laughing and Austin was doubled over coughing up a lung, he was laughing so hard.
"Oh, you think this is funny, huh?" I asked Cass with a serious look on my face. She immediately stopped laughing.
"N-no. Not at all." she mumbled shyly.
"Oh, no? No?" I said as I ran towards her and lifted her up and throwing her into the water, her scream echoing around me. I couldn't contain my laughter as she flopped around in the water trying to regain stability. Her bikini top slid open a bit more, the triangles moving further apart on the strip inside of them, exposing the curves of her breasts and I couldn't help but stare at them.
Once her hair was out of her face and she was back standing straight, she caught my eyes and quickly readjusted her top.
"So the bonfire is starting soon. Want to go grab a spot before all the good ones are taken?" she asked me. I just nodded and followed her out of the water trying really hard not to stare a her backside in that way too revealing bikini.
