Episode 3: The Power Inside Her Blood

745 Words
The Power Inside Her Blood Aria couldn’t sleep. The room they gave her was too quiet. Too perfect. Too… controlled. Everything in Blackthorn Territory felt like it was watching her. Even the walls. Even the air. Especially the air. She sat on the edge of the massive bed, staring at her hands. Nothing about her life made sense anymore. One day she was running from debt collectors. Now she was sitting in a palace belonging to an Alpha King who said she “belonged” to him. “…This is insane,” she whispered to herself. A soft knock came at the door. Aria froze. “Who is it?” No answer. Another knock. Slower this time. Deliberate. Aria stood slowly and walked toward the door. She didn’t open it immediately. “…If this is some kidnapping tradition thing, I’m not participating.” Silence. Then— A whisper. Not outside. Inside her head. Open it. Aria stumbled back. “What…?” The voice wasn’t hers. It felt old. Feminine. And angry. The room temperature dropped. The lights flickered once. Aria’s heart raced. “Nope. No no no. I’m hallucinating. That’s what this is.” The knock came again—harder this time. BOOM. The door vibrated. Something on the other side was getting impatient. Aria swallowed. Slowly, she opened it. No one was there. Only the hallway. Empty. Still. Too still. Then— The whisper returned. Closer. Finally… Aria stepped back instantly. “What do you want from me?!” The air around her shifted. A pulse of energy spread from her chest outward. The hallway lights shattered instantly. CRASH. Glass exploded. The walls trembled. Aria froze. “…I didn’t do that.” But deep down— She knew she did. ⸻ Elsewhere in the Territory Ronan was walking through the upper hall when he stopped suddenly. His body went still. His eyes narrowed. “…Nyxar.” Inside him, his wolf stirred violently. Not aggressive. Alert. Focused. She’s awake. Ronan’s expression darkened. “That’s impossible.” But even as he said it— The entire territory trembled. A low vibration spread through the ground like a heartbeat. Every wolf in the estate stopped moving at once. Heads turned toward the guest wing. Fear. Confusion. Recognition. Ronan’s eyes sharpened. “She triggered it…” And he moved. Fast. ⸻ Back in Aria’s Room Aria backed away from the hallway. Her breathing was uneven. Her heart was pounding so hard it hurt. The whisper returned again. But this time… It wasn’t outside. It was inside her blood. You’re finally hearing me. Aria grabbed her head. “Stop! Stop talking!” The energy in her body surged again. The room reacted instantly. The bed cracked. The mirror shattered. The floor beneath her feet formed thin cracks spreading outward. Aria stared at her hands. Terrified. “…What am I?” The whisper softened. You are what they buried. Suddenly— Footsteps. Fast. Powerful. The door opened without knocking this time. Ronan entered. The moment his eyes landed on her— He froze. Because the air around Aria was glowing faintly. Silver light pulsing under her skin like something trying to break free. Ronan’s voice lowered. “…Aria.” She looked at him. Eyes wide. “I didn’t do this.” Ronan stepped closer slowly. “I know.” The lights flickered again. A pulse spread from Aria’s body. Ronan stopped immediately. His wolf reacted inside him violently. Not fear. Recognition. ⸻ Behind Aria— Something flickered in the air. A shadow. Then a shape. A wolf made of silver light appeared behind her for a fraction of a second. Ancient. Majestic. Dangerous. Then it vanished. Aria saw it. “…Did you see that?” Ronan didn’t answer immediately. Because what he saw… Was impossible. Finally, he spoke. Low. Controlled. “…So it’s awake.” Aria turned sharply. “What is awake?!” Ronan looked at her. And for the first time since they met— His expression wasn’t calm. It was serious. “You’re not human, Aria.” Silence. The room went still. Even the energy around her paused. Ronan continued: “And you were never supposed to survive long enough to realize it.” Aria whispered: “…Then what am I?” Ronan stepped closer. “This is where everything changes.” He looked into her eyes. And said the truth she was never meant to hear. “You are a Moonveil.” ⸻ END OF EPISODE 3
