Chapter 2: First Quest and First Recruit

In the mission board some plant medicine caught his eye it's the "Rainbow plant" it appears to be hard to find and the location is in the top of the mountain. He grew up on the plains of the mountain his uncle told him to never go near it because the monsters there is strong unlike on the plains.

The rainbow plant is enough to get his academy fee paid. The magic academy has 500 gold entrance fee as the rumors says. If he completes the mission, he can get enough for the entrance fee, so he decided to take the quest and go to the guilds supply counter.

The rainbow plant used to be common in the mountain but in the past years it decreases significantly. He takes the mission apparently, he can't take it alone because hes so young. He needs to recruit 1 member at least d rank adventurer many ranked adventurer gone missing that trigger the implementation of this system.

Anything can happen when you step outside the safe zone. The counter leads him to a room full of trustworthy adventurer who wants to be paid and help complete the mission of their client apparently 25 gold is the price for a d rank adventurer and hanta got 20 gold coins only.

He got 10 gold he earns growing up and the other 10 from his uncle and aunt to support his journey total of 20 gold. He don't have much time left and he needs money to get this quest now. So hanta looks at the lady counter with teary sad eyes and the lady said "hai hai" the lady saw potential in him for her first impression so she lend him 5 gold and says to hanta you "should come back to pay me huh!" then wink.

Then they proceed to the counter lady's room. He saw all 5 the counter lady working they're all beautiful and "bountiful" but hanta maintain a poker face unlike other adventurer that enters the guild hall only to take a glance at the counter ladies.

Her assistant grabs her wallet and give him the 5 gold he needed and proceed to pick recruit for his first mission.

The counter announces the recruitment on the clam speaker inside the guild she says "Wanted d class adventurer collect rainbow flower mission" the gadget is came from capital and it's very expensive the speaker is 1000 gold each. They have 4 speakers around the guild's hall rooms. Many different missions is on the board like hunting quest, gathering quest, looking for missing person, looking for wanted criminals, treasure hunting, search for stolen jewels, antique, accessory but the most popular and difficult quest "magical items" quest.

The finding and cataloging of magical items is a rich quick quest. The adventurer will just show it to the guilds staff and evaluate it for its equivalent value some of it is already recorded and got a fix amount value.

Five people are up for the quest and came to the viewing room for them to get picked by their client many adventurer gets afraid because it's on the mountain called "Mt. Amat". Report says great number of adventurer disappear around it it's life and death quest just going to that mountain.

Hanta proceeds to the viewing room the recruits are numbered one to five.

The first guy number 1, 20mission complete dub as "Mr. Consistent" 35-year-old with sword and armor.

Number 2, Buff guy 30yr old with axe.

Number 3, 20yr old girl spear and armor.

Number 4, 18yr old gambler he appears to don't have any weapon and just reading a booklet.

Number 5, 40yr old thug that doesn't look like he will do anything good so he's an automatic no to him.

After evaluating based on their looks and vibe because the guild will never show their record only to the member of the guild got this privilege. Hanta then picks no. 4 he looks sharp calm and strong he's not even bother showing up with armor and weapon. Plus, if he has bad intention hanta thinks he can have a better chance of living if he gets attacked, they're the closest in age and he don't have equipments. But hanta don't know if it's a good thing or not given they're going to a dangerous territory.

The adventurer get's pick and he smirk because he thinks it's a big haul 25 gold for a mission if the mission is failed the adventurer must return the half of it. This mission got 5-day expiration if they don't return on 6th day some search team will deploy to find them, but some unlucky adventurers doesn't found alive given they will go to a very wild territory.

The adventurer accept the mission and identify himself to hanta after they do the paperwork like signing the contract of the guild and agreeing to the guild's terms and condition. They part ways to prepare for the adventure and see each other in 30mins at the gate going to the mountain.

Hanta return to their house and pick what he needs on his first mission because he train on mountain feet for years he just ate and wonder in his bed looking forward and excited for his first mission the time comes 30 mins is up he just shower and left a note to his uncle and aunt that says "don't worry i'll be back" then leave the house and went to their meeting place he just look up at the sky as he walk that he can't believe he's going outside for a real mission.

He arrives at the meeting place and see the adventurer he picks the adventurer is surprised that hanta don't have anything with him for a first timer on a mission outside because when he's paired with a newbie they always bring a lot of stuff with them based on his experience doing mission with other people.

The adventurer Pov when he separate ways with hanta at the guild earlier he just returns home and gamble his pay 12 gold and 5 silver for now when the quest is complete, he will receive the other half from the guild he return home gets his stash of smoking herb put on his bag, shower, eat, then smoke on a kiseru pipe then proceed to the gambling district.

It's beside the red-light district, in the gambling area they got dices, horse race, teks he apparently lucky this day and hit a jackpot in every gambling house and earn 100 gold on 30mins. He then want to go hit the ladies but the time is up and need to go on the quest he sign up earlier. If he dont appear the client can alert the towns knight to find him. He just sigh and left then go to the meeting spot before he goes he quickly deposit his money to his bank and just take 10 gold in case of emergency.

Then the two meets at the rendezvous point and hanta show the guard his copy of the mission the guard take it and post on the ongoing mission and says they will search for them if they dont come back in 6 days the guard says be careful and goodluck knowing many adventurer take a mission in the mountain that never comeback. On the ongoing mission board hanta notice a lot of quest copy from years past at the bulletin board is decaying already beside it faces of about 200 missing adventurer posters lined up.
